Fishing was great over the weekend.  We held our 8th Annual Kid’s Catch Fishing Tournament and the kids hit the docks with plenty of fish.  Inshore and along the Inlet we have seen Flounder, Spot, Trout, Rockfish, Sea Bass, Mackerel, Triggerfish, croaker, bluefish and Tog.  Offshore Yellowfin and Big Eye Tuna have hit the docks.  […]

The Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) is urging eligible tax-exempt nonprofits, including faith-based organizations, to prepare now for an upcoming Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) opportunity anticipated to be available for applications in early March 2023. NSGP provides funding for projects that enhance physical security and cybersecurity to nonprofits at high risk of a terrorist attack. Two requirements for NSGP applications are a Vulnerability Assessment and Unique Entity Identification (UEI) Number. Fourteen districts or charter schools will benefit from McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act Education for Homeless Children and Youth grants to facilitate the enrollment, attendance, and success in school of children and youth experiencing homelessness. The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act defines homeless children and youth as individuals who lack a fixed, adequate, and regular nighttime residence.

DNREC continued to diversify marine habitat for angling and diving experiences on Delaware’s renowned artificial reef system today by sinking two vintage vessels – a retired City of Baltimore fireboat and a World War II-era tugboat – onto Reef Site 11, the Redbird Reef, that also contains 750 retired NYC "Redbird" subway cars.
