P.S. The best blowjob is 25-50% handjob. by Dan Savage 1. This debate is raging again, Dan, and we need you to issue a ruling: Do straight women belong in gay bars? Some (straight women, gay bars), not all (straight women, gay bars). 2. Why do men keep ghosting me after sex? I’m a 25-year-old woman. No clue. You could’ve had a string of bad luck — and fucked a dozen (or more) shitty guys in a row — or it could be something you’re doing wrong. Even if you don’t think you’re doing anything wrong, once you’ve noticed a pattern of behavior and/or results that makes you unhappy, it’s a good idea to make some changes. Try meeting different kinds of guys in different kinds of ways, try slowing your roll/hole, etc., and take time along the way to engage in constructive introspection and make further changes/course corrections, as needed. 3. How do I stop people from falling in…

Quick Tip: How to Activate iOS and iPadOS Beta Updates

In this episode, Tunmi13 walks us through how to activate iOS and iPadOS beta updates.

To do this, first sign in with your Apple ID at either developer.apple.com, to access the developer beta, or beta.apple.com, to access the public beta. Then, once signed up for either program, go to Settings > General > Software update > Beta updates, and select the beta you signed up for. You can then go back one level in Settings, and the beta should appear like any other update that you can download and install.

Important: Beta versions of iOS and iPadOS may contain serious bugs, which is why it's generally advised, if possible, to install them on another device specifically designated for beta testing, or have a full and complete backup of your data in case a downgrade from the beta, which involves a full restore of your device, becomes necessary. For more information, check out this introduction to iOS and iPadOS beta testing.

10-minute delivery and the gifting industry: A perfect match or just a quick fix?

Quick Nonprofit Update

As of November 1, 2024 (it took some time for the notice to arrive), the Metafilter Community Foundation exists as an officially registered Delaware nonprofit non-stock corporation.

What this means:
1. We can now get an EIN, apply for a bank account, and apply to the IRS for not-for-profit designation.
2. The interim board of directors can get to work. We will have to adopt bylaws, approve (with community input) a policy and procedures manual, obtain insurance, and transfer the existing LLC and its assets into the new entity, among many other tasks.

We have a lot of work ahead.

Many people have expressed concern about this process, how long it's taking, and the future of the site. We share these concerns, which is why we've been donating so much of our time to this task. It will soon be time for members of our community to run for the Board of Directors, choose officers, join committees, and generally start doing all of the "community" things people have been calling for over the years. Think you know how to improve Metafilter? Now's the time to prove it. Friends, this is a long way from being over, but I believe that our community's best days are ahead of it. I expect that many people are going to be seeking internet communities in the coming months where civility and thoughtful discussion are still the norm, rather than the exception. If ever there were a time to do more outreach for new members and promote our site and what it can do, what it might yet be, this is it. If there's any silver lining to the current tumult in the world, it's that it gives us even more impetus to band together, talk to each other, and over-analyze those plates of beans. Now, let's get organized!

'Devastated': As Layoffs Keep Coming, Hopes Fade That Jobs Will Return Quickly

Updated at 8:44 a.m. ET From airlines to paper mills, the job news is grim, and there are growing signs it won't be getting better anytime soon. On Thursday, the Labor Department reported nearly 2.4 million new applications for state and federal unemployment benefits last week. And United Airlines is warning that it may have to furlough as many as 36,000 employees this fall. Demand for air travel has collapsed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The president of the flight attendants union called the warning a "gut punch" but also "the most honest assessment we've seen on the state of the industry — and our entire economy." Union President Sara Nelson tweeted that demand for air travel had recovered a small fraction of its pre-pandemic levels this summer and "even those minimal gains evaporated over the last week due to surging COVID-19 cases across the country." Jobs in other industries are facing similar threats as the coronavirus tightens its stubborn grip on the country. Derse

Quick Rapport Technique.

As most fundraisers know, building rapport with donors keeps them on the phone and listening to your request. Rapport isn't a clever trick; it is a means of showing donors that you are interested in them and that you have at least some small things in common. We build rapport in almost every conversation we have whether on or off of the phone. Building rapport with someone you've just called for the first time can be a little harder, but it is certainly possible.

One simple technique for rapport building is knowing the state nicknames or motto's of the states that you're dialing into. Asking a donor how things are going in the Equality State rather than simply how things are going, makes your question more intimate. Donors really do open up when you take a personal interest in them. Listed below are the state nicknames.

A Quick Fix Makes This IKEA Outdoor Storage Box So Much More Accessible

The IKEA NÄMMARÖ storage box serves as a practical solution for the garden and balcony, functioning well as an outdoor storage box and bench. New free extension release: Quick Menu (for Joomla 4)

Today we're launching Quick Menu, a new free admin module for Joomla 4 which adds a handy top-side (desktop) or bottom-side (mobile) menu in the Joomla 4 backend. The purpose of Quick Menu is to restore UX sanity & reduce unnecessary clickity-click.

The main features of this new admin module are:

    • Less clicks to important content management and admin tasks in the Joomla 4 backend... duh!
    • Neatly organize the menu in 2 columns (for admins), one to access common content management tasks and one to access common admin tasks. Keep in mind that not everything is included and for good reason: keep things simple.
    • Respects configured backend access permissions for your user groups. In other words, plain content managers will see menu options for what they can only access, whereas Super Admins will see menu options for everything.

Grab the module from https://www.joomlaworks.net/extensions/free/quickmenu and install like any other Joomla extension.

Afterwards, look it up under Administrator Modules in the Joomla 4 backend, click to edit it, assign the module position "status" and publish the module. Done!

You new backend quick menu will now be available to use.

Quick Menu is compatible with Joomla version 4.x on servers running PHP 7 or 8.

    DOWNLOAD

You can download this version by visiting the extension's page at: https://www.joomlaworks.net/extensions/free/quickmenu

    UPGRADING

Updating is easy as future releases will show up in the extension updates page in Joomla.

Find Routing problem (Route Vision) and quickly to fix these problems

The vision manager is good tool for routing check. but no quickly or effective  tool to fix or optimize this  problems to be optimized.

For example, parallel Gap less than preferred, min seg/Arc length, uncoupled diff-pair segs, and so on.

I only know use spread between voids to fix the non-optimized segs. in fact it is inefficient.

the parallel gap less than preferred is only to slice evry trace, its inefficient.

If i set the paraller gap less than 50um, Is there any tool to quickly fix these problems(gap less than 50um)?

For other problems,i can use tool to quickly fix the min seg/Arc length, uncoupled diff pair segs, accoding to select by polygon or select  by windows.

    Tiny Quick Update

    Hi everyone,

I’m deep into revising the next Graceling Realm book (starring Hava), which is why I haven’t been here on the blog. It’s also why over on Twitter, mostly I’ve just been tweeting pictures of candles. I am Very Absorbed. Also, we moved to a new apartment last month. Also life. Also the pandemic and self-care. I hope you’re doing well.

Gareth Hinds’s adaptation of the Graceling graphic novel comes out in November! He's been tweeting some lovely stuff on Twitter, and Graceling: the Graphic Novel is now available for pre-order wherever books are sold. Including at your local indie.

I’ll be back when there’s more news and/or when I have a minute for blogging, whichever comes first.  Until then, leaving you with a few of my recent candles…
