New Zealand’s cabinet will meet on Monday to decide the future of the country’s tough but effective lockdown – though Kiwis have been told not to visit their mums this Mother’s Day.

Next week, Ardern’s government will plot a path back to something close to normality, meeting to decide a timetable for the removal of social and business restrictions. The prime minister has already released what level two restrictions will look like, including the re-opening of restaurants, hairdressers, gyms, cinemas and public facilities like museums and libraries.

Social restrictions could end immediately, with provisions for schools, business and personal movement more likely to be phased in.

Any decision will come too late for Kiwi mums to enjoy visits from sons and daughters not already in their household bubbles. Ardern has banned socialising outside of existing households, with few exceptions, and told Kiwis this week to “stick to the plan” ahead of Monday’s review.

India primed: what Amazon's vast new Hyderabad campus reveals about its plans

Amazon have arrived in force in rapidly expanding Hyderabad, with designs on the currently almost non-existent Indian e-commence market

The futuristic lobby of the new Amazon building in Hyderabad feels as though it should have a permanent orchestra blasting out Also Sprach Zarathustra. The scale is intended to awe. A large slogan on a wall suggests the company is “Delivering smiles”. The only sound that rises above the hush is a synthesised beep, coming from a giant screen playing a video of the campus at various stages of its construction.

Built on nine acres in this Indian city’s financial district, it is Amazon’s single largest building globally and the only Amazon-owned campus outside the US. It can house over 15,000 employees, but its size is its main architectural feature: it resembles the same cube of glass steel and chrome seen in corporate offices across Hyderabad, though a flash of magenta reflected in one of the top floor windows, from a billowing sari across the road, is a nice Indian touch.

Airbnb slump means Europe's cities can return to residents, say officials

Cities like Barcelona want to use crisis to allow people to rent properties at decent rates

Airbnb has revolutionised travel and since it was founded in 2008 hundreds of thousands of property owners have used the holiday accommodation platform to make ends meet, make a living and, in some cases, make a killing.

But while hosts, as they are known, are wringing their hands over the collapse of the travel industry and their loss of income, many city authorities are rubbing theirs at the prospect of thousands of holiday lets returning to the traditional rental market. Cities complain that the highly profitable holiday lets have driven up rents and forced out residents with the knock-on effect that local businesses no longer have a community to serve.

Hayley Williams: Petals for Armor review – one of the year's biggest revelations

(Atlantic)
This solo debut from the frontwoman of pop-punk stadium stars Paramore is a riot of lust, funk and femininity

Maturity is an often derided concept in a youth-facing art form. But when Simmer, a song about repressed feminist rage buoyed by creepy electronics – the lead track from Hayley Williams’s debut solo album – was released in January, it signalled an intriguing sea change in an artist previously known as a bouncy, flame-haired emo cheerleader.

The story of how Hayley Williams, now 31, went from leading angsty emo shoutalongs in the Tennessee pop-punk band Paramore to releasing these startling songs about rage, femininity and suicidal thoughts is one of the knottier yarns in contemporary American guitar music. Her trio-of-EPs album is now complete, with the final EP – and a physical album uniting all three – released last Friday.

Jake pitts has a twitch (BVB guitarist) and also a random rant from my creativity

Its JakePittsOfficial if you wanted to find it
I was watching his old vlogs he did, from like 4 years ago
it got me thinking

So i was watching one of his streams earlier and someone mentioned how BVB and him have inspired them to start playing guitar, or bass, or whatever and he said something like "you guys say that we inspire you and that amazes me. See, if you really get after this and do a lot with this, you can inspire the next generation, and they inspire the next generation, and so on." and it just got me thinking because like, i wrote a song, yall saw Raise Hell (if you didnt self promo here it is https://www.mychemicalromance.com/news/raise-hell-3517406 ) and I really like the whole sound i have planned for it. But see i dont ahve anything to put that sound in it other than my voice and shitty programs that my Chromebook allows but now i really really want to like, start a band or at least start sharing shit ive made.
My dad has a bass guitar in his garage and he said he'd clean it up and let me use it and now i want to do that. I gotta stick with it though.

I randomly get inspiration to write a song or a melody and sometimes ill just start recording and let shit flow and usually it isnt good but like, sometimes it is. Trial and error.
Raise hell was just an awesome thing that came to mind almost fully put together. I had the chorus and the intro playing in my head before they were written.
The rest just pulled together as i was typing the lyrics down.

Im watching this video and he walked up to the stage and its fucking huge. I know what being up on a stage like that feels like, though technically not as a show. It was just hype at the end of a stay away camp week.
Still.

I liked that feeling. It was terrifying as all fucking hell but like as soon as i got my ass over the stage fright and actually danced to the music playing i was losing my fucking mind.
It was so fun and so cool and such an amazing feeling.

I really want to get out there
I want to play music
I want to show off my art
I want to express myself and let other people see it.

I couldnt fucking care less about what people think of me. Honestly. As long as i have those few good friends i know wont leave me, Im good.

I really, really reallly really want to be up on a stage, singing my fucking heart out to a song i wrote and hearing people sing it back to me.

Its not even the self-hype or whatever its called, its just the yearn to share the shit ive made.

I really want that.

I want that so badly.

Now I just gotta figure out how the hell to do that.

Petals For Armor

This album shook me to my core. From the day simmer was released to present day, where the album has been out for over 24 hours it's meant the world to me. Hayley said herself that this was about her, and how not everyone was going to be able to relate to all the songs, but I relate to pretty much all of them and they all resonate deeply within my soul. There is no bad song on the album.
Talking about a few song (not all):
Watch Me As I Bloom is actually starting to motivate me (something that happens once in a blue moon). It hasn't fully motivated me yet, but with more plays I have a feeling it will. I can perfectly imagine that as a closer to her shows, and feels like a great wrap up to the album's symbolism so the final song can be relaxed and beautiful
The lyrics with Simmer mean the world to me (my mom actually wants to get one of the lyrics tattooed, and she doesn't have any tattoos) and the song sounded so different and unique. It was a perfect song to lead the album. The music video, which lead to a three part series, was outstanding.
Dead Horse was unapologetic with every single line, airing out everything from Hayley's last relationship. It's also one of the biggest bops on the album
I really slept on Why We Ever. I don't know why, but it took the full album to be out in order for me to fully appreciate it. The way it transitions into the pure piano speaks to my soul
Sugar On The Rim is vouge at it's finest and I expect a mosh pit of gays at every show not hitting each other and just vouging. Not to mention Hayley's lower register really comes out, which I love.
The flower theme throughout the whole process was amazing, and I'm absolutely living for it. I truly believe that there is nothing Hayley can't do and I am completely in love with her and her music. I want to talk about more songs but this is already really long so I'm going to leave it off here. This album is a 10/10 and I need it on vinyl haha
