For the second time this season, Penn State Altoona student-athlete Caden Traggiai, of Sarver, was chosen as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Men’s Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced on Monday, Oct. 28.

A 1948 Tucker repaired by students at Pennsylvania College of Technology earned honors at the recent Antique Automobile Club of America’s Eastern Division National Fall Meet in Hershey. The vehicle won the First Junior Award, meaning it was ranked the best among all cars judged for the first time in its class: limited production and prototype vehicles through 1998.

Penn State alumnus and Board of Trustees member Brandon Short and his wife Mahreen are honoring their late daughter Karli through the Karli Short Better Tomorrow Foundation. The foundation provides financial assistance through a scholarship for Penn State undergraduates grappling with the fallout of gun violence, and the Shorts are inviting other donors to support the fund.

Kuei-Nuan Lin, associate professor of mathematics at Penn State Greater Allegheny, has been awarded the 2025 Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) Service Award for her exceptional leadership in advancing women in mathematics. Her contributions, including leading the AWM Mentor Network Program and serving in various committee roles, highlight her dedication to supporting women in the field.

Unique video work done by Penn State Greater Allegheny faculty member Rosemary Martinelli, assistant teaching professor of marketing and communications, has garnered gold, silver and bronze awards on the local and international stages.

Pamela Pologruto has received the F.A. Davis Award for Outstanding Physical Therapist Assistant Educator. Secretary of Education Mark Holodick is pleased to recognize the following students for their submissions in this year’s Esri’s 2024 ArcGIS webapp competition. Students were challenged to create and share interactive mapping projects using ESRI ArcGIS software. Delaware entrants to this national competition must create a digital Storymap that explores some aspect of life in Delaware.

More than 140 students and advisors from across Delaware joined more than  12,000 other members at the 47th annual HOSA-Future Health Professionals International Leadership Conference in Houston last week.
