Orthogonal Time Frequency Space (OTFS) is a $ ext{2-D}$ modulation technique that has the potential to overcome the challenges faced by orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) in high Doppler environments. The performance of OTFS in a multi-user scenario with orthogonal multiple access (OMA) techniques has been impressive. Due to the requirement of massive connectivity in 5G and beyond, it is immensely essential to devise and examine the OTFS system with the existing Non-orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) techniques.

In this paper, we propose a multi-user OTFS system based on a code-domain NOMA technique called Sparse Code Multiple Access (SCMA). This system is referred to as the OTFS-SCMA model. The framework for OTFS-SCMA is designed for both downlink and uplink. First, the sparse SCMA codewords are strategically placed on the delay-Doppler plane such that the overall overloading factor of the OTFS-SCMA system is equal to that of the underlying basic SCMA system. The receiver in downlink performs the detection in two sequential phases: first, the conventional OTFS detection using the method of linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE), and then the conventional SCMA detection. For uplink, we propose a single-phase detector based on message-passing algorithm (MPA) to detect the multiple users' symbols. The performance of the proposed OTFS-SCMA system is validated through extensive simulations both in downlink and uplink. We consider delay-Doppler planes of different parameters and various SCMA systems of overloading factor up to 200$\%$. The performance of OTFS-SCMA is compared with those of existing OTFS-OMA techniques. The comprehensive investigation demonstrates the usefulness of OTFS-SCMA in future wireless communication standards.

This disclosure relates generally to systems and methods for simulating physical active semiconductor components using in silico active semiconductor components. To simulate charge degradation effect(s) in a circuit simulation, a simulated defect signal level is produced. More specifically, the simulated defect signal level simulates at least one charge degradation effect in the in silico active semiconductor component as a function of simulation time and a simulated input signal level of a simulated input signal. As such, the charge degradation effect(s) are simulated externally with respect to the in silico active semiconductor component. In this manner, the in silico active semiconductor component does not need to be reprogrammed in order to simulate charge degradation effects.

A method includes providing a design of a semiconductor device such as a stacked CMOS device comprising a plurality of circuit elements to be assigned into a layout of a plurality of tiers, and identifying at least one first type of circuit element within the plurality of circuit elements based on at least one predetermined criterion. Each respective one of the at least one first type of circuit element is to be assigned to a respective designated one of the plurality of tiers. The method further includes dividing the remainder of the plurality of circuit elements into at least two groups of circuit elements based on circuit density, and assigning the at least one first type of circuit element and the at least two groups of circuit elements to respectively different ones of the plurality of tiers of the semiconductor device.

The present disclosure relates a method of performing a design rule checking (DRC) procedure on a multi-tiered integrated chip. In some embodiments, the method is performed by defining layer databases for a plurality of tiers within a multi-tiered integrated chip. The layer databases respectively identify design layers within an associated tier. A DRC (design rule checking) deck is then generated, which defines one or more individual design layer definitions as a function of a plurality of layer databases, so that the one or more individual design layer definitions are defined for a plurality of tiers. One or more design rules for the one or more individual design layer definitions are defined within the DRC deck. Since the individual design layer definitions are defined as functions of the plurality of layer databases, the design rules apply to the plurality of tiers.

A high voltage full wave rectifier and doubler circuit having complementary serially connected low voltage MOSFET stacks to provide high voltage capability. A floorplan for a Structured ASIC chip is shown having a core region containing memory and VCLB logic cells surrounded by a plurality of IO connection fabrics that include a first IO connection fabric comprising IO sub-banks connecting the core of the chip to pins for external signals to the core, a first high-speed routing fabric disposed along the east-west vertical top of the core and connects the core to high-speed IO such as SerDes; a network-aware connection fabric connects the core to a microcontroller primarily for testing and repair of the memory in the core; and a second-high speed routing fabric is disposed on the north-south vertical sides of the core and communicates with the IO sub-banks. The VCLB Structured ASIC chip is manufactured on a 28 nm CMOS process lithographic node or smaller, having several metal layers and preferably is programmed on a single via layer.

In general, the present invention provides methods and apparatuses for exploiting the extra degree of freedom provided by the sensing of the CM signal along with the DM signal at the receiver end of a wireline communication system. According to certain aspects, this extra degree of freedom can be used to cancel alien noises at the receiver in both upstream downstream directions. According to further aspects, a CM channel can be potentially used to exploit the diversity created in the CM channel along with the regular DM channel. This acts as the motivation for employing a diversity receiver scheme at the receiver, especially in downstream communications received at a Customer Premises.

The present disclosure is directed to a liquid control mobility receptacle for storage, filtration, distribution, and transportation of liquids. The liquid control mobility receptacle has a main body that encloses a front security enclosure, a pump enclosure, and a main enclosure for storage of liquids. The main enclosure is disposed between the pump enclosure and the front security enclosure. An internal power source is enclosed within the front security enclosure and is electrically coupled to a pump, which is enclosed in pump enclosure. A fill line is provided to pump liquid from a liquid source into the main enclosure. A recirculation line is provided to recirculate fluid in within the main enclosure. A supply line is provided for pumping fluid out of the main enclosure. In some examples, the liquid control mobility receptacle has an internal power source that is a diesel engine, and the security enclosure further houses a fuel enclosure that is fluidly coupled to the diesel engine. In some further examples, the liquid control mobility receptacle has an internal power source that is a solar power generator, and a top wall of the security enclosure further includes a plurality of solar panels that are electrically coupled to the solar power generator.

Package structures and methods are provided to integrate optoelectronic and CMOS devices using SOI semiconductor substrates for photonics applications. For example, a package structure includes an integrated circuit (IC) chip, and an optoelectronics device and interposer mounted to the IC chip. The IC chip includes a SOI substrate having a buried oxide layer, an active silicon layer disposed adjacent to the buried oxide layer, and a BEOL structure formed over the active silicon layer. An optical waveguide structure is patterned from the active silicon layer of the IC chip. The optoelectronics device is mounted on the buried oxide layer in alignment with a portion of the optical waveguide structure to enable direct or adiabatic coupling between the optoelectronics device and the optical waveguide structure. The interposer is bonded to the BEOL structure, and includes at least one substrate having conductive vias and wiring to provide electrical connections to the BEOL structure.
