ens Less expensive mirrorless camera for video? By ask.metafilter.com Published On :: Thu, 30 Apr 2020 14:01:21 -0800 So what do you buy in 2020 if you want an inexpensive ILC that you're going to use primarily for video? Panasonic? I'm thinking of buying used for less than, say, $850 with lens. Probably just leave the kit lens on there for the moment, probably just use it for family videos. I love the form factor of the GX9 but the lack of a mic jack is a bummer. But if I'm not shooting super serious video do I even need a mic jack? Please don't suggest phones, I really hate phones. ens Pandemic Gardens Satisfy A Hunger For More Than Just Good Tomatoes By feedproxy.google.com Published On :: Sat, 09 May 2020 11:59:00 +0000 In this time of fear and uncertainty, people are going back to the land — more or less. Gardening might just be overtaking sourdough baking, TV binging and playing Animal Crossing as our favorite pandemic coping mechanism So here I am in my back yard, where I've got this lovely four foot by eight food raised garden bed — brand new this year, because yes, I'm one of those people who are trying their hand at gardening. I've got tomatoes, I've got cucumbers, I've got radishes, I've got beets sprouting up, I've got what I think might be a zucchini and a spaghetti squash, but the markers washed away in a storm. And I had some watermelon seedlings, but they died in the last cold snap. So that's why I'm out here today — driving in stakes and draping plastic wrap for the next cold snap. I have to be extra careful now, because I couldn't actually replace my watermelon seedlings — garden centers and hardware stores have been picked clean. ens Seeking Covers of Hit Songs for Licensing Placements By feedproxy.google.com Published On :: Wed, 10 Jul 2019 11:38:26 +0000 The post houses and advertising agencies we work with seem to have a never ending demand for covers of popular songs. Therefor, we would like to broaden our catalog with inventive cover versions of compositions that have been big worldwide hits. We are not looking for interpretations trying to imitate the original. We are seeking just the opposite - new takes on well known songs which transport them to new, unexpected directions. Covers are usually considered for film trailers and big ad campaigns, so it would be great to hear submissions that have space and a “cinematic” sound. However, if you have a dynamic, aggressive cover of a slow song, that could work too. Below are some brilliant examples of what we would like to hear: - Skylar Grey - Addicted To Love - Vega Choir - Creep - Lo-Fang - You’re The One That I Want - Hannah Peel - Tainted Love - Think Up Anger feat. Malia J - Smells Like Teen Spirit - Lorde - Everybody Wants To Rule The World - KI Theory - Enjoy The Silence Please submit only professionally recorded and mastered songs. As an added bonus, if your cover is Selected, we will offer to release your music on Filter Label. The songs by our talented artists can be heard in The OA, Exatlon, The Matrix Revisited, CSI: Las Vegas, Nikita, on ads for McDonald's, Nike, Philip Morris, Nestle Wagner, Bank Millennium, in shows on MTV, CNN, Nat Geo, NBC, Al Jazeera, Esquire, Channel 4 and almost every major TV network in the world.- Emil Hadji Panzov Founder / CEO - Filter Label Full Article

ens Seeking Hits for Licensing Placements By feedproxy.google.com Published On :: Thu, 11 Apr 2019 10:02:50 +0000 We have been working tirelessly over the years to build the best catalog of great independent music from various genres. However, there is one area in which we feel we could do better. Therefor, we are seeking Pop music to represent for licensing in films, TV shows and ad campaigns. By “Pop” we are referring more to the broad appeal of the music than the genre. As long as the song has hit potential, we would like to hear it. Genre wise we are open, but indie pop and indie folk seem to work best for licensing placements. Here are some great examples of music that we would like to have in our catalog: - The Lumineers - Ho Hey - Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - Home - Charli XCX - Break The Rules - James Bay - Hold Back The River We accept ONE-STOP submissions only, ie songs that you own or control 100% (writer, master and publisher). Please submit only professionally recorded and mastered songs. NO DEMOS, NO COVERS. As an added bonus, if your song is Selected, we will offer to release your music on Filter Label. ens Contact Lense Issues By ask.metafilter.com Published On :: Sat, 09 May 2020 11:37:11 GMT I stopped wearing contacts for a few months and now they make my eyes red and unhappy even if I only wear them for a few hours. What have I done wrong?I've worn contacts every day for years and years, but I recently stopped bothering on account of being at home all the time anyway. The last two times I tried wearing them, everything felt fine until I took them out and then I had red, irritated eyes and some discharge the next morning. This last time I only left them in for a couple of hours to see if it helped but I've had the same problem. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks! Full Article contactlenses
