In the crystal structure of the title compound, {[Co(C11H9NSO5)(C10H9N3)]0.5C3H7NO·H2O}n or {[Co(dmtb)(dpa)]·0.5DMF·H2O}n (dmtb2– = 5-[(di­meth­yl­amino)­thioxometh­oxy]-1,3-benzene­dicarboxyl­ate and dpa = 4,4'-di­pyridyl­amine), an assembly of periodic [Co(C11H9NSO5)(C10H9N3)]n layers extending parallel to the bc plane is present. Each layer is constituted by distorted [CoO4N2] octa­hedra, which are connected through the μ2-coordination modes of both dmtb2– and dpa ligands. Occupationally disordered water and di­meth­yl­formamide (DMF) solvent mol­ecules are located in the voids of the network to which they are connected through hydrogen-bonding inter­actions.

The title compound, [Ag2(C19H20N2)4]Cl·0.5C2H4Cl2, can be readily generated by treatment of (1-benzyl-3-(2,4,6-tri­methyl­phen­yl)imidazolium chloride with sodium bis­(tri­methyl­sil­yl)amide followed by silver chloride. The mol­ecular structure of the compound was confirmed using NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal structure of the title compound at 110 K has monoclinic (P21/c) symmetry. The represented silver compound is of inter­est with respect to anti­bacterial properties and the structure displays a series of weak inter­molecular hydrogen-bonding inter­actions with the chloride counter-anion.

A new triazole-based N-heterocyclic carbene IrI cationic complex with a tetra­fluorido­borate counter-anion and hemi-solvating di­chloro­methane, [Ir(C8H12)(C8H15N3)(C18H15P)]BF4·0.5CH2Cl2, has been synthesized and structurally characterized. There are two independent ion pairs in the asymmetric unit and one di­chloro­methane solvent mol­ecule per two ion pairs. The cationic complex exhibits a distorted square-planar conformation around the IrI atom, formed by a bidentate cyclo­octa-1,5,diene (COD) ligand, a tri­phenyl­phosphane ligand, and an N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC). There are several close non-standard H⋯F hydrogen-bonding inter­actions that orient the tetra­fluorido­borate anions with respect to the IrI complex mol­ecules. The complex shows promising catalytic activity in transfer hydrogenation reactions. The structure was refined as a non-merohedral twin, and one of the COD mol­ecules is statistically disordered.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2C31H28N2O4S·C2H6O, contains a parent mol­ecule and a half mol­ecule of ethanol solvent. The main compound stabilizes its mol­ecular conformation by forming a ring with an R12(7) motif with the ethanol solvent mol­ecule. In the crystal, mol­ecules are connected by C—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. In addition, C—H⋯π inter­actions also strengthen the mol­ecular packing.

Synthesis and crystal structure of poly[[μ-chlorido-μ-(2,3-di­methyl­pyrazine)-copper(I)] ethanol hemisolvate], which shows a new isomeric CuCl(2,3-di­methyl­pyrazine) network

Reaction of copper(I)chloride with 2,3-di­methyl­pyrazine in ethanol leads to the formation of the title compound, poly[[μ-chlorido-μ-(2,3-di­methyl­pyrazine)-copper(I)] ethanol hemisolvate], {[CuCl(C6H8N2)]·0.5C2H5OH}n or CuCl(2,3-di­methyl­pyrazine) ethanol hemisolvate. Its asymmetric unit consists of two crystallographically independent copper cations, two chloride anions and two 2,3-di­methyl­pyrazine ligands as well as one ethanol solvate mol­ecule in general positions. The ethanol mol­ecule is disordered and was refined using a split model. The methyl H atoms of the 2,3-di­methyl­pyrazine ligands are also disordered and were refined in two orientations rotated by 60° relative to each other. In the crystal structure, each copper cation is tetra­hedrally coordinated by two N atoms of two bridging 2,3-di­methyl­pyrazine ligands and two μ-1,1-bridg­ing chloride anions. Each of the two copper cations are linked by pairs of bridging chloride anions into dinuclear units that are further linked into layers via bridging 2,3-di­methyl­pyrazine coligands. These layers are stacked in such a way that channels are formed in which the disordered solvent mol­ecules are located. The topology of this network is completely different from that observed in the two polymorphic modifications of CuCl(2,3-di­methyl­pyrazine) reported in the literature [Jess & Näther (2006). Inorg. Chem. 45, 7446–7454]. Powder X-ray diffraction measurements reveal that the title compound is unstable and transforms immediately into an unknown crystalline phase.

Development of 18F-Fluoromisonidazole Hypoxia PET/CT Diagnostic Interpretation Criteria and Validation of Interreader Reliability, Reproducibility, and Performance

Tumor hypoxia, an integral biomarker to guide radiotherapy, can be imaged with 18F-fluoromisonidazole (18F-FMISO) hypoxia PET. One major obstacle to its broader application is the lack of standardized interpretation criteria. We sought to develop and validate practical interpretation criteria and a dedicated training protocol for nuclear medicine physicians to interpret 18F-FMISO hypoxia PET. Methods: We randomly selected 123 patients with human papillomavirus–positive oropharyngeal cancer enrolled in a phase II trial who underwent 123 18F-FDG PET/CT and 134 18F-FMISO PET/CT scans. Four independent nuclear medicine physicians with no 18F-FMISO experience read the scans. Interpretation by a fifth nuclear medicine physician with over 2 decades of 18F-FMISO experience was the reference standard. Performance was evaluated after initial instruction and subsequent dedicated training. Scans were considered positive for hypoxia by visual assessment if 18F-FMISO uptake was greater than floor-of-mouth uptake. Additionally, SUVmax was determined to evaluate whether quantitative assessment using tumor-to-background ratios could be helpful to define hypoxia positivity. Results: Visual assessment produced a mean sensitivity and specificity of 77.3% and 80.9%, with fair interreader agreement ( = 0.34), after initial instruction. After dedicated training, mean sensitivity and specificity improved to 97.6% and 86.9%, with almost perfect agreement ( = 0.86). Quantitative assessment with an estimated best SUVmax ratio threshold of more than 1.2 to define hypoxia positivity produced a mean sensitivity and specificity of 56.8% and 95.9%, respectively, with substantial interreader agreement ( = 0.66), after initial instruction. After dedicated training, mean sensitivity improved to 89.6% whereas mean specificity remained high at 95.3%, with near-perfect interreader agreement ( = 0.86). Conclusion: Nuclear medicine physicians without 18F-FMISO hypoxia PET reading experience demonstrate much improved interreader agreement with dedicated training using specific interpretation criteria.

Trump is “laying out the bargain that white patriarchy has offered for white women in this country,” says Littlefield. “He is saying, 'White women, we will protect you from Brown and Black men.'”

Crystal structure and DFT study of (E)-2-chloro-4-{[2-(2,4-di­nitro­phen­yl)hydrazin-1-yl­idene]meth­yl}phenol aceto­nitrile hemisolvate

The title Schiff base compound, C13H9ClN4O5·0.5CH3CN, crystallizes as an aceto­nitrile hemisolvate; the solvent mol­ecule being located on a twofold rotation axis. The mol­ecule is nearly planar, with a dihedral angle between the two benzene rings of 3.7 (2)°. The configuration about the C=N bond is E, and there is an intra­molecular N—H⋯Onitro hydrogen bond present forming an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, mol­ecules are linked by O—H⋯O and N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming layers lying parallel to (10overline{1}). The layers are linked by C—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a supra­molecular framework. Within the framework there are offset π–π stacking inter­actions [inter­centroid distance = 3.833 (2) Å] present involving inversion-related mol­ecules. The DFT study shows that the HOMO and LUMO are localized in the plane extending from the phenol ring to the 2,4-di­nitro­benzene ring, and the HOMO–LUMO gap is found to be 0.13061 a.u.

In the title com­plex, [Cu(C18H12F6N2O4)]·0.5C6H6O2, the CuII ion has a square-planar coordination geometry, being ligated by two N and two O atoms of the tetra­dentate open-chain Schiff base ligand 6,6'-{(1E,1'E)-[ethane-1,2-diylbis(aza­nylyl­idene)]bis­(methanylyl­idene)}bis­[2-(tri­fluoro­meth­oxy)phenol]. The crystal packing is stabilized by intra­molecular O—H⋯O and inter­molecular C—H⋯F, C—H⋯O and C—H⋯π hydrogen bonds. In addition, weak π–π inter­actions form a three-dimensional structure. Hirshfeld surface analysis and two-dimensional fingerprint plots were performed and created to analyze the inter­molecular inter­actions present in the crystal, indicating that the most important contributions for the crystal packing are from F⋯H/H⋯F (25.7%), H⋯H (23.5%) and C⋯H/H⋯C (12.6%) inter­actions.

The title compound, [IrZnI2(C10H15)(C3H9P)2]·0.5C6H6 or [Cp*(PMe3)2Ir]-[ZnI2] (Cp* = cyclo-C5Me5) was obtained and characterized as its benzene solvate [Cp*(PMe3)2Ir]-[ZnI2]·0.5C6H6. The bimetallic complex in this structure contains the Lewis-acidic fragment ZnI2 bonded to the Lewis-basic fragment Cp*(PMe3)2Ir, with an Ir—Zn bond distance of 2.452 (1) Å. The compound was obtained by reacting [Cp*(PMe3)IrI2] with 2-Ad2Zn (2-Ad = 2-adamant­yl), resulting in the reduction of the IrIII complex and formation of the IrI–ZnII adduct. The crystal studied was a twin by non-merohedry with a refined BASF parameter of 0.223 (1).
