An online system, such as a social networking system, recommends pages of content to users. The recommendation is presented in a recommendation unit presenting one or more representations of pages to a user. Additionally, the user may interact with the recommendation unit to change representations of pages presented by the recommendation unit. A representation of a page presented by the recommendation unit includes content from one or more content items on the page selected based on interaction with the content items on the page and types of content included in content items on the page (e.g., image data, video data, destination address). Representations of different pages may differ based on the types of content included in content items selected from the different pages.

Disclosed are a Chinese website classification method and system based on characteristic analysis of a website homepage. The method specifically comprises the following steps: S1, crawling website content; S2, labeling a website type; S3, extracting website information; S4, calculating a weight and representing the weight in the form of a characteristic vector; and S5, classifying the website by comparing the characteristic vector. By utilizing the above Chinese website classification method and system, the noise interference can be alleviated to the greatest extent by only extracting a title and meta-information of the website; by means of pre-processing and characteristic vector expression, the characteristics of the website are accurately expressed with the vector, so that the accuracy of classification is increased; and since only the title and meta-information of the website need to be processed, the quantity of data to be processed is small, and the processing speed is high.

Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can determine a profile model for a page that is accessible through the social networking system, the profile model describing one or more modal characteristics of users of the social networking system that have fanned the page. A determination can be made that the page should be recommended to a first user of the social networking system based at least in part on the profile model. At least one page recommendation that references the page can be provided to the first user.

Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can determine respective geographic locations of a set of users associated with a page that is accessible through a social network. At least one centroid for the page can be generated based at least in part on the respective geographic locations of the set of users. At least one area of influence of the page can be determined based at least in part on the centroid. Forgive me for the following display of ignorance.

I'm looking for someone to develop a simple and attractive static website. I'm agnostic about the development framework. The functionality needed would be a simple landing page that functions as about/contact and a page that would act as a form where users could upload a file (~25MB .wav). The files would be automatically uploaded to Dropbox or Google Drive, etc. (whatever is easiest). I have no visual assets (logos, images, etc.). I have some examples of design I have in mind as models (Jekyll pages, etc.) that I can share with you.

I have never hired anyone for a project of this kind, so I don't know what common practice is re: contract pay, but I have a soft budget of ~1,000USD.

I don't yet have a domain registered anywhere.

Apple has launched a new web page that brings together links and information about its online services for customers shopping from home during the global health crisis.


Titled "Everything you love about our stores is online," the new catch-all page links from the Apple.com home page and includes details about no-contact delivery options, Apple Specialist help, financing and credit options, Apple Trade In, Apple Card, order status checking, service and support.

The page also links out to "Today at Apple - At home," a series of fun how-to videos to help users get creative during the ongoing stay-at-home measures, and there's a series of category links for customers to explore products on Apple's online store.

Apple has been gradually re-opening its retail stores in countries where lockdowns have eased, although some are operating on limited hours.

Apple CEO Tim Cook last week said that Apple was going to reopen stores in Austria and Australia this week, and Apple's sole Apple Store in Vienna will be reopening on Tuesday, May 5.

We're still waiting to hear exactly when stores in North America will reopen, but Cook also said that Apple is planning to reopen a few stores in the U.S. starting in May. Store openings will be staggered, with Apple evaluating data that includes local guidelines and recommendations before reopening.
