A method for forming a vehicular brake rotor involving loading a shaped metal substrate with a mixture of metal alloying components and ceramic particles in a dieheating the contents of the die while applying pressure to melt at least one of the metal components of the alloying mixture whereby to densify the contents of the die and form a ceramic particle-containing metal matrix composite coating on the metallic substrate; and cooling the resulting coated product.

The present invention relates to a sizing composition that, when applied to paper substrate, creates a substrate, preferably suitable for inkjet printing, having increased print density, print sharpness, low HST, and/or image dry time, the substrate preferably having high brightness and reduced color-to-color bleed as well. In addition, the present invention relates to a method of reducing the HST of a paper substrate by applying the sizing composition to at least one surface thereof. Further the application relates to methods of making and using the sizing composition, as well as methods of making and using the paper containing the sizing composition.

A method of manufacturing a thin-film transistor includes forming an oxide semiconductor on a substrate, stacking an insulating layer and a metal layer on the substrate to cover the oxide semiconductor, forming a photosensitive pattern on the metal layer, forming a gate electrode by etching the metal layer using the photosensitive pattern as a mask, where a part of the gate electrode overlaps a first oxide semiconductor region of the oxide semiconductor, forming a gate insulating film by partially etching the insulating layer using the photosensitive pattern as a mask, where the gate insulating film includes a first insulating region with a first thickness under the photosensitive pattern and a second insulating region with a second thickness less than the first thickness, and performing plasma processing on the gate insulating film so that a second oxide semiconductor region of the oxide semiconductor under the second insulating region becomes conductive.

The disclosure provides a liquid crystal display panel, an array substrate and a manufacturing method thereof. In the method, controllable resistance spacer layers are formed on at least one of a source doped region and a drain doped region of a low temperature polysilicon active layer, wherein when a turn-on signal is not applied to the gate layer, the controllable resistance spacer layers serve as a blocking action for a flowing current, and when the turn-on signal is applied to the gate layer, the controllable resistance spacer layers serve as a conducting action for the flowing current, such that a contact region formed of the controllable resistance spacer layers is connected the corresponding source layer and the corresponding drain through the controllable resistance spacer layers. Therefore, the disclosure is capable of effectively decreasing a leakage of a thin film transistor.

Disclosed herein is a display panel in which a space between a color filter substrate and an array substrate is filled with liquid crystals. The cell gap between the color filter substrate and the array substrate is maintained by a column spacer and a filling pattern with which a contact hole is filled. Accordingly, it is possible to stress damage to an alignment film by the movement of the column spacer even if the display panel is deformed by external force. In addition, the contact hole is filled with the filling pattern, thereby suppressing overcoming the problem of insufficient or excessive amount of liquid crystals.

An array substrate and a method of fabricating the same are disclosed. The method has the following steps of: fabricating a switch array layer on a substrate; forming a color resist layer having a red color filter, a green color filter and a blue color filter on the switch array layer, and a through hole in the color resist layer; forming a transparent conductive layer on the color resist layer; and forming a light shield layer on the transparent conductive layer.

Carbon allotropes, a thin-film transistor array substrate comprising the same, and a display device comprising the same are disclosed. The thin-film transistor array substrate comprising a substrate, a gate electrode on the substrate, a gate insulating film on the gate electrode, an active layer positioned on the gate insulating film and comprising a semiconductor material and a plurality of carbon allotropes, and a source electrode and a drain electrode that make contact with the active layer.

For coating substrates (S) having along their surfaces to be coated high aspect ratio vias, a sputtering system has a sputtering source arrangement, which includes a first DC pulse operated magnetron sub-source (1203) and a second frame-shaped magnetron sub-source (1213) which latter is arranged, in the system, between the substrate (S) and the first magnetron sub-source (1203). The second magnetron sub-source (1213) may be operated in DC, pulsed DC, thereby also HIPIMS mode. The first magnetron sub-source (1203) is advantageously also operated in HIPIMS mode. The substrate (S) is biased by an Rf power source (1253).

A film is sputter-deposited on an essentially plane, extended surface of a substrate which has recesses therein, namely at least one of grooves, of holes, of bores, of vias, of trenches. So as to establish on one hand a homogeneous thickness distribution of the film along the addressed surface of the substrate and, on the other hand, a thick film deposition within the recesses, sputter deposition is performed first at a large distance between a sputter surface of a target and the addressed surface of the substrate and then at a reduced distance between the addressed surfaces.

Methods and apparatus for processing a substrate are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a process chamber includes: a chamber body defining an interior volume; a substrate support to support a substrate within the interior volume; a plurality of cathodes coupled to the chamber body and having a corresponding plurality of targets to be sputtered onto the substrate; and a shield rotatably coupled to an upper portion of the chamber body and having at least one hole to expose at least one of the plurality of targets to be sputtered and at least one pocket disposed in a backside of the shield to accommodate and cover at least another one of the plurality of targets not to be sputtered, wherein the shield is configured to rotate about and linearly move along a central axis of the process chamber.

Methods and apparatus for processing substrates are provided herein. In some embodiments, a physical vapor deposition chamber includes a first RF power supply having a first base frequency and coupled to one of a target or a substrate support; and a second RF power supply having a second base frequency and coupled to one of the target or the substrate support, wherein the first and second base frequencies are integral multiples of each other, wherein the second base frequency is modified to an offset second base frequency that is not an integral multiple of the first base frequency.

A detection section is used in such a manner that it is inserted into a living body by being guided by an insertion needle to be stuck and inserted into the living body. The detection section includes a first region, a second region, and a third region. The first region is provided in a tip end portion of the detection section and includes an electrode layer (detection electrode). The third region includes a wiring section and has a smaller width than the width of a slit of the insertion needle. The second region is provided between the first region and the third region and has the same width as the width of the third region by gradually decreasing from the width of the first region.

A substrate for a sensor includes: a base section; a movable section connected to the base section; an arm portion as a support portion extending along the movable section from the base section; a first gap portion having a protrusion portion in which one of the movable section and the arm portion protrudes toward the other of the movable section and the arm portion, and having a predetermined gap between the protrusion portion on one side and the other of the movable section and the support portion; and a second gap portion which is located further toward the base section side than the first gap portion has a gap wider than the predetermined gap, in which in the first gap portion, one of the movable section and the arm portion has a ridge portion on the side facing the first gap portion.

Cations that can precipitate from an aqueous composition to produce scaling are sequestered by adding a multi-dentate ligand to the aqueous composition. The multi-dentate ligand bonds with the cation to form a non-scaling ionic complex; and the aqueous solution with the ionic complex is used in a process that produces substantially pure water from the aqueous composition, where the cation, absent formation of the ionic complex, is subject to scaling. The pH of the aqueous composition (or a brine including components of the aqueous composition) is then reduced to release the cation from the multi-dentate ligand; and the multi-dentate ligand, after the cation is released, is then reused in a predominantly closed loop.

A wiring device includes a housing that encloses a line voltage port and a low-voltage port for providing power to at least one removable load. The removable load can couple to a connector PCB. The connector PCB may include a tongue portion with retention surface features and a body portion with supporting circuitry. The tongue portion may be disposed within a low-voltage port of the wiring device. A plurality of conductive traces may extend from the body to the tongue of the connector PCB. The low voltage port may include sidewalls disposed around the tongue portion to guide the plug of a removable load into engagement with the conductive traces of the tongue portion so that one or more of the plurality of conductive traces electrically contact the removable load to deliver power to the removable load.

A flexible substrate and a flexible display device including the same are disclosed. In one aspect, the flexible substrate includes a first substrate that is flexible and a metal wiring layer over the first substrate and having a first surface facing the first substrate, a second surface opposite to the first surface, and a plurality of holes penetrating the first and second surfaces. The holes are arranged in a plurality of rows. The holes comprise a first hole in an n-th row and a first hole in a (n-1)th row. The first hole of the n-th row is spaced apart from the first hole in the (n-1)th row by a first distance, and an edge of each of the holes is curved.

The present disclosure provides a display substrate and fabricating method, a display panel, and a display apparatus. The display substrate includes a substrate including a sealing region and a driving wire on the substrate. At least a portion of the driving wire is in the sealing region. The portion of the driving wire includes: a first surface, a second surface opposite to the first surface, and sides there-between connecting to the first surface and the second surface. Each side has a projection width on the substrate of at least about 1 μm.

The present application discloses a light emitting diode comprising a plurality of sub-pixels comprising a first electrode layer, wherein the first electrode layer is a reflective electrode layer; a second electrode layer; a light emitting layer between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer; a first microcavity tuning layer sandwiched by the first electrode layer and the light emitting layer within the plurality of sub-pixels; and a second microcavity tuning layer sandwiched by the first microcavity tuning layer and the light emitting layer within at least one of the plurality of sub-pixels, and the first microcavity tuning layer is sandwiched by the first electrode layer and the second microcavity tuning layer within the at least one of the plurality of sub-pixels. The first microcavity tuning layer is made of a material including a transparent conductive material in a first state and the second microcavity tuning layer is made of a material including a transparent conductive material in a second state, the first state and the second state are different states selected from a crystalline state and an amorphous state.

A fluid activatable adhesive for a liner-free label and methods of using are described. Preferably, the adhesive composition includes a polymer, such as an emulsion polymer formed from monomers selected from the group consisting of butyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, methyl acrylate, 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS), a salt of AMPS, such as its sodium salt, styrene, and combinations thereof. The adhesive composition adheres to the liner-free label to the surface of a substrate that is at room temperature, at room temperature and wet, cold, or cold and wet. In preferred embodiments, the substrate is glass or plastic, such as polyethylene terephthalate.

Method and apparatus for lamination of substrates, e.g. rigid plastic layers, to manufacture laminated products. The methods include the sequential application of vacuum and mechanical force through a two-stroke process performed by a lamination apparatus having one or more force-producing stroke cylinders. Actuation of a cylinder to produce a first stroke creates a sealed chamber within the apparatus, enclosing a stack of substrates to be laminated. The sealed chamber may be evacuated of air by application of a vacuum. Subsequent actuation of a cylinder to produce a second stroke applies mechanical force to the sealed chamber, which compresses the substrates into a laminated product substantially free of air bubbles or voids.

In her home country, Esperanza was coerced and threatened into prostitution, and later was trafficked into the United States, where she was subjected to appalling conditions. Esperanza eventually obtained legal help, and applied for something called a T visa. The T visa contains unusual provisions that recognize the unique circumstances of human-trafficking victims in seeking legal status. It has also been a crucial tool to obtaining victims’ coöperation in prosecuting traffickers. The Trump Administration claims to want to fight the problem of human trafficking, but Krajeski notes that its policies have done the opposite: T-visa applicants can now be deported if their applications are rejected. This dramatic change in policy sharply reduced the number of applications from victims seeking help. “If what [the Administration] cares about is putting traffickers in prison, which is what they say they care about, their prosecutions are going down and will go down further,” Martina Vandenberg, the president of the Human Trafficking Legal Center, says. “Trafficking victims under the circumstances can’t actually coöperate.”

The Trump administration has revived the debate over "end-to-end encryption" — systems so secure that the tech companies themselves aren't able to read the messages, even when police present them with a warrant. "It is hard to overstate how perilous this is," U.S. Attorney General William Barr said in a speech last fall. "By enabling dangerous criminals to cloak their communications and activities behind an essentially impenetrable digital shield, the deployment of warrant-proof encryption is already imposing huge costs on society."
