Ep6: How to Cure Tendonitis

Hey there, fellow fitness enthusiasts! It's Marc, and today we're diving deep into the world of tendinitis. If you've ever felt that nagging pain in your tendons, you know it's no joke. But fear not, I've got your back! Let's break it down:

What is Tendinitis?

  • It's the inflammation of the tendon, often caused by overuse, injuries, or even your favorite sports like tennis or golf. I've personally battled with it multiple times, and trust me, it's a real pain (pun intended).

My Personal Tendinitis Journey:

  • I've had my fair share of flare-ups, especially in my left arm and shoulder. From snowboarding mishaps to intense workouts, tendinitis has been an unwelcome guest. But guess what? I've found ways to combat it and I'm here to share them with you!

Marc's Six-Step Tendinitis Recovery Plan:

  1. Cease and Desist: Identify the culprit exercise and take a break from it.
  2. Ice, Ice Baby: Apply ice to the affected area for short durations. It's a game-changer!
  3. Heat Creams: I'm a fan of AST BioFreeze, but Tiger Balm works wonders too.
  4. Support: Invest in braces or supports to immobilize the area.
  5. Ultrasound: A little device that can make a big difference.
  6. Deep Tissue Massage: It might hurt a bit, but the relief is unparalleled.

The Pro Athlete Mindset:

  • Ever wondered how professional athletes bounce back from injuries so quickly? It's not just about the money or the drugs. It's about the mindset, the resources, and the determination to heal and recover.

Final Thoughts:

  • Tendinitis might slow you down, but with the right approach, you can bounce back stronger than ever. Remember, it's not about avoiding the pain but finding ways to heal and grow from it.

Got questions or want to share your tendinitis story? Shoot me an email at Marc@JustAskMarc.com. And don't forget to check out the blog for more fitness stories and tips. Stay strong and keep pushing those boundaries! ????????

Note: Always consult with a medical professional before trying any new treatments or remedies.

Nintendo DS Lite

It was my 28th birthday a little over a week ago. My little brother Garett got me a Nintendo DS Lite and New Super Mario Bros. It was a nice surprise. The DS Lite is a smaller version of the original DS with a brighter screen. It has 2 screens in a case that folds like a clamshell. The lower screen is a touch screen, which adds a whole new dimension to gaming. The DS has 2 speakers, with a surround mode that sounds pretty good. It has a built in microphone for voice commands, a headphone jack, and a AC adapter port. It has a rechargable battery that is supposed to last 15-18 hours on the dimmest screen brightness. When I turned on my DS for the first time, it had me go through some setup screens, like setting the time and date, choosing a profile name and color, and choosing some other preferences. After that it shows a default screen when it is turned on. The top screen has a clock and calendar, the bottom screen has buttons with different functions. There is a built in picto-chat program, which can be used to chat wirelessly with other DS's. I wish the DS came with more built in programs, such as a notepad, ebook reader, and a scheduler. It would also be nice to have some built in apps that use the Nintendo Wifi connection, like a web browser or instant messenger. New Super Mario Bros is a side-scrolling game that has elements from the 2D Mario games of the past. It has 8 worlds to explore. The world map is drawn in 3D, and is simular to the map style in Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World. The levels are drawn in classic 2D style, with updated backgrounds. Mario and some elements use polygonal models to enable some effects, such as the giant Mario. The graphics are drawn in typical Nintendo style, with bright colors and cute characters. Every level has 3 coins you can collect, to open special paths with require spending 5 coins. If you miss some coins you can always replay a level to try to find them. There are red and green mushroom houses in many of the special paths. In the green houses you can get up to 10 extra lives by hitting a sequence of blocks. New Super Mario Bros. also has 18 minigames that are mostly played using the stylus. There are some creative uses of the stylus, such as using it to aim a slingshot, or draw trampolines. Dani has been playing these mini-games every day. There is also a 2 player mode, which I haven't used because I don't know anyone with a DS. Overall, my DS lite is a very fun toy. I look forward to getting some more games for it. I think I'll start with Mario Kart DS and Metroid Hunters. Brain Age also looks interesting. I hope Nintendo makes a full featured painting cartridge, and more educational games. I think the creative and educational potential of the DS has not been fully realized yet.

Hey bartender, Gimme some Pig Virus

Federal health authorities recommended Monday that doctors suspend using Rotarix, one of two vaccines licensed in the United States against rotavirus, saying the vaccine is contaminated with material from a pig virus. (CNN)

Infants have an immature immune system that naturally gets challenged all the time by germs and toxins from the environment and people. This constant exposure helps the complex primary (mucous membranes and gut) and secondary (cellular blood cells and antibodies) human immune systems to keep the body as free from disease as possible.

Vaccines play havoc with this interweaving of and interplay of organic chemistry and which has an effect on every part of the development of the child. This interference is evident in the latest story of the rotavirus vaccine having a DNA contaminant from an animal during its manufacture. this discovery was by chance through a research group's examination of vaccines looking for any such contamination.

Rotavirus symptoms in babies and toddlers tend to be much more serious because of their developing immune system. (www.whattoexpect.com)

Doesn't it stand to reason that the "developing immune system" is also heavily tested by vaccines?

Around 4 to 5 million babies are born in the US each year. 100 infants have been reported by the CDC to die from rotavirus each year, which is a severe stomach ailment. We'll never know the huge toll getting vaccines takes on infants because the government, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and establishment medicine, close their eyes to this travesty in favor of the money to be made from vaccines. 1 million children received the vaccine for rotavirus already this year.

Almost all children have become infected with rotavirus by their third birthday. Repeat infections with different viral strains are possible, and most children have several episodes of rotavirus infection in the first years of life. After several infections with different strains of the virus, children acquire immunity to rotavirus. (www.medicinenet.com)

Vaccines for rotavirus require multiple doses, and most vaccines do not confer lifelong immunity, as do the antibodies to the actual germs.

And, as the drug companies like to state, the bottom line is that no one can prove the efficacy of any vaccines because there has never been a scientific double-blind study to prove they work. The statistics cited by the CDC are admittedly self-serving and vague in order to provide P R for citizens to line up for their vaccines.

As for me--my own DNA is quite enough, thank you. I'll pass on the pig virus.

New Bankruptcy Law Not Having Intended Effect

But if the past three months are any indication, those so called dead-beats are few and far between.

The Joy of the Resurrection Extends Even to Samaritans, Gentiles, and Us

The good news of our Lord’s resurrection extends to everyone and the entire world. The Church directs our attention during the Paschal season to how some very different people came to share in the life of our Lord, such as the disciple Thomas, the Myrrh-Bearing Women, Joseph of Arimathea, Nicodemus, and the paralyzed man. Today we focus on someone who was different from all of them by worldly standards, for they were Jews and she was a Samaritan. We know her in the Church as the Great Martyr Photini, but in that time and place she would have seemed a very unlikely candidate to become a great evangelist of Christ’s salvation.
