6 FC personnel martyred in IED blast near Pak-Iran border

Five Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers and one officer were martyred after their vehicle was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED) near the Pakistan-Iran border, the military's media wing said on Friday.

In a tweet, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the security personnel were returning from patrolling in Buleda — 14 kilometres from the Pakistan-Iran border — to "check possible routes used by terrorists in the mountainous terrain of Makran".

As they were returning, their vehicle was targeted with a remote controlled IED, it added.

The martyred were identified as Major Nadeem, Naik Jamshed, Lance Naik Khizar Hayat, Lance Naik Taimor, Sepoy Nadeem and Sepoy Sajid.

In December 2019, one FC soldier was martyred and two others were injured in an exchange of fire with terrorists after they raided an FC checkpost in North Waziristan.

"Terrorists raided an FC post in North Waziristan district near the Pak-Afghan border," an ISPR statement had said.

"During the exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed," it had added.

North Carolina is developing a unique and innovative infrastructure to support integrated physical, behavioral, and social health care. Efforts by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, the Foundation for Health Leadership & Innovation, Cone Health, Atrium Health, and the One Charlotte Health Alliance advance our understanding of how to best operationalize the design and payment of integrated services. Best practices such as the collaborative care and primary care behavioral health models reduce inefficiencies and disparities by bringing together teams of primary care and behavioral health care providers.

Intranasal midazolam for treating acute respiratory crises in a woman with stiff person syndrome

Stiff person syndrome (SPS) is a rare neurologic disorder characterized by progressively worsening rigidity and spasms of the axial and limb muscles. Dyspnea has been recently recognized as a common symptom in SPS,1 and life-threatening respiratory crises have been occasionally reported and suspected to be responsible for sudden death in these patients.2,3 The pathophysiologic mechanisms of these respiratory manifestations remain unclear. Some authors have hypothesized that rigidity and/or spasm of the muscles of the trunk could prevent normal rib cage movements and excursion of the diaphragm.1

A Champagne Bottle Sized 'My Personal Bottomless Mimosa' Glass

Just in time for Mother's Day/continued at-home quarantine comes this 750mL 'My Personal Bottomless Mimosa' glass from BigMouth, Inc and available on Amazons. The surprisingly all-glass drinkware (but still hand-wash only on account of the decorations) combines the shape of a champagne bottle with a mimosa glass to holds 8 (read: 2-3) servings, and is perfect for letting the rest of your family know you're not to be bothered for the rest of the day because it may still be early here but, dammit, it's 5 o'clock somewhere that's nine and half hours ahead. Thanks to Tracey H, who informed me she can't count the number of times she's been asked to leave a bottomless brunch for really putting its bottomlessness to the test. Heck yeah, that's called doing God's work.

Dual personalities visualized for shape-shifting molecule

Researchers have made a breakthrough in understanding the structure of a key genetic molecule, called RNA, and revealing for the first time how these changes impact RNA's function. The research team developed a bioinformatics technique to resolve separate structures of RNA rather than viewing them as a 'blur' that averaged multiple structures. This underpinned their discovery that the structure of RNA can influence how cells function.
