Pomodoro-style apps that are more gamified

I've tried a bunch of pomodoro-style apps that I haven't done well with. I recently found one that's like Pomodoro except there's a growing plant, and if you mess with your phone you'll kill the plant. This works for me for whatever reason. I was wondering if anyone knew of other apps like that; especially ones with more real-world consequences. I guess my will isn't strong enough to not mess with my phone just because some timer is counting down. But the charming messages about the poor little plant and the cute drawings appeal to me apparently.

I saw this app PocketPoints, which would be great except it only works at participating schools.

I'm also not interested in those apps that quantify how often you check your phone.

This is for iOS please.

Thanks!

Say Her Name: How The Fight For Racial Justice Can Be More Inclusive Of Black Women

Philando Castile, Eric Garner and George Floyd. The deaths of these Black men at the hands of police have fueled outrage over police brutality and systemic racism. Men make up the vast majority of people shot and killed by police. But the names of Black women who were also killed are generally missing from Americans' collective memories, says Kimberlé Crenshaw, co-founder and executive director of the African American Policy Forum . The Say Her Name campaign, created by Crenshaw's group in 2014, is meant to include women in the national conversation about race and policing. A few women's names and stories, such as Breonna Taylor, who was shot and killed by Louisville, Ky., police executing a no-knock search warrant in March, have been part of the Black Lives Matter movement. But others have not — women such as Michelle Cusseaux and Kayla Moore. In 2014, Cusseaux was shot by police in her Phoenix home while they were attempting to take her to a mental health facility. In 2013, police

Savannah Mayor Van Johnson On Handling COVID-19, Racial Justice And More — In His First 6 Months

America’s mayors have taken center stage in 2020. Big city mayors feuded with state and federal officials over COVID-19 protections and resources, and have been praised — and condemned — for their handling of protests sparked by the death of George Floyd. These crises may be unfolding on a national and international scale, but affect lives in every American city and town. Outside of Atlanta’s national spotlight, Savannah Mayor Van Johnson is working to address these issues head-on.

More Than A Month Since Election Day, Trump, Clinton Teams Can't Let It Go

To glance at some of the political news this week, you'd think it was October. Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta did Meet the Press over the weekend to talk about Russia hacking the DNC's emails. Hillary Clinton aide Brian Fallon took to Twitter on Tuesday to question the FBI's investigation into Clinton's emails. Donald Trump and Bill Clinton sniped at each other. But it's mid-December. The voters and electors alike have cast their votes. And while millions of Americans are doubtless more than happy to have Election Day well behind them, they can still plan on hearing still more about the election in the coming days or even weeks. There's good reason for some of the continuing concern over the election. The FBI and CIA alike say they are now confident Russia hacked the DNC's emails, that Putin was involved, and it was all in an attempt to influence the election in Trump's favor. That could have very real repercussions. President Obama told NPR's Steve Inskeep that Russia's

Restaurants Would Get More Flexibility With Workers' Tips Under Proposed Rule

The Trump administration has proposed a new rule governing the wages of tipped employees, after an earlier effort sparked a backlash from waitstaff, bartenders and other workers. The proposed rule from the Labor Department would allow employers to require more widespread sharing of tips with "back of the house" coworkers, such as cooks and dishwashers. The rule makes clear, however, that employers cannot pocket those tips or use them to reward managers and supervisors. The rule would also give employers more flexibility in assigning non-tipped tasks to workers who rely on gratuities for a big part of their income. The proposal was cheered by the restaurant industry. But workers' advocates and some lawmakers say they still have some concerns. "This rule establishes once and for all an appropriate balance, and ends arbitrary and capricious regulations," said Angelo Amador, regulatory counsel for the National Restaurant Association. "We commend the U.S. Department of Labor for providing

Never More Present Than When It Hurts

Pain brings you down. Pain brings you back to reality. Pain brings you back to God... pain means you're on the right path. The clarity you gain through trial is a gift and a blessing. The fact that you are called upon to endure trial shows that the Lord Jesus sees in you something precious which He desires to develop. If he saw nothing whereby He might glorify His name, He would not spend time in refining, (MH, 471). Despite difficulties, having faith in God and in His Word will see you through. He will preserve you through tribulation. He will provide for you through need. "The God who has been sufficient until now, should be trusted to the end," (C.H.S.). Tune in now to learn more. 1.- Are the current events that we are seeing the sign of Jonah, as spoken of in the Bible ? 2.- Does the second beast of Revelation 13 verses 16 and 17 have anything to do with the Christian Nationalist Movement ? 3.- When we die, does it matter where our physical body is buried ? 4.- Will you please explain Revelation 3 verse 10 ? 5.- Are the tares in the parable those who say Jesus is not divine, or who deny that Jesus is God ? 6.- Was the rain cloud that Elijah saw also the chariot coming to pick him up ? 7.- Should we be careful what we pray for ? 8.- Is the Lord going to provide for us in the last days as he did for Elijah ? 9.- Does the Bible say anything about bringing a pet into the Sanctuary ? 10.- Why do some Christians observe Easter on a Monday instead of Sunday ? 11.- Will you please explain Revelation 10 verse 11 ? 12.- What happens to the people that are not raised in the first resurrection ? 13.- Was Satan cast out of Heaven before or after the Earth was created ? 14.- In Genesis 6 verse 6, there seems to be a conflict that questions the omniscience of God. Don't want this temporary. Yearn for something more, for forever with God in the midst of absolute love and beauty and perfection, and peace. Tune in now ! 1.- How is a Christian supposed to deal with certain political regulations that are completely against the Bible ? 2.- Who is God referring to in the previous verse ?
