Ngx-Bootstrap has released a package of open-source tools which are native Angular directives for Bootstrap 3 and 4. It contains all core components powered by Angular. In this article, we will learn about the Typehead component which is a cool feature of Ngx-bootstrap.

What Is Typeahead?

Typeahead — Also known as autocomplete or autosuggest is a language prediction tool that many search interfaces use to provide suggestions for users as they type in a textbox. This is a method for searching and filtering through text. It is also sometimes known as autocomplete, incremental search, search-as-you-type, and inline search.

A carrying strap for supporting an object is described. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the carrying strap comprises a neck pad for distributing the object's weight over the user's neck, the neck pad having inner or first, and outer or second sides affixed to each other along perimeter, wherein the first side is configured to contact backside of the user's neck and the first side comprises two partially overlapped layers in a mirror-image orientation to form an open slot, located substantially near center portion of the neck pad, which is configured for housing a removable cushion that provides extra cushion to the backside of the user's neck; at least one hook for securing the object; and an extension portion connecting the neck pad and the at least one hook.

A bilateral cargo strap system is provided as a means of securing a variety of different cargo within a storage area. The bilateral cargo strap system utilizes a combination of elastic straps with perpendicularly positioned stabilizing rods to improve retention of a variety of cargo within a storage area. The elastic straps extend over the retained cargo and are used as the means of engaging mounting features within the storage area. The stabilizing rods effectively distribute the tension force of the elastic straps over the retained cargo securing it in place within the storage space. The bilateral cargo strap system is versatile and may be used to secure a wide variety of cargo including, but not limited to, kayaks, coolers, bicycles, lumber, and construction equipment.

Some embodiments include a novel laced strapping system that provides a plurality of attachment points by which a tie-down lace can adjust the fit of a cargo mesh webbing to secure loads of items in an open bed of a vehicle. In some embodiments, the vehicle is a pick-up truck with a cargo bed. In some embodiments, the mesh webbing comprises a first truck bed mesh, a second truck bed mesh, and the plurality of attachment points. In some embodiments, tie-down lace interconnects the attachment points to secure together the first mesh and the second mesh.

Stake pocket formations are secured to a cargo bed frame of a land vehicle such as trailers and flatbed trucks for removably supporting sidewall supporting members. The formations include sidewalls secured to and projecting from the frame and an end wall extending between the sidewalls. An opening extends through the end wall and is adapted to receive the terminal end of a J-hook therethrough. The J-hook is secured to the formation by inserting the terminal end thereof into the pocket placing an upper edge of the end wall into the J-hook gap and rolling/rotating the J-hook thereby inserting the terminal end into the opening. The J-hook cannot be removed from the pocket unless it is rolled/rotated in the opposite direction. While within the stake pocket and without strap tension, the J-hook abuts the trailer frame and formation end wall and is, thereby, maintained within the pocket.

A cargo strap with carrying handle and mechanism for securing the cargo strap around a load. A first end of the cargo strap is preferably removably anchored to the strap securing mechanism by a clevis pin that permits rapid and easy disconnection of the first end of the cargo strap from the strap securing mechanism. The second end of the cargo strap is retained within the strap securing mechanism and prevented from removal therefrom by a stop proximate the second end of the cargo strap. The stop is preferably constructed as a loop formed in the second end of the cargo strap and sewn to the strap with a strap flap portion intermediate the second end of the cargo strap and the strap securing mechanism. The strap securing mechanism preferably has either a ratchet style mechanism with a reel or a modified cam buckle mechanism.

A feeding and reversing mechanism for a strapping machine includes a forward-reverse wheel assembly and a tension wheel assembly which are mounted on a base and arranged in such a way to provide larger contact areas between a strapping band and the two wheel assemblies. The feeding and reversing mechanism further includes first and second spring units. The first spring unit helps to keep a suitable gap between an active wheel and a passive wheel of the tension wheel assembly for the strapping band to pass through. The second spring unit helps to move the passive wheel toward the active wheel of the tension wheel assembly, so that the strapping band can be clamped between the passive wheel and the active wheel tightly to facilitate reversing and tightening of the strapping band.

A debris sweep and dry assist device is for use with a strapping machine. The debris sweep and dry assist device is positioned between the strapping machine and an associated strap supply. The device includes a body having a strap inlet and a strap outlet and defining a strap path therethrough. The body has a first wall at about the strap inlet and a second wall at about the strap outlet. The body has a first manifold and a plurality of first branches extending between the first manifold and the first wall to provide a plurality of flow paths from the first manifold to the environs through the first branches. A compressed is gas directed into the first manifold and flows out of the first branches, and is directed onto strap material at a location at about the strap inlet.

A bootstrap assist circuit and a startup circuit comprising a voltage controlled switch and a startup ramp voltage generator connected to the voltage controlled switch that will control a high side switch, a dimming interface or an enable/disable input function. A self-actuating tension head for a strapping machine includes a body defining a strap path, a drive wheel, a tension wheel a fixed distance from the drive wheel and a pinch wheel. The strap path extends between the tension and pinch wheels. A first link operably connects the drive and tension wheels and defines a first pivot arm that is pivotable about the drive wheel axis of rotation. A second link operably connects the tension and pinch wheels and defines a second pivot arm that is pivotable about the pinch wheel axis and movable along the second pivot arm to move the tension wheel into and out of engagement with the pinch wheel. The first and second pivot arms define an energizing angle therebetween that decreases as the tension wheel is moved into engagement with the pinch wheel and increases as the tension wheel is moved out of engagement with the pinch wheel.

A universal wrist strap, for connection to a plurality of different bowstring release mechanisms via a plurality of different connecting members, includes a flexible base member adapted to fit around the wrist of a user and a mounting assembly connected to the wrist strap. The flexible base member has first and second arms that converge towards an apex area. The mounting assembly is connected to the apex area and is adapted to receive and retain the plurality of different connecting members.

In accordance with one embodiment, a display strap for displaying a first article of clothing (e.g., a tie) with a second article of clothing (e.g., a hanky, etc.) includes an elongated strap body having a first end and an opposing second end along with a top edge and an opposing bottom edge. Abstract:
We address the issue of performing testing inference in small samples in the class of beta regression models. We consider the likelihood ratio test and its standard bootstrap version. We also consider two alternative resampling-based tests. One of them uses the bootstrap test statistic replicates to numerically estimate a Bartlett correction factor that can be applied to the likelihood ratio test statistic. By doing so, we avoid estimation of quantities located in the tail of the likelihood ratio test statistic null distribution. The second alternative resampling-based test uses a fast double bootstrap scheme in which a single second level bootstrapping resample is performed for each first level bootstrap replication. It delivers accurate testing inferences at a computational cost that is considerably smaller than that of a standard double bootstrapping scheme. The Monte Carlo results we provide show that the standard likelihood ratio test tends to be quite liberal in small samples. They also show that the bootstrap tests deliver accurate testing inferences even when the sample size is quite small. An empirical application is also presented and discussed.

Abstract:
We review bootstrap methods in the context of survey data where the effect of the sampling design on the variability of estimators has to be taken into account. We present the methods in a unified way by classifying them in three classes: pseudo-population, direct, and survey weights methods. We cover variance estimation and the construction of confidence intervals for stratified simple random sampling as well as some unequal probability sampling designs. We also address the problem of variance estimation in presence of imputation to compensate for item non-response.

This paper proposes a numerical bootstrap method that is consistent in many cases where the standard bootstrap is known to fail and where the $m$-out-of-$n$ bootstrap and subsampling have been the most commonly used inference approaches. We provide asymptotic analysis under both fixed and drifting parameter sequences, and we compare the approximation error of the numerical bootstrap with that of the $m$-out-of-$n$ bootstrap and subsampling. Finally, we discuss applications of the numerical bootstrap, such as constrained and unconstrained M-estimators converging at both regular and nonstandard rates, Laplace-type estimators, and test statistics for partially identified models.

Abstract:
Suppose that a confidence region is desired for a subvector $ heta $ of a multidimensional parameter $xi =( heta ,psi )$, based on an M-estimator $hat{xi }_{n}=(hat{ heta }_{n},hat{psi }_{n})$ calculated from a random sample of size $n$. Under nonstandard conditions $hat{xi }_{n}$ often converges at a nonregular rate $r_{n}$, in which case consistent estimation of the distribution of $r_{n}(hat{ heta }_{n}- heta )$, a pivot commonly chosen for confidence region construction, is most conveniently effected by the $m$ out of $n$ bootstrap. The above choice of pivot has three drawbacks: (i) the shape of the region is either subjectively prescribed or controlled by a computationally intensive depth function; (ii) the region is not transformation equivariant; (iii) $hat{xi }_{n}$ may not be uniquely defined. To resolve the above difficulties, we propose a one-dimensional pivot derived from the criterion function, and prove that its distribution can be consistently estimated by the $m$ out of $n$ bootstrap, or by a modified version of the perturbation bootstrap. This leads to a new method for constructing confidence regions which are transformation equivariant and have shapes driven solely by the criterion function. A subsampling procedure is proposed for selecting $m$ in practice. Empirical performance of the new method is illustrated with examples drawn from different nonstandard M-estimation settings. Extension of our theory to row-wise independent triangular arrays is also explored.

Abstract:
Several new methods have been recently proposed for performing valid inference after model selection. An older method is sample splitting: use part of the data for model selection and the rest for inference. In this paper, we revisit sample splitting combined with the bootstrap (or the Normal approximation). We show that this leads to a simple, assumption-lean approach to inference and we establish results on the accuracy of the method. In fact, we find new bounds on the accuracy of the bootstrap and the Normal approximation for general nonlinear parameters with increasing dimension which we then use to assess the accuracy of regression inference. We define new parameters that measure variable importance and that can be inferred with greater accuracy than the usual regression coefficients. Finally, we elucidate an inference-prediction trade-off: splitting increases the accuracy and robustness of inference but can decrease the accuracy of the predictions.

Abstract:
In this article, we present data-subsetting algorithms that allow for the approximate and scalable implementation of the Bayesian bootstrap. They are analogous to two existing algorithms in the frequentist literature: the bag of little bootstraps (Kleiner et al., 2014) and the subsampled double bootstrap (Sengupta et al., 2016). Our algorithms have appealing theoretical and computational properties that are comparable to those of their frequentist counterparts. Additionally, we provide a strategy for performing lossless inference for a class of functionals of the Bayesian bootstrap and briefly introduce extensions to the Dirichlet Process.
