Tables summarize volume and values of United States trade in wood products from 1978 to 2005. Import and export data are shown for 21 commodities aggregated from over 1,700 wood products. The U.S. Forest Service has adopted the concept and language of ecosystem services to describe the beneficial outcomes of national forest management. When it comes to pulling off a trade, three is sometimes not a crowd, but a necessity. With that in mind, here is a look back at 10 of the most notable three-way trades from recent history.
