idi Hiding child instances By community.cadence.com Published On :: Thu, 17 Oct 2024 00:29:06 GMT I'm trying to do what I believe should be a very simple and straightforward thing but after much reading appears to be quite complicated. I'm test-benching the digital portion of a mixed-signal circuit that's instantiated a few hundred times. Each instance has some digital controls, and an analog portion. To greatly speed up the simulation, I'd like to hide the analog portion, which is neatly contained in one or two cell views deep down the hierarchy, and then unhide it after simulation has ended so it doesn't mess up other peoples' sims Just as an example, say there's an op-amp that from the top level is contained in instance "I<0:511>/I3/I15/I0". First off, I don't know how to iterate through the 512 instantiations of the top level cell, but let's say we're just working with the I0 instance. I thought it would just be schIgnore(?objectId "I<0:511>/I3/I15/I0" ?setIgnore t) Of course this doesn't work. I can get the top level cell dbId with cv = dbOpenCellViewByType("library" "cell" "schematic" "" "a") And then I can grab the instance ID with inst = dbFindAnyInstByName(cv "I0") This gives me something, but then I'm lost from here. If I use the ~>master to get an Id from inst, I cannot recursively use dbFindAnyInstByName to traverse down the hierarchy. Also the value this returned seems to be meaningless, it can't be used by the schIgnore command. I'm not sure what the schIgnore command is actually even looking for. So I guess I'm trying to loop through two things, one is to traverse down the hierarchy and grab the ID of a child instance so I can schIgnore it, and another is to iterate through all the top level instances to hide the child instance within each of them. idi China clamps down on quest for soup dumplings by 'Night Riding Army' By www.voanews.com Published On :: Mon, 11 Nov 2024 00:08:46 -0500 BEIJING — Police in central China imposed traffic curbs at the weekend to halt a viral craze in which thousands of university students borrowed shared bikes to ride overnight to the city of Kaifeng in search of breakfast. The "Night Riding Army," as some participants described it, clogged a highway on Friday, pictures posted on social media showed, a surge in turnout for a rolling flash mob that had been gathering riders for months. "Last night's 'Night Riding Army' was spectacular!" one rider posted. "Two lanes were opened, but that simply was not enough: The cycling army accounted for four!" The event was part of a trend of young Chinese traveling on the cheap - "like special forces" - and spending as little as possible at a time of scarce job prospects, when wages are under pressure. The riders traveled on a straight road more than 60 km (37 miles) long beside the Yellow River that links Zhengzhou, the largest city in Henan province, with Kaifeng, an ancient capital famed for its soup dumplings. The trend was set off in June, Chinese media said, after four women college students chronicled their ride on social media to eat dumplings in the morning. "The Night Ride to Kaifeng: Youth is priceless, enjoy it in time," was the hashtag on social media for the ride, which state broadcaster CMG said tens of thousands of students had completed by the weekend. Key to its success was a glut of shared bikes, which can be rented for as little as $1.95 a month. Pictures posted by riders showed thousands of the bikes had overrun downtown Kaifeng by Saturday. In addition to the traffic controls, the largest bike-sharing platforms, Hellobike, DiDi Bike, and Mobile, said their vehicles would lock down if ridden out of a designated zone, while media told the students to grow up. "Youthful freedom does not mean following the trend and indulging oneself," one news outlet admonished in a comment. "Kaifeng is worth arriving slowly and savoring carefully," read the headline of another. Chinese authorities have cracked down on other spontaneous gatherings. Last month, police turned out in force in the commercial hub of Shanghai to deter a repeat of 2023 Halloween celebrations in which some revelers wore costumes poking fun at issues such as the stock market, youth unemployment and tough COVID-19 curbs. idi Impact of Dimensional Variability of Primary Packaging Materials on the Break-Loose and Gliding Forces of Prefilled Syringes By journal.pda.org Published On :: 2024-10-22T08:20:35-07:00 A prefilled syringe (PFS) should be able to be adequately and consistently extruded during injection for optimal safe drug delivery and accurate dosing. To facilitate appropriate break-loose and gliding forces (BLGFs) required during injection, certain primary packaging materials (PPMs) such as the syringe barrel and plunger are usually coated with silicone oil, which acts as a lubricant. Due to its direct contact with drug, silicone oil can increase the number of particles in the syringe, which could lead to adverse interactions. Compliance with regulatory-defined silicone oil quantities in certain drug products, such as ophthalmics, presents a trade-off with the necessity for desirable low and consistent BLGF. In addition to its siliconization, the dimensional accuracy of the PPM has an important role in controlling the BLGF. The dimensions of the PPM are individualized depending on the product and its design and have certain tolerances that must be met during manufacturing. Most studies on ophthalmics focused on the adverse interactions between silicone oil and the drug. To the authors' knowledge, there have been no public studies so far that have investigated the impact of the dimensional variability of the PPM on the BLGF in ophthalmic PFSs. In this study, we applied advanced optical shaft and tactile measuring technologies to investigate this impact. The syringes investigated were first sampled during aseptic production and tested for the BLGF. Subsequently, defined dimensions of the PPM were measured individually. The results showed that the dimensional variability of the PPM can have a negative impact on the BLGF, despite their conformity to specifications, which indicates that the currently available market quality of PPMs is improvable for critical drug products such as ophthalmics. This study could serve as an approach to define product-specific requirements for primary packaging combinations and thus appropriate specifications based on data during the development stage of drug products. idi Multidisciplinary management of adult patients with chylothorax: a consensus statement By erj.ersjournals.com Published On :: 2024-11-07T00:35:55-08:00 The management of chylothorax remains challenging given the limited evidence and significant heterogeneity in practice. In addition, there are no practical guidelines on the optimal approach to manage this complex condition. We convened an international group of 27 experts from 20 institutions across five countries and four specialties (pulmonary, interventional radiology, thoracic surgery and nutrition) with experience and expertise in managing adult patients with chylothorax. We performed a literature and internet search for reports addressing seven clinically relevant PICO (Patient, Intervention, Comparison and Outcome) questions pertaining to the management of adult patients with chylothorax. This consensus statement, consisting of best practice statements based on expert consensus addressing these seven PICO questions, was formulated by a systematic and rigorous process involving the evaluation of published evidence, augmented with provider experience. Panel members participated in the development of the final best practice statements using the modified Delphi technique. Our consensus statement aims to offer guidance in clinical decision making when managing patients with chylothorax while also identifying gaps in knowledge and informing future research. Full Article
idi Innovations in Providing HIV Index Testing Services: A Retrospective Evaluation of Partner Elicitation Models in Southern Nigeria By ghspjournal.org Published On :: 2024-10-29T12:28:39-07:00 ABSTRACTBackground: This analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of eliciting sexual partners from HIV-positive clients using the elicitation box model (where an HIV-positive index can report sexual contacts on paper and insert in a box for a health care provider to contact at a later time) compared to the conventional model (in which a health care provider elicits sexual contacts directly from clients) in Akwa Ibom, Southern Nigeria. Methods: Between March 2021 and April 2022, data were collected from index testing registers at 4 health facilities with a high volume of HIV clients currently on treatment in 4 local government areas in Akwa Ibom State. Primary outcome analyzed was the elicitation ratio (number of partners elicited per HIV-index offered index testing services). Secondary outcomes were the index testing acceptance (index HIV-positive clients accepted index testing service), testing coverage (partners tested for HIV from a list of partners elicited from HIV-index accepted index testing services), testing yield (index partners identified HIV positive from index partners HIV-tested), and linkage rate (index partners identified HIV positive and linked to antiretroviral therapy). Results: Of the total 2,705 index clients offered index testing services, 91.9% accepted, with 2,043 and 439 indexes opting for conventional elicitation and elicitation box models, respectively. A total of 3,796 sexual contacts were elicited: 2,546 using the conventional model (elicitation ratio=1:1) and 1,250 using the elicitation box model (elicitation ratio=1:3). Testing coverage was significantly higher in the conventional compared to the elicitation box model (P<.001). However, there was no significant difference in the testing yield (P=.81) and linkage rate using the conventional compared to elicitation box models (P=.13).Conclusion: The implementation of the elicitation box model resulted in an increase in partner elicitation compared to the conventional model. Increasing the testing coverage by implementing the elicitation box model should be considered. Full Article
idi KLS-13019, a Novel Structural Analogue of Cannabidiol and GPR55 Receptor Antagonist, Prevents and Reverses Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy in Rats [Special Section: Cannabinoid Signaling in Human Health and Disease] By jpet.aspetjournals.org Published On :: 2024-10-18T07:04:15-07:00 Neuropathic pain is a form of chronic pain that develops because of damage to the nervous system. Treatment of neuropathic pain is often incompletely effective, and most available therapeutics have only moderate efficacy and present side effects that limit their use. Opioids are commonly prescribed for the management of neuropathic pain despite equivocal results in clinical studies and significant abuse potential. Thus, neuropathic pain represents an area of critical unmet medical need, and novel classes of therapeutics with improved efficacy and safety profiles are urgently needed. The cannabidiol structural analog and novel antagonist of GPR55, KLS-13019, was screened in rat models of neuropathic pain. Tactile sensitivity associated with chemotherapy exposure was induced in rats with once-daily 1-mg/kg paclitaxel injections for 4 days or 5 mg/kg oxaliplatin every third day for 1 week. Rats were then administered KLS-13019 or comparator drugs on day 7 in an acute dosing paradigm or days 7–10 in a chronic dosing paradigm, and mechanical or cold allodynia was assessed. Allodynia was reversed in a dose-dependent manner in the rats treated with KLS-13019, with the highest dose reverting the response to prepaclitaxel injection baseline levels with both intraperitoneal and oral administration after acute dosing. In the chronic dosing paradigm, four consecutive doses of KLS-13019 completely reversed allodynia for the duration of the phenotype in control animals. Additionally, coadministration of KLS-13019 with paclitaxel prevented the allodynic phenotype from developing. Together, these data suggest that KLS-13019 represents a potential new drug for the treatment of neuropathic pain. SIGNIFICANCE STATEMENT Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a common, debilitating side effect of cancer treatment with no known cure. The GPR55 antagonist KLS-13019 represents a novel class of drug for this condition that is a potent, durable inhibitor of allodynia associated with CIPN in rats in both prevention and reversal-dosing paradigms. This novel therapeutic approach addresses a critical area of unmet medical need. Full Article
idi The diagnostic odyssey of a patient with dihydropyrimidinase deficiency: a case report and review of the literature [RESEARCH REPORT] By molecularcasestudies.cshlp.org Published On :: 2024-01-10T08:13:38-08:00 Dihydropyrimidinase (DHP) deficiency is an autosomal recessive metabolic disorder caused by biallelic pathogenic variants of DPYS. Patients with DHP deficiency exhibit a broad spectrum of phenotypes, ranging from severe neurological and gastrointestinal involvement to cases with no apparent symptoms. The biochemical diagnosis of DHP deficiency is based on the detection of a significant amount of dihydropyrimidines in urine, plasma, and cerebrospinal fluid samples. Molecular genetic testing, specifically the identification of biallelic pathogenic variants in DPYS, has proven instrumental in confirming the diagnosis and facilitating family studies. This case study documents the diagnostic journey of an 18-yr-old patient with DHP deficiency, highlighting features at the severe end of the clinical spectrum. Notably, our patient exhibited previously unreported skeletal features that positively responded to bisphosphonate treatment, contributing valuable insights to the clinical characterization of DHP deficiency. Additionally, a novel DPYS variant was identified and confirmed pathogenicity through metabolic testing, further expanding the variant spectrum of the gene. Our case emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive diagnostic approach using genetic sequencing and metabolic testing for accurate diagnosis. Full Article

idi I am deeply enamoured by Dragon Age: The Veilguard's intricate and ridiculous fashion design By www.rockpapershotgun.com Published On :: Fri, 01 Nov 2024 11:53:53 +0000 Some extremely fresh vintage workwear that I bought for entirely practical reasons aside, I’m not exactly a fashion person.
