According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, interfacing between a plurality of applications for display on a mobile device includes receiving, by an interface, a request to open a plurality of applications. The plurality of applications are associated with a plurality of business units and comprise one or more native applications and one or more web applications. A processor opens the plurality of applications in a container according to a configuration file. The processor is communicatively coupled to the interface. The container is operable to be displayed on a user interface of the mobile device.

A method and apparatus of adaptive image and video coding including an alternative transform other than the discrete cosine transform (DCT) and discrete sine transform (DST) type VII (DST-VII) are disclosed. For at least one block size belonging to the size group, a transform from multiple transforms comprising an alternative transform in addition to DCT and DST-VII is selected and applied to a current block. The alternative transform may correspond to DCT type IV (DCT-IV) or DST type IV (DST-IV).

Technologies for native code invocation using binary analysis are described. A computing device for invoking native code from managed code using binary analysis receives a call from a thread executing a managed code segment to execute a native code segment. The computing device performs a binary analysis of the native code segment and generates, from the binary analysis, a complexity indicator that indicates a level of complexity of the native code segment by comparing the native code segment to at least one predefined complexity rule. Additionally, the computing device stores a status of the thread based on the complexity indicator and executes the native code segment. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

“What does a landscape dream of in its unsettled dreams?” Todd Davis’s newest collection of poems, titled “Native Species,” opens with this question. The question is gentle and idle. It’s the kind of thing you ask yourself while half-asleep on a streambank on a hot day. But then there’s that word “unsettled.” The landscape may be “settled.” It may be cultivated into farm and town… but its dreams are unsettled, uneasy, perhaps even wild. As the poem winds through images of a flooded house, the reader becomes unsettled, too. And is reminded that landscapes––including the ones that humans shape––can shift in ways that we do not expect or control. Todd Davis excels at this kind of movement––the kind that starts in streambank idling but ends in a landslide. Or, just as often, the kind that begins in an abstract concept and distills into a single, sparkling image.
