Embodiments of the present invention provide a software upgrade method and apparatus, and a device. The method is applied to a software upgrade of a digital television terminal and includes: obtaining a DSI table in an upgrade data stream according to location information of the upgrade data stream that is carried in an upgrade notification message, where the DSI table carries upgrade software description information; displaying the upgrade software description information and upgrade prompt information to a user if it is determined, according to the upgrade software description information, to upgrade local software; and after the user determines to upgrade software, obtaining an upgrade software mirror in the upgrade data stream, and updating the local software according to the upgrade software mirror.

A computer-implemented method includes receiving a restore command to restore a vehicle computing system (VCS) system state. The method further includes restoring a base system state to a known, functional state and obtaining a list of applications previously installed on the VCS. The method also includes for each application previously installed on the VCS, finding a version of the application compatible with the restored base system state. Also, the method includes installing the version of each application compatible with the restored base system state.

A system facilitates modification or adaptation of a software object or platform, developed by a software developer, by a plurality of entities, each entity is assigned a hierarchical level, the lowest hierarchical level being assigned to a software developer and the highest hierarchical level being assigned to an end-user. At each level, when a modification or adaptation is implemented, a separate layer file or layer of a layer file is created and stored in a database. Subsequently, the changes of the respective layers are implemented in sequence according to the hierarchy, so that a higher hierarchical level's modifications that are in conflict with a setting of a lower hierarchical level replace the implementation of the lower hierarchical level's setting during runtime.

The present disclosure relates to a method for predicting estimations of project factors in software development environment. The method comprises receiving first input data including at least one type of first software development model and associated one or more first project data from a user. The method further comprises identifying one or more first software agents based on the at least one type of the first software development model. The method further comprises processing the one or more first project data using the identified one or more first software agents to identify one or more first intermediate data required for project factors estimation. The method further comprises calculating estimations of the project factors using the identified one or more first intermediate data.

An interconnect switch is provided including switching logic executable to facilitate a Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe)-based interconnect, and further including a control host embedded in the switch to provide one or more enhanced routing capabilities. The control host includes a processor device, memory, and software executable by the processor device to process traffic received at one or more ports of the switch to redirect at least a portion of the traffic to provide the one or more enhanced routing capabilities.

Method for creating a crystal/rhinestone template utilizing a sewing/embroidery machine to perforate a medium in a desired pattern. In the case of a multiple-needle sewing/embroidery machine, the machine's needle is replaced by a perforator blade and perforator blade holder which are attached to machine's needle bar. Machine's needle plate is replaced by perforator plate and waste holder. With a single-needle sewing/embroidery machine, machine's needle is replaced by a pressing tool attached to the machine's needle bar. A contact point, a spring, and an arm are attached to machine's presser foot. Machine's needle plate is replaced by perforator plate. A template medium is placed on a work surface of machine. Machine is operated by software that reads a user-specified pattern/motif outline for filling stones in vector form, using innate rules to move machine frame and control hole placement.

A system and method for inspection and quality control for goods determines whether the goods comply with desired configurations. In an embodiment, an inspection and quality control system for a good includes a template. The template includes a template body and a positive offset. The positive offset includes a maximum length of the good and a maximum width of the good. The positive offset is configured for the good to be disposed in the positive offset when the good is less than the maximum length and the maximum width. The system also includes a negative inset. The negative inset includes a minimum length for the good and a minimum width for the good. The negative inset is configured to be disposed in the positive offset over the good disposed in the positive offset.

The present invention provides a modified cellulosic fiber having reduced hydrogen bonding capabilities. The modified fiber formed in accordance with the present invention may be useful in the production of tissue products having improved bulk and softness. More importantly, the modified fiber is adaptable to current tissue making processes and may be incorporated into a tissue product to improve bulk and softness without an unsatisfactory reduction in tensile.

The present invention relates to a hair dye composition, and more particularly, to a foam-type hair dye composition comprising: a first agent including a dye and an alkaline agent and a second agent including an oxidant; and a nonionic viscosity increasing agent of a PEG-aliphatic acid ester or a PPG-aliphatic acid ester in one or both of the first agent and the second agent, thereby largely improving dyeing properties without dripping after the composition is coated on hair.

Techniques include receiving a first search result from a search system, the result specifying a first state of a software application (app) and the state associated with a function performed based on a first parameter. The techniques further include displaying a first user-selectable link associated with the first result, the link configured to, upon being selected, set the app into the first state. The techniques still further include receiving a first user input and displaying a second user-selectable link associated with a second (e.g., previously stored) search result, the result specifying a second parameter. The techniques also include receiving a second user input selecting the first and second links and displaying a third user-selectable link associated with the first and second results, the link configured to, upon being selected, set the app into a second state associated with the function performed based on the second parameter.

A plastic soft composition is formed of soft base material constantly provided with plasticity, porous fine particles for polishing contained in the base material, and the like, and a polishing process and a coating process are performed to a painted surface and the like using the plastic soft composition. The fine particles for polishing are impregnated with a coating agent (a surface protective agent) added with an activator which is emulsified by contact with water, and the coating agent is held in concave portions formed in the fine particles. Both polishing work and coating work are achieved by sliding the plastic soft composition on a painted surface by a palm pressure of a user.

Bradley and Karen have the last pre-talk installment of discussing the preparation for their joint keynote at FOSDEM 2019, entitled: Can Anyone Live in Full Software Freedom Today?: Confessions of Activists Who Try But Fail to Avoid Proprietary Software. This episode is the third of three episodes where Bradley and Karen record their preparation conversations for this keynote address. In this particular episode, they discuss the issue of letting others use proprietary software on your behalf, the problem of relying too much on that, and then finish up discussing with how they'll include this material into the final talk.
