Marcus du Sautoy's The Creativity Code: How AI is learning to write, paint and think

Simonyi professor and mathematician Marcus du Sautoy’s new book, The Creativity Code, explores the future of creativity and how machine learning will disrupt, enrich, and transform our understanding of what it means to be human. In this engaging video, Marcus talks about using a definition from cognitive scientist Margaret Boden, claiming that creative acts must be novel, surprising and with value. According to du Sautoy, all three of these traits were present when AlphaGo – an AI trained to play the ancient game of Go – made a particularly unique and important move against world champion Lee Sedol in the second game of their match. Learn to Fold the 'Phoenix' Paper Airplane

John Collins, also known as 'The Paper Airplane Guy,' teaches us how to fold and fly our very own "Phoenix" paper airplane. The Phoenix is a broader wing glider than the classic 'dart' and not too much more difficult to make. All you'll need for this design is a piece of paper and your hands.

5 Steps to Creating Learner-Centered Content on Social Media

Think about learning. We all experience learning differently. Most of us took part in one or other forms of formal education — took a course, went to university or even attended a workshop. More often than not, we associate learning experiences with these formal settings. However, that’s not always the case; learning occurs throughout one’s life and well beyond the classroom.

In a world where social media is becoming part of our lives, it’s more relevant than ever to explore its potential as a learning and teaching tool. Research shows that social media and mobile devices can support learning and create a positive impact on both educators and learners.
