How to install and run the New Outlook and Classic Outlook side by side

Now that the New Outlook is available in the various Office Channels and also is replacing Windows Mail and Calendar soon, I really want to try it out but don’t want to use it as my daily driver just yet.

Is there any way that I can install and run the New Outlook and the current Outlook at the same time?

outlook

Remove “External” tag from Outlook Message List

I see an “External” tag in front of the From field for pretty much all of my messages in the Message List.

How can I remove it?

Saving emails as eml or msg-file in the New Outlook or OWA

I regularly save individual emails as msg-file from Outlook into a folder on my computer to more conveniently group it with other related documents.

Now that I’ve switched to the New Outlook, I seem not be able to do that anymore. There is no File command anymore either. This is where the option used to be in Classic Outlook.

Can I no longer save individual emails as msg-files anymore in the New Outlook?

Emails to Microsoft 365 Groups in Outlook syncs only 1 year

We’re using Microsoft 365 Groups instead of Distribution Lists so that a history of these emails are kept in Groups in Outlook as well.

However, I noticed that Groups in Outlook only shows only up to 1 year of emails. When I look at the Microsoft 365 Group in Outlook on the Web, all the emails are shown.

I’ve set Outlook to sync all my emails but it still only shows up to 1 year for Groups. Performing a search doesn’t return any items which are available online either.

How can I make Outlook to sync all emails from the Microsoft 365 Groups?

Find and open the installation folder of New Outlook (olk.exe)

I just installed New Outlook on my computer and wondered where exactly it got installed.

I don’t see it in the Office installation folder (where outlook.exe is as well), nor anywhere else in Program Files. The shortcut doesn’t reveal anything either.

How can I determine where New Outlook is installed and open the installation folder?

Need Password but no login screen shown in Outlook

One of my accounts in Outlook went from “Trying to connect” to “Need Password” in the Status Bar.

However, pressing on the “Need Password” icon doesn’t bring up the dialog to enter my username and password. The dialog isn’t hidden behind Outlook either, although sometimes it looks like it opens and closes really fast again.

No dialog comes up either when clicking on the "Type Exchange Password & Connect" button nor when the Notification comes up that Outlook needs your password.

How do I get myself in a Connected state again?

outlook

View HTML source code of an email in New Outlook

In Classic Outlook, you were able to view the HTML source of an email. As a designer of templates and newsletters, this is particularly helpful to see how the HTML of an email got through when things don’t line up as expected.

Within New Outlook, I don’t see this feature anymore.

Is the “View Source” command coming to New Outlook as well or will it be removed?

Is there another way to see the HTML tags of an email in New Outlook?

Long Range Outlook

Hey Folks,

I thought I would make use of the Flip Camera again today to give you a taste of what's coming up over the next 7-10 days.

POINTS
-Weak system passing through today and tomorrow will drop some flurries in Labrador... and a solid shower/flurry mix in Newfoundland on Thursday.
-Things will clear a little bit on Friday... but I think the Cloud cover will likely dominate this weekend across most of Province.
-Early to mid next week a system will be moving in from the South.
-It appears Western Labrador could see some Snowfall from this with perhaps a mix through Eastern Labrador.
-Newfoundland looks destined to see Rain from this one.

ANOTHER AWESOME SHOT
I'll leave you with another snap from Nasa's Modis Satellite.

-This was taken yesterday. You can clearly see the Cold front moving Southeastward across the Labrador Sea and just licking Northern Newfoundland.
-A great shot of Coastal Labrador. You can clearly see the ice breaking up in Groswater Bay and the ice breaking away from the Southeast Coast.
-As I mentioned in the pictures on Monday, the Snow melt along the Humber River and even in through Stephenville can also be seen.
-SUPER HIGH RES. VERSION: If you want to see a really zoomed in shot... click here.

South Africa's Economic Outlook

South Africa's Economic Outlook 20 August 2020 — 12:00PM TO 1:00PM Anonymous (not verified) 11 August 2020 Online

South Africa’s long mooted economic reforms have been slow to materialize. The economy had fallen into recession even before the COVID-19 pandemic, and had been stripped of its international investment grade rating. The reserve bank is now forecasting a contraction in GDP of over seven percent for 2020.

There are significant questions around the role of the state in the economy, the level of intervention, and its affordability, with key government figures sceptical of rapid market reforms. The mandate and independence of the South African Reserve Bank has also been a subject of public debate. The IMF has approved a US$4.3 billion emergency financial assistance package to help mitigate the health and economic shock to the country. But it has also made clear that there is a pressing need to ensure debt sustainability and implement structural reforms to support recovery and achieve sustainable and inclusive growth.

At this event, Lesetja Kganyago, the governor of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), gives his assessment of the expected trajectory of the South African economy in the short and medium term. He discusses the IMF package and the implications for economic reform, and the role of the reserve bank in delivering sustainable and inclusive growth.

Webinar: Turkey’s Challenging Post-COVID 19 Outlook

Webinar: Turkey’s Challenging Post-COVID 19 Outlook 7 May 2020 — 1:00PM TO 2:00PM Anonymous (not verified) 17 April 2020

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has so far refused to impose a nation-wide lockdown to suppress the spread of coronavirus in the country. In late March, Turkish health officials announced that they expect the virus to peak in three weeks’ time and for Turkey to overcome it quickly. At the same time, Turkey has ruled out turning to the IMF for help in dealing with the crisis despite growing pressures on the Lira and the wider economy. The country’s relations with its traditional allies, the US and Europe, remain thorny.
This event will focus on the likely impact of the epidemic on Turkey’s economy and politics. What are the reasons behind Erdogan’s reluctance to implement a comprehensive lockdown to break the chain of virus transmission? Why is Turkey resolutely opposed to agreeing a funding package with the IMF? What is the macro outlook for 2020 and beyond for the country’s economy? And how may the government’s long-term popularity be affected?
