This study aims to identify and understand the perspectives of automotive aftersales stakeholders regarding current challenges posed by decarbonisation strategies. It examines potential responses that the automotive aftersales business could undertake to address these challenges. Semi-structured interviews were undertaken with automotive industry experts from Europe and Latin America. This paper focuses primarily on impacts of decarbonisation upon automotive aftersales and the potential role of data in that business. Results show that investment in technology will be a condition for businesses that want to remain active in the industry. Furthermore, experts agree that incumbent manufacturers are not filling the technology gap that the energy transition is creating in the automotive sector, a consequence of which will be the entrance of new players from other sectors. The current aftersales businesses will potentially lose bargaining control. Moreover, policy makers are seen as unreliable leaders of the transition agenda.

The impact of sample thickness and experimental noise on angular correlation analysis from scanning electron nanobeam diffraction patterns of disordered carbon are investigated and analyzed regarding the interpretability of the analysis results.
In the title compound, [Cu2(L)2]·2CH2Cl2, the CuII ions coordinate two (S,O)-chelating aroylthiourea moieties of doubly deprotonated furan-2,5-dicarbonylbis(N,N-diethylthiourea) (H2L) ligands. The coordination geometry of the metal centers is best described as a flat isosceles trapezoid with a cis arrangement of the donor atoms.
Crystallization of the title compound from CH2Cl2/n-pentane (1:5 v/v) at room temperature gave two polymorphs, which crystallize in monoclinic (P21/c; α form) and orthorhombic (Pna21; β form) space groups. The ReI complex molecules in either polymorph adopt a six-coordinate octahedral geometry with three facially-oriented carbonyl ligands, one bromido ligand, and two nitrogen atoms from one chelating ligand ppt-OMe. In the crystal, both polymorph α and β form di-periodic sheet-like architectures supported by multiple hydrogen bonds.

Reaction between equimolar amounts of 3,3,3',3'-tetraethyl-1,1'-(furan-2,5-dicarbonyl)bis(thiourea) (H2L) and CuCl2·2H2O in methanol in the presence of the supporting base Et3N gave rise to a neutral dinuclear complex bis[μ-3,3,3',3'-tetraethyl-1,1'-(furan-2,5-dicarbonyl)bis(thioureato)]dicopper(II) dichloromethane disolvate, [Cu2(C16H22N4O3S2)2]·2CH2Cl2 or [Cu2(L)2]·2CH2Cl2. The aroylbis(thioureas) are doubly deprotonated and the resulting anions {L2–} bond to metal ions through (S,O)-chelating moieties. The copper atoms adopt a virtually cis-square-planar environment. In the crystal, adjacent [Cu2(L)2]·2CH2Cl2 units are linked into polymeric chains along the a-axis direction by intermolecular coordinative Cu...S interactions. The co-crystallized solvent molecules play a vital role in the crystal packing. In particular, weak C—Hfuran...Cl and C—Hethyl...Cl contacts consolidate the three-dimensional supramolecular architecture.
The title molecule, C12H15NO5, is a methyl carbamate derivative obtained by reacting (R)-2-phenylglycinol and methyl chloroformate, with calcium hydroxide as heterogeneous catalyst. Supramolecular chains are formed in the [100] direction, based on N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the amide and carboxylate groups. These chains weakly interact in the crystal, and the phenyl rings do not display significant π–π interactions.
The title compound, [Fe(C4H8O)4(H2O)2][Fe4Ga4(C2H6O2Si)Cl4(CO)15]·4C4H8O, consists of an iron(II) cation octahedrally coordinated by two water molecules (trans) with four tetrahydrofurans (THF) at equatorial sites. The title compound, [RuGa2Cl6(C7H8)(CO)2] or [(CO)2(GaCl2)(η6-toluene)Ru]+[GaCl4]−, was isolated from the reaction of Ga2Cl4 with diphenylsilanediol in toluene, followed by the addition of Ru3(CO)12. The compound contains a ruthenium–gallium metal–metal bond with a length of 2.4575 (2) Å.
The title compound, C14H20NO5+·Cl−, was prepared as a racemate of R,R- and S,S-enantiomers by reduction of the corresponding hydroxyiminoketone. In the crystal, layers are formed via hydrogen bridges of four ammonium groups to chloride ions; these lamellae are connected via interdigitated benzoic ester groups.
Carbonic anhydrase (CA) was among the first proteins whose X-ray crystal structure was solved to atomic resolution. CA proteins have essentially the same fold and similar active centers that differ in only several amino acids. Primary sulfonamides are well defined, strong and specific binders of CA. However, minor variations in chemical structure can significantly alter their binding properties. Over 1000 sulfonamides have been designed, synthesized and evaluated to understand the correlations between the structure and thermodynamics of their binding to the human CA isozyme family. Compound binding was determined by several binding assays: fluorescence-based thermal shift assay, stopped-flow enzyme activity inhibition assay, isothermal titration calorimetry and competition assay for enzyme expressed on cancer cell surfaces. All assays have advantages and limitations but are necessary for deeper characterization of these protein–ligand interactions. Here, the concept and importance of intrinsic binding thermodynamics is emphasized and the role of structure–thermodynamics correlations for the novel inhibitors of CA IX is discussed – an isozyme that is overexpressed in solid hypoxic tumors, and thus these inhibitors may serve as anticancer drugs. The abundant structural and thermodynamic data are assembled into the Protein–Ligand Binding Database to understand general protein–ligand recognition principles that could be used in drug discovery.
The molecular structure of tricarbonyl[η4-6-exo-(triphenylphosphino)cyclohepta-2,4-dien-1-one]iron(0) tetrafluoroborate dichloromethane hemisolvate, [Fe(C28H22O4)(CO)3]BF4·0.5CH2Cl2, as determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction is reported. The two independent tricarbonyl[η4-6-exo-(triphenylphosphino)cyclohepta-2,4-dien-1-one] iron(0) cations and their corresponding anions form dimers, which constitute the asymmetric unit of the structure parallel to the (100) plane. Solid-state stability within that asymmetric unit as well as between neighboring dimeric units is afforded by C—H⋯O and C—H⋯F hydrogen bonds and C—H⋯π and Y—X⋯π (Y = B, C; X = F, O) interactions, which yield diperiodic sheets and a three-dimensional extended network.
