The Delaware Department of Transportation's (DelDOT) contractor, Diamond Materials will begin preliminary work prior to the paving of I-95 northbound/southbound from Churchmans Road to Christiana River Bridge.

On Monday, May 4, 2020, the right lane will be closed to motorists for approximately two weeks on I-95 northbound between Exit 5A/Route 141 southbound and Exit 5B/Route 141 northbound. The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces the first project related to the I-95 corridor rehabilitation project began on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.

This project will remove the existing I-95 southbound on-ramps and existing bridge structures for the 2^nd Street and Jackson Street ramps and build a new ramp configuration for access to I-95 southbound.

Additional left turn lanes will also be added on Lancaster Avenue to Adams Street and 2^nd Street to the new reconfigured on-ramp. [More]

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) and the City of Wilmington are collaborating on a water line relocation project beginning Friday, May 8, 2020 and will require travel lane changes on I-95 for the next several weeks. Three drinking water transmission mains servicing City residents and businesses will be relocated from underneath the 10^th Street Bridge which spans the interstate to an underground trench that will be dug under I-95.
