Opening An Automatic Car Wash? Components That Are Used

If you are opening an automatic car wash, it can be helpful to know the components that are used. Below is information about this, so you can have a better understanding of how your automatic car wash works.

Conveyor

The first component you see with an automatic car wash is the conveyor. When a car pulls up this is what they drive up onto. It then pulls the car into the car wash. A correlator is used to align the vehicle's wheels with the conveyor track. An infrared sensor then measures the vehicle, and the rollers and sprayers automatically adjust to fit with the vehicle. This ensures the entire vehicle is washed as it is going through the car wash.

If the vehicle has an automatic transmission, it should be put in park when placed in the automatic car wash. If the vehicle has a manual transmission, it should be placed in neutral.

Nozzles

Once the car rolls through the automatic car wash, a series of nozzles pop out to spray the entire car. Plain water is not used to do this. Instead, a pre-soaking solution that loosens dirt and grime on the vehicle is used. This makes it much easier to clean as the vehicle goes through the car wash.

There are also nozzles that pop out on the side of the automatic car wash to spray down the tires and rims. This removes brake dust and dirt that may be on the tires and rims, as well as makes the tires shiny and clean. Once the entire vehicle has been sprayed down it goes through a mitter curtain to remove excess moisture on the vehicle.

Foam and Scrub Equipment

The cleaning foam is sprayed on the vehicle. A scrubber is then used to clean the car. What is used for the foam depends on the car wash as this is your choice. The scrubber spins fast as the car passes through.

The scrubbers will become very dirty over time, so it is important that you clean them regularly. If too much dirt and debris stick on the scrubbers, they will not clean as well and can even scratch the paint on the vehicles.

Rinse, Wax, and Dry

Once the car is cleaned it goes through a rinse which sprays water onto the car to completely remove the foaming solution. The sprayer uses high-pressure water to ensure it gets to all areas of the car. This includes the exterior of the car, under the car, and the tires and rims. Once the foam is rinsed, wax is automatically sprayed onto the car. This not only makes the car very shiny but can also fill in small scratches to hide them. The last component used is the dryer which blows warm air onto the car to remove any leftover moisture. You may also have employees that help dry the vehicle as it leaves the automatic car wash.

You need to learn how to maintain these components, so they last a long time for you.

The ABC toxin complex from Yersinia entomophaga can package three different cytotoxic components expressed from distinct genetic loci in an unfolded state: the structures of both shell and cargo

Bacterial ABC toxin complexes (Tcs) comprise three core proteins: TcA, TcB and TcC. The TcA protein forms a pentameric assembly that attaches to the surface of target cells and penetrates the cell membrane. The TcB and TcC proteins assemble as a heterodimeric TcB–TcC subcomplex that makes a hollow shell. This TcB–TcC subcomplex self-cleaves and encapsulates within the shell a cytotoxic `cargo' encoded by the C-terminal region of the TcC protein. Here, we describe the structure of a previously uncharacterized TcC protein from Yersinia entomophaga, encoded by a gene at a distant genomic location from the genes encoding the rest of the toxin complex, in complex with the TcB protein. When encapsulated within the TcB–TcC shell, the C-terminal toxin adopts an unfolded and disordered state, with limited areas of local order stabilized by the chaperone-like inner surface of the shell. We also determined the structure of the toxin cargo alone and show that when not encapsulated within the shell, it adopts an ADP-ribosyltransferase fold most similar to the catalytic domain of the SpvB toxin from Salmonella typhimurium. Our structural analysis points to a likely mechanism whereby the toxin acts directly on actin, modifying it in a way that prevents normal polymerization.

Episode 87: Software Components

In this episode, Michael and Markus talk about software components. We first looked at a couple of attempts at defining what a component is. We then provided our own definition that will be used in the rest of the episode. We then looked at the promises of component-based development: why are components useful? We then discussed some of the typical metadata components should specify to make them useful. We discussed to some extent typical variations in component models. The next topic was the separation of concerns between the component functionality and functionality provided by the component's execution environment (aka. container). We then compared components with other (more or less) related technologies such as OO and SOA. We concluded the episode with the notion of architecture as language, where you use a formal DSL to describe a system's architecture. Components are the basic building block for this approach.

Constrictions in Components Supply Support Higher Prices

Years ago we were doing some work in the roofing business. In one study, we were working on the asphalt shingle roofing manufacturing business. At the time, this was a terrible business. Returns were low, growth rates were modest, at best, and there was a good deal of overcapacity in the industry. Then the industry caught a break. A shortage in asphalt developed. This shortage of asphalt rolled through the asphalt shingle plants and restricted their output. Immediately, prices jumped, returns became attractive and industry participants breathed a sigh of relief. Unfortunately, this asphalt shortage did not last very long. The industry shortly returned to its previous hostile condition. (See the Perspective, “What Ends Hostility?” on StrategyStreet.com.)

A shortage in any component, or labor, will restrict industry capacity and tend to raise prices. A labor shortage is, in part, responsible for some of the high prices in mining today. Miners work in areas that are often hard to reach. They also are skilled employees. The run-up in commodity prices, especially those related to ores such as silver, gold and copper, has increased the demand for these skilled miners. In addition, the mining industry faces competition for skilled workers from the oil and natural gas industries, which are also growing.

Mining companies are now going to great lengths to attract and retain these skilled workers. Some of these miners are now earning 25% more in compensation than they were a year ago. Some companies are flying workers to and from remote mines. For example, BHP Billiton plans to fly 500 workers from Brisbane, about 500 miles away, to a coal mine site that they are opening and then fly them back home after a couple of weeks.

If this commodity boom continues, the industry’s total capacity will be determined more by labor availability than by its more traditional measures of capacity. (See “Audio Tip #117: Capacity Constraints and Pricing” on StrategyStreet.com.)

How to reuse device files for existing components

Have you ever encountered ERROR(SPMHNI-67) while importing logic? If yes, you might already know that you had to export libraries of the design and make sure that paths (devpath, padpath, and psmpath) include the location of exported files.

Starting in SPB23.1, if you go to File > Import > Logic/Netlist and click on the Other tab, you will see an option, Reuse device files for existing components.

After selecting this option, ERROR(SPMHNI-67) will no longer be there in the log file, because the tool will automatically extract device files and seamlessly use them for newly imported data. In other words, SPB_23.1 lets you reuse the device / component definitions already in the design without first having to dump libraries manually. An excellent improvement, don’t you think?

FP2020 and FP2030 Country Commitments: A Mixed Method Study of Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health Components

ABSTRACTIntroduction:Family Planning 2020 (FP2020) was established in 2012 with the goal of expanding contraceptive access. By 2020, 46 countries had made commitments to FP2020. A sustained focus on adolescents and youth (AY) began in 2016. During the commitment formulation process, substantial support was offered to countries to develop AY commitments based on sound data, research evidence, and programmatic experience. This study assesses how country commitments under FP2020 and FP2030 have evolved over time with respect to improving attention to and focus on the needs of adolescents and youth sexual and reproductive health (AYSRH).Methods:We analyzed the content of FP2020 and FP2030 country commitments focusing on AY (aged 10–24 years) using a scoring guideline we developed to measure the AY commitments in terms of completeness, clarity, and quality. Results:This analysis shows that FP2030 commitments better articulate strategies and activities to reach AY with contraceptive information and services when compared to FP2020 commitments.Conclusion:FP2030 commitments are stronger in some areas on AYSRH, such as commitment to establish national or local policies, strategies, and guidance for AY programming, specifying the target audience of the AY commitment, and partnering with AY or youth-led organizations in commitments. However, more work remains to be done by countries to dedicate a budget for achieving AY objectives, including measurable targets for monitoring progress, identifying and addressing the root causes that impact AY access to and use of contraception, including child marriage and gender-based violence, and reducing financial barriers to access contraception.
