The Penn State Mont Alto physical therapist assistant program takes a proactive approach to athlete health with the new Functional Movement Screening initiative.

Penn State Mont Alto recently hosted its 19th annual MedCamp, a weeklong day camp providing rising ninth and 10th graders with opportunities to learn about careers in health care and medical fields. Twenty area highschoolers from across Franklin, Adams, Cumberland and York counties were accepted into MedCamp 2024.

Lisa Davis, director of the Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health and outreach associate professor of health policy and administration at Penn State, was presented with the 2024 Calico Leadership Award and the Rural Sociological Society Distinguished Service to Rural Life Award.

Researchers from the Departments of Nutritional Sciences and Food Science at Penn State have recently received $420,000 in funding from the McCormick Science Institute to study the use of herbs and spices in school lunch recipes over the next two years.

Lisa Gatzke-Kopp, professor of human development and family studies, recently was named president-elect of the Society for Psychophysiological Research. The presidential role spans three years, over which she will serve as president-elect, president and past-president, each for a one-year period.

Apple's new M4 24-inch iMac shows that the all-in-one desktop computer still has a loyal fanbase, with every reviewer also relishing the more vibrant colors of the new model.

Apple hosted a "week of exciting announcements" in late October, debuting three upgraded Mac models. Among them was a refresh of its much-loved iMac.

While the iMac mostly got a spec bump, it's nice to see that Apple views the all-in-one as a worthwhile addition to the Mac lineup.

It's been more than a year since Apple Watch Ultra 2 launched, and we've had the wearable that's only gotten better on our wrist the whole time.

I do these extended long-term reviews often on Apple products, often by the time a new model has launched. I see how my opinions have changed with extended use and whether or not it was and is worth buying now.

A new rumor claims that both Apple and Samsung are having difficulty making thinner batteries, thereby limiting just how thin phones like the expected iPhone 17 Slim can be.

What's currently rumored to be called the iPhone 17 Slim is believed to be an iPhone with a 6.6-inch screen, and to be significantly thinner than regular iPhones. Just how thin has not been known, but a new rumor says battery problems may mean it can be no less than 6mm.

A US order to TSMC to cut AI chip supplies to China over Huawei sanctions won't cause problems for Apple. However, Taiwan's prohibition of TSMC producing 2-nanometer chips elsewhere could make an impact.

U.S. sanctions against Huawei has caused problems for TSMC over attempts by intermediaries to order certain AI-based chip designs on Huawei's behalf. From Monday, TSMC is suspending shipments of the AI-focused chips to China, on the orders of the United States.

The Department of Commerce imposed export restrictions of select chip designs that were intended to be shipped to China, an unnamed source of Reuters claims. The shipment ban, which kicks in from Monday, affects certain types of chips made with 7-nanometer processes or advanced designs, intended for AI or graphics processing.

The third round of developer betas follows after the second, which for iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2, arrived on November 4, while the first was on October 23. For tvOS 18.2 and watchOS 11.2, this is the second beta round.

The third builds of iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 are build number 22C5131e, replacing 22C5125e. The third macOS Sequoia 15.2 build is 24C5079e, up from 24C5073e.

After Apple abandoned the decade-long Apple Car project, rumors suggested Apple would increase investments in the smart home and AI. While Apple Intelligence has been released to the public, there has been little evidence of Apple's new commitment to the smart home beyond rumors of a smart monitor.

A new supply chain-based rumor from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests an Apple supplier named Goertek has been tapped with orders for two products due in 2026. The first is a smart home camera, and the second is a set of AirPods with more health-focused features.

On Monday, Apple released the third developer beta of iOS 18.2. Along with the various changes and quality-of-life improvements, the software also contains an update for carrier-specific settings.

The third developer beta contains an update for devices using the British carrier EE. The carrier settings shipped with iOS 18.1 and the second developer beta of iOS 18.2 had the version number 59.5.1, while iOS 18.2 developer beta 3 increased the EE carrier settings version to 60.5.2.
