How to cultivate love and root out weeds in your marriage.
Marriage is like a garden. It needs intentional care and cultivation. When weeds grow, they must be pulled up from the root immediately. If we don’t pull up weeds by the root they will continue to grow back, eventually overtaking and killing the garden.
So how do we care for and cultivate our marriages?
1. Let the Gardener (God) care for and cultivate your garden by letting him plant it. (See Eph. 5:25–33).
It is important for husbands and wives to realize that their marriages are a picture of Jesus and his church. The husband represents Jesus and the wife represents the church. The husband loves and sacrifices for his wife, and in response to his love, the wife respects and follow her husband’s leadership.
2. Let the Gardener care for and cultivate your garden through the work of Jesus.
God cares for our garden by applying his grace to our lives through Jesus. In Christ,
The nutrients of grace, when received and acted upon by faith, keep our gardens green and healthy.
3. Grow your garden by working on it.
A great marriage takes great work.
4. Pull up weeds immediately!

When two people meet and decide to pursue a romantic relationship with each other, they always start with high hopes. They are very happy and look at the other person through rose-colored glasses. But as most of us know, that loving feeling doesn’t always last forever. It does for some couples, but for many, they [...]Read More...

Screen Shot 2015-11-06 at 6.34.24 AM It has been over a month since Haiti’s Conseil Electoral Provisoire (Electoral Provisory Counsel), known as CEP, published its foreknown controversial fraudulent results for the first round presidential and second round legislative elections. The CEP’s preliminary results for the presidential elections placed President Michel Martelly’s hand-picked candidate Jovenel Moise of Parti Haïtien Tèt Kale, or P.H.T.K in the first place with 32.8 percent of the popular votes. Jaccéus Joseph, a member of the electoral council, qualified the results as unacceptable.
Miami Herald’s Jacqueline Charles reported, Joseph refused to sign “the presidential and legislative preliminary results” because of irregularities and frauds that plagued them. Joseph thought his refusal to endorse the results would prompt the Tabulation Center to verify “the allegations of electoral fraud, including checking the voter registration lists against the ballots cast in the Oct. 25” elections to avert an unnecessary electoral crisis.
Joseph said, “We asked the director of the Tabulation Center did he have enough time to thoroughly verify if there was fraud.” According to Joseph, the director told them, “[H]e didn’t have enough time for that.”
Despite Joseph’s insistence on verifying and correcting the irregularities and frauds threatening the credibility of the results, CEP’s President Pierre-Louis Opont decided to publish the tainted results. The electoral crisis that was avoidable is now becoming an inevitable crisis. This man-made electoral dispute could further derail the political and social stability of the country.

Background: 68Ga PSMA PET CT (PSMA) is increasingly used in men with biochemical recurrence (BCR) post radical prostatectomy (RP), but its longer term prognostic / predictive potential in these men is unknown. The aim of this study was to evaluate the predictive value of PSMA PET for 3 year freedom from progression (FFP) in men with BCR post RP undergoing salvage radiotherapy (sRT). Methods: This prospective multi-center study enrolled 260 men between 2015 and 2017. Eligible patients were referred for PSMA with rising PSA following RP. Management following PSMA was recorded but not mandated. PSMA protocols were standardised across sites and reported prospectively. Clinical, pathological and surgical information, sRT, timing and duration of androgen deprivation (ADT), 3 year PSA results and clinical events were documented. FFP was defined as a PSA rise ≤ 0.2ng/mL above nadir post sRT, with no additional treatment. Results: The median PSA was 0.26ng/mL (IQR 0.15 - 0.59) and follow-up 38 months (IQR 31-43). PSMA was negative in 34.6% (90/260), confined to prostate fossa 21.5% (56/260), pelvic nodes 26.2% (68/260), and distant disease 17.7% (46/260). 71.5% (186/260) received sRT, 38.2% (71/186) to the fossa only, 49.4% (92/186) fossa + pelvic nodes and 12.4% (23/186) nodes alone/SBRT. PSMA was highly predictive of FFP at 3 years following sRT. Overall, FFP was achieved in 64.5% (120/186) of those who received sRT, 81% (81/100) with negative/fossa confined vs. 45% (39/86) for extra fossa disease (p<0.0001). On logistic regression PSMA was more independently predictive of FFP than established clinical predictors, including PSA, T-stage, surgical margin status or Gleason score (P < 0.002). 32% of men with a negative PSMA PET did not receive treatment. Of these, 66% (19/29) progressed, with a mean rise in PSA of 1.59ng/mL over the 3 years. Conclusion: PSMA PET result is highly predictive of FFP at 3 years in men undergoing sRT for BCR following RP. In particular, men with negative PSMA PET or disease identified as still confined to the prostate fossa demonstrate high FFP, despite receiving less extensive radiotherapy and lower rates of additional ADT than those with extra fossa disease.
My step daughter is 5 and her dad lives states away. He calls her maybe once a month (not even on holidays) he hasn’t had her since she was one (when they lived in the same state) he had told my wife if our daughter wanted to see him we could bring her to him but he wasn’t coming to our state. My wife asked him beginning of this year if he’d sign his rights over. He doesn’t talk to her and he was behind on child support. He said no and that we was going to finally pick her up. He is getting married and didn’t include the little one we told him if he is going to get her he needs to tell her that it’s not just him living there and he is getting married. Our daughter was hurt by it that he hid this from her (they’ve been engaged for 4 years). She’s been crying she doesn’t want to go and he isn’t willing to come stay the week here to visit. He said he is taking her back to his state for a month. Yes it’s in their agreement but is there anything we can do? She really doesn’t want to go to a “strangers” house is what my daughter says.
To understand what makes marriages work, we need to talk about why they sometimes end, says family law professor Jeannie Suk Gersen. Early administration of oral corticosteroids is essential for children presenting to emergency departments with moderate to severe acute asthma exacerbations, because subsequent admission need is directly related to time to receipt of systemic steroids, yet delays to administration remain long.
A medical directive allowing nurse initiation of oral corticosteroids before physician assessment was associated with improved quality and efficiency of care provided in the pediatric emergency department by ensuring implementation of evidence-based practice. (Read the full article)
Rotavirus is a major cause of acute gastroenteritis among children worldwide. Vaccines targeting rotavirus have been demonstrated to be highly efficacious against severe disease in clinical trials and postlicensure studies. Vaccine impact on mild gastroenteritis has not been well studied.
We used a novel surveillance platform consisting of telephone triage data to capture mild gastroenteritis not detected in other surveillance systems. Since rotavirus vaccine licensure, gastroenteritis-related call proportions have declined, and peak gastroenteritis-related calls are correlated with community norovirus circulation. Children with chronic illnesses tend to be sicker during infections than previously healthy children but are triaged in the same way, even though the validity of triage systems has not yet been evaluated in these chronically sick children.
The performance of the Manchester Triage System was lower for children with a chronic illness than for previously healthy children. Children with cardiovascular illnesses, respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal illnesses, or other congenital or genetic defects were especially at risk of being undertriaged. Since 2012, single low dose of primaquine (SLDPQ, 0.25mg/kg) has been recommended with artemisinin-based combination therapies, as first-line treatment of acute uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria, to interrupt its transmission, especially in low transmission settings of multidrug, including artemisinin, resistance. Policy makers in Cambodia have been reluctant to implement this recommendation due to primaquine safety concerns and lack of data on its efficacy.
In this randomized controlled trial, 109 Cambodians with acute uncomplicated P. falciparum malaria received dihydroartemisinin-piperaquine (DP) alone or combined with SLDPQ on the first treatment day. Transmission-blocking efficacy of SLDPQ was evaluated on Days 0, 1, 2, 3, 7, 14, 21, 28 and recrudescence by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) (gametocyte prevalence) and membrane-feeding assays with Anopheles minimus mosquitoes (gametocyte infectivity). Without the influence of recrudescent infections, DP+SLDPQ reduced gametocyte carriage 3 fold compared to DP. Of 48 patients tested on Day 0, only three patients were infectious to mosquitoes (~6%). Post-treatment, three patients were infectious: on D14 (3.5%, 1/29), and on the first and seventh day of recrudescence (8.3%, 1/12 for each); this overall low infectivity precluded our ability to assess its transmission blocking efficacy.
Our study confirms effective gametocyte clearance of SLDPQ when combined with DP in multidrug resistant P. falciparum and the negative impact of recrudescent infections due to poor DP efficacy. Artesunate-mefloquine (ASMQ) has replaced DP and ASMQ-SLDPQ has been deployed to treat all P. falciparum symptomatic patients to further support the elimination of multidrug resistant P. falciparum in Cambodia.

An analysis of SC judgments in Veluswamy case [AIR 2011 SC 479] and IndraSarma case [AIR 2014 SC 309] reveals that not all live-in relationships are to be deemed as a ârelationship in the nature of marriageâ u/s 2(f) of the DV Act. The wider interpretation of the term is aimed at welfare of unmarried women in live-in relationships who are left estranged or abused; but not at promoting adulterous relationships. The benefits provided under the Act are to be interpreted harmoniously, not violating penal provisions of adultery. Since, the applicant admitted the existence of her first marriage, negating the possibility of a legal marriage between the two contesting parties, revision was dismissed stating no âdomestic relationshipâ subsists between them.
