This method is moist and magic! Throw out every notion you might have had about leatherjackets being anything other than juicy and flavoursome. This little trick cooks the fish from within. Usually salt draws but in this case its responsible for keeping every bit of moisture in the fish. Leatherjacket is an inexpensive fish, the presentation is great, and you'll bowl over your dinner guests every time. What's not to love?

Dual first-order methods are essential techniques for large-scale constrained convex optimization. However, when recovering the primal solutions, we need $T(epsilon^{-2})$ iterations to achieve an $epsilon$-optimal primal solution when we apply an algorithm to the non-strongly convex dual problem with $T(epsilon^{-1})$ iterations to achieve an $epsilon$-optimal dual solution, where $T(x)$ can be $x$ or $sqrt{x}$. In this paper, we prove that the iteration complexity of the primal solutions and dual solutions have the same $Oleft(frac{1}{sqrt{epsilon}} ight)$ order of magnitude for the accelerated randomized dual coordinate ascent. When the dual function further satisfies the quadratic functional growth condition, by restarting the algorithm at any period, we establish the linear iteration complexity for both the primal solutions and dual solutions even if the condition number is unknown. When applied to the regularized empirical risk minimization problem, we prove the iteration complexity of $Oleft(nlog n+sqrt{frac{n}{epsilon}} ight)$ in both primal space and dual space, where $n$ is the number of samples. Our result takes out the $left(log frac{1}{epsilon} ight)$ factor compared with the methods based on smoothing/regularization or Catalyst reduction. As far as we know, this is the first time that the optimal $Oleft(sqrt{frac{n}{epsilon}} ight)$ iteration complexity in the primal space is established for the dual coordinate ascent based stochastic algorithms. We also establish the accelerated linear complexity for some problems with nonsmooth loss, e.g., the least absolute deviation and SVM.

Research has highlighted an important relationship between motor coordination and emotional functioning in children and adolescents. Few studies have provided support for this idea; research is therefore needed to further understand the relationship between the motor and emotional domains.

The results suggest that the relationship between motor coordination and emotional functioning (anxious and depressive symptoms) in an adolescent sample may be understood in terms of a mechanism whereby motor coordination has an indirect impact on emotional functioning via self-perceptions. Cross-sectional studies have shown an increased risk of mental health difficulties in children with developmental coordination disorder. However, there has been limited longitudinal research in this area controlling for confounding factors and assessing the role of potential mediators.

Children with "probable" developmental coordination disorder at 7 years had a significantly increased risk mental health difficulties at 10 years. Protective factors for self-reported depression included high IQ, high self-esteem, good social communication skills, and the absence of bullying. (Read the full article)

Care coordination has been proposed as a key mechanism for increasing quality and reducing costs of care. Little is known about the degree to which disparities exist in care coordination or whether having high-quality primary care attenuates disparities.

A considerable proportion of parents reported unmet care coordination needs for their children, especially parents of children with special health care needs. Black and Latino children also may have more unmet needs because they received family-centered care less often. (Read the full article)

Infants aged <2 months are at highest risk for pertussis morbidity and mortality but are too young to receive pertussis vaccines. To protect young infants, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends mothers receive 1 dose of Tdap during pregnancy.

Cooling infants with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy shortly after birth improves survival and neurodevelopmental outcome. The optimal way to cool infants during transfer to regional NICUs is unclear.

Data from a regional neonatal transfer team, using first passive and subsequently active cooling for these infants, suggest that active cooling results in improved thermal control and a reduction in stabilization time. (Read the full article)
