You're listening to an AppleViz Podcast.

Hello and welcome.

My name is Thomas Domville, also known as AnonyMouse.

Now, I've done a podcast before on Apple Watch and being able to identify and find your iPhone with the ping my iPhone from your Apple Watch.

So like myself, I tend to put my phone in places I don't remember where I left it.

Are you one of those people?

Raise your hand.

Yep.

There's a few out there.

And what that feature does is that it takes, I can go to my Apple Watch, go to the control center and use the ping my iPhone, double tap that, and then it'll start chiming and you can find your phone in no time by following the chime within the house or place that you left your iPhone.

What if I told you, you can do the other way around?

Yes.

So this was very useful for me as I was on vacation shortly ago.

And one of the things I came in, I was just hot.

I was just hot and the Apple Watch was just making me hotter, right?

You got to get that watch off.

And so I put it down and Lord, behold, I forget where I left the Apple Watch.

Then I remembered, Hey, there's a feature that I can do the other way around.

And that's using my iPhone to ping my watch.

So I'm going to show you how to set that up and how this works.

And so you can find your Apple Watch as you could with your iPhone, with your Apple Watch.

So it's great both ways.

So we are going to go to your iPhone and we are going to go to the settings, because that is where we are going to have to turn this feature on.

And that lives in the control center of settings.

So let's go double tap settings, settings.

Now swipe to the right until you get to control center button, control center button.

Once you find that one finger, double tap, swipe down from the top right edge to open control center.

Now the easiest way to get to where we need to go is to set your order to headings.

And let's go to the first headings here, included controls heading.

These are the included controls.

So these are controls that shows up on your control center as of right now.

So here's a few of the controls I have set.

Remove timer, reorder timer button, direct remove code scanner, reorder code scanner, remove voice…

Los Angeles And San Diego Schools Announce Online-Only Fall

On Monday, Los Angeles and San Diego public schools announced they will be starting the school year remote-only in August as coronavirus cases rise in Southern California. "The skyrocketing infection rates of the past few weeks make it clear the pandemic is not under control," a joint statement said. On Sunday, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health reported 3,322 new cases of COVID-19 and 18 deaths. Local health department data show a rebound in hospitalizations compared with May. Los Angeles Unified School District did not detail when, or under what conditions, schools might be able to open for in-person learning, even on a part-time or staggered schedule. San Diego Unified School District promised a " public assessment " by Aug. 10 of how soon they might return to physical classes. MCNULTY: This is a restaurant that, in a city famous for restaurants, really stood out as one that sort of vaulted ahead of the ideas that people had for local cuisine in its time and made an impact on, really, the global restaurant scene, the global food world, the ripples of which still end up on your dinner plate today when you dine out in cities across America, not just in New Orleans or Louisiana. New Unemployment Claims Dip Below 2 Million In Sign Pace Of Job Losses May Be Easing

Updated at 8:47 a.m. ET The coronavirus pandemic has pushed unemployment to its highest level since the Great Depression, but the pace of layoffs has been easing. And there are now some signs that the job market could slowly start to recover. The Labor Department says another 1.87 million people filed claims for unemployment insurance last week. That's down 249,000 from the previous week. While still very high by historical standards, the number has been declining steadily from a peak of 6.8 million the week ending March 28. In the past 11 weeks, 42.6 million new claims have been filed. Continued claims for unemployment went up 649,000, to 21.5 million, in the week ending May 23, the latest week for which data was available, after dropping the prior week. While some workers continue to get pink slips, others have started going back to work. The payroll processor ADP reported Wednesday that private-sector employers cut just under 2.8 million jobs between April and May. That's a much

'We Need Help': People At Higher Coronavirus Risk Fear Losing Federal Unemployment

Many people with underlying medical conditions are worried about what's going to happen at the end of the month. It's not currently safe for many of them to go back to work. The COVID-19 death rate is 12 times higher for people with underlying conditions. But an extra $600 a week in federal unemployment benefits, which has been enabling them to pay their rent and other bills, will stop coming at the end of July. "We don't have a whole lot of options that don't involve risking our lives," Lauren Van Netta says. "We need help. We really do." Van Netta lost her job at a perfume store in New Orleans during the outbreak. She says she's had serious bacterial infections that have damaged her lungs and compromised her immune system. And she has asthma. So even if she could find another job in retail, she says her doctors have told her it would be risky. She says even wearing a mask and trying to keep social distancing in a workplace, "it's like the fear of, you know, I could make a mistake.
