tol Set-Theoretical Problems in Asymptology. (arXiv:2004.01979v3 [math.GN] UPDATED) By arxiv.org Published On :: In this paper we collect some open set-theoretic problems that appear in the large-scale topology (called also Asymptology). In particular we ask problems about critical cardinalities of some special (large, indiscrete, inseparated) coarse structures on $omega$, about the interplay between properties of a coarse space and its Higson corona, about some special ultrafilters ($T$-points and cellular $T$-points) related to finitary coarse structures on $omega$, about partitions of coarse spaces into thin pieces, and also about coarse groups having some extremal properties. tol Biologic and Prognostic Feature Scores from Whole-Slide Histology Images Using Deep Learning. (arXiv:1910.09100v4 [q-bio.QM] UPDATED) By arxiv.org Published On :: Histopathology is a reflection of the molecular changes and provides prognostic phenotypes representing the disease progression. In this study, we introduced feature scores generated from hematoxylin and eosin histology images based on deep learning (DL) models developed for prostate pathology. We demonstrated that these feature scores were significantly prognostic for time to event endpoints (biochemical recurrence and cancer-specific survival) and had simultaneously molecular biologic associations to relevant genomic alterations and molecular subtypes using already trained DL models that were not previously exposed to the datasets of the current study. Further, we discussed the potential of such feature scores to improve the current tumor grading system and the challenges that are associated with tumor heterogeneity and the development of prognostic models from histology images. Our findings uncover the potential of feature scores from histology images as digital biomarkers in precision medicine and as an expanding utility for digital pathology. Full Article

tol Recovering from an error in a fault tolerant computer system By www.freepatentsonline.com Published On :: Tue, 12 May 2015 08:00:00 EDT A leading thread and a trailing thread are executed in parallel. Assuming that no transient fault occurs in each section, a system is speculatively executed in the section, with the leading thread and the trailing thread preferably being assigned to two different cores. At this time, the leading thread and the trailing thread are simultaneously executed, performing a buffering operation on a thread local area without performing a write operation on a shared memory. When the respective execution results of the two threads match each other, the content buffered to the thread local area is committed and written to the shared memory. When the respective execution results of the two threads do not match each other, the leading thread and the trailing thread are rolled back to a preceding commit point and re-executed. Full Article

tol Method and system for preparing soft tissue for grafting, enhancing grafting results, and grafting autologous fat and adipocyte derived stem cells to soft tissue such as the breast and other tissue defects By www.freepatentsonline.com Published On :: Tue, 12 May 2015 08:00:00 EDT A method is disclosed for preparing a soft tissue site, and augmenting the soft tissue site, such as the breast(s), scar, depression, or other defect, of a subject through use of devices that exert a distractive force on the breast(s) and grafting of autologous fat tissue such as domes with sealing rims for surrounding each of the soft tissue site and a regulated pump. The method for preparing the soft tissue site, and enhancing fat graft results, entails application of the distracting force to the targeted soft tissue site at least intermittently for some period of time and preferably several weeks prior to the graft procedure. A related aspect of the invention includes following the preparation steps by transfer of fat from other areas of the subject to the subject's soft tissue site, and then reapplication of the distractive force to the soft tissue site that received the autologous fat graft. Alternatively, fat from genetically related sources may be used, and the fat may be further processed prior to injection. Substantial soft tissue augmentation, high rates of graft survival and negligible graft necrosis (data demonstrating 80% survival and only 20% necrosis is presented) or calcification result from the practice of these methods.
