A campaign highlighting the benefits of composting household waste, supported by the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, was launched on 1 July 2016 in Pljevlja, by the Montenegrin Sustainable Development and Tourism Ministry, the Municipality of Pljevlja and the Eco-Centre Dolphin NGO.

Some 40 participants - representatives of the Sustainable Development and Tourism Ministry; the municipal authorities of Berane, Bijelo Polje and Pljevlja; local public utility companies from Pljevlja and Kotor; and NGOs as well as citizens, attended the campaign launch.

“Composting household waste is just an element of broader waste management, one of the most current issues facing Montenegrin authorities in their efforts to bring the relevant policy, strategy and legislative frameworks in line with the international standards and requirements of the advancing integration processes,” said Programme Manager at the OSCE Mission Vladimir Ragozin.

President of the Municipality of Pljevlja Mirko Đačić said: “Our municipality is actively involved in enhancing the local environment, especially regarding air quality improvements.”

State Secretary at the Sustainable Development and Tourism Ministry Daliborka Pejović stated that the primary waste separation is unquestionable and the educational campaigns are crucial bearing in mind the State’s plan of 50-70% of waste to be primary separated d until 2020.

“The waste should be perceived as a resource that can be further used through development of recycling and composting industry,” said Director of Eco-Centre Dolphin NGO Ljilja Radunović. “It is recommended, under the EU Directive on Landfills, to consider the policy of the closure of landfills starting from 2020 because they proved to be unsustainable.”

Predstavljanje će se održati u četvrtak, 21. studenog 2024. s početkom u 17.00 sati u prostoru Studijske čitaonice Gradske i sveučilišne knjižnice Osijek. Program će moderirati Saša Drinić i Željko Garmaz.

Ironwoman: moja priča knjiga je o ženi koja je, kako navodi urednica knjige Korana Svilar, “životu u inat i životu za ljubav odlučila da neće više samo ‘hodati’, nego trčati, plivati i pedalirati stotinama kilometara – ona će se natjecati u triatlonu, jer život se živi, a ne preživljava”. Iznenađujući sve koji svjedoče njezinoj odluci da pomiče vlastite granice, trpjet će bol i previranja, plakat će i smijati se, upoznat će vlastito tijelo u najekstremnijim uvjetima, prkosit će sebi i svima koji sumnjaju i natjecati se u Ironmanu, najtežoj utrci na svijetu. Ništa nije nemoguće onome tko ima volju pobijediti samoga sebe, dokazuje Đurđica Orepić, najbolja svjetska Ironwoman u svojoj dobnoj skupini.

U memoarskoj prozi Ironwoman: moja priča Đurđica Orepić nadahnuto ispisuje svoje nevjerojatno iskustvo, ne štedeći ni srce ni smisao za humor. I jedinstvena Đu pobjeđuje još jednom. Konkurencija je bila vrlo jaka, a u sastavu hrvatske reprezentacije našao se i član AK Slavonija-Žito Lovro Nedeljković. U utrci seniora na 10.000 metara naš je dugoprugaš zauzeo vrlo dobro, osmo mjesto s rezultatom 31:59,33.

Zlato je osvojio Albanac David Nikolli s vremenom 30:24,61, srebro je zaslužio Turčin Ayetullah Aslanhan (30:32,31), dok je bronca pripala Ukrajincu Ihoru Porozovu (30:44,86).

Nedeljković je, inače, ostvario najbolji plasman od hrvatskih reprezentativaca koji su nastupili u ovoj konkurenciji.

Postano: 13.11.2025. 20:15 (GMT 1) Ne postoji jedna tableta koja će smanjiti probavne tegobe i mogućnost razvoja probavnih bolesti, kaže nam odmah prof. dr. sc. Silvio Mihaljević, specijalist gastroenterologije iz Croatia poliklinike u Osijeku.

Kako navodi, stres, neredovita prehrana, hrana s puno masnoća i koncentriranih ugljikohidrata su sve redom faktori koji mogu dovesti do prolaznih probavnih tegoba, a, ako su pacijenti duže vremena izloženi nepravilnom stilu prehrane, mogu dovesti i do razvoja ozbiljnih bolesti, kao što su GERB, ulkusna bolest želuca i dvanaesnika, NASH, upalne bolesti crijeva, i slično.

Učestalost ovih problema pritom je sve veća. Primjerice, više od pola milijuna ljudi u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu ima upalnu bolest crijeva, od kojih su dva glavna oblika Crohnova bolest i ulcerozni kolitis. One nastaju kada imunološki sustav napadne crijeva, uzrokujući niz iscrpljujućih simptoma od bolova u trbuhu i gubitka težine do proljeva i krvi u stolici.

Vrlo često se gore navedene bolesti razvijaju tijekom dužeg vremenskog razdoblja s vrlo nespecifičnim tegobama u samom početku bolesti. Upravo je zato izuzetno važno obratiti pažnju na preventivne preglede, kaže prof. dr. sc. Mihaljević, jer postavljanje dijagnoze u ranoj fazi bolesti značajno doprinosi kraćem trajanju liječenja, manjom mogućnošću za razvojem brojnih komplikacija, a samim time i boljom kvalitetom života i puno kraćim izostankom s posla.

Uzmimo za primjer samo nealkoholnu bolest masne jetre, jednu od najčešćih uzroka kronične bolesti jetre te najbrže rastuće bolesti probavnog sustava. Prema posljednjim podacima, svaki četvrti građanin Hrvatske ima nealkoholnu masnu jetru kao posljedicu nezdrave prehrane, konzumacije alkohola i nekretanja. Prof. dr. sc. Mihaljević navodi stoga da je iznimno bitna redovita kontrola laboratorijskih nalaza koji ukazuju na funkciju jetre jer kronične bolesti nemaju značajnije probavne tegobe, nego samo blage i nespecifične smetnje kao brzo umaranje i opća slabost.

“Te nespecifične simptome pacijenti ignoriraju tako da se vrlo često brojne kronične bolesti jetre pronađu u poodmakloj fazi kada je liječenje manje uspješno. Zbog svega navedenog redovite kontrole jetrenih nalaza su najbitnije u ranom otkrivanju kroničnih bolesti jetre”, kaže specijalist gastroenterologije.

Kako bi potaknula građane na preventivnu brigu o zdravlju, Croatia Poliklinika u Osijeku do kraja studenog omogućuje 20 posto popusta na endoskopske zahvate - gastroskopiju bez i s anestezijom i kolonoskopiju bez ili s anestezijom. Naime, osobe koje u anamnezi imaju rak nekog od organa probavnog sustava trebali bi u ranijoj životnoj dobi obavljati preventivne preglede svake dvije godine, a osobe starije životne dobi jednom godišnje. Brojni ljudi pritom odgađaju ranije spomenute endoskopske zahvate zbog neugodnosti ili straha, zbog čega prof. dr. sc. Mihaljević ističe da je važno pacijentima objasniti važnost obje pretrage jer se promjene koje se nađu tim pretragama vrlo često ne mogu dokazati nikakvim drugim laboratorijskim i radiološkim pretragama.

“Kada im se objasni važnost navedenih pregleda te mogućnost dokumentiranja određenih promjena puno lakše će se odlučiti za navedene preglede. Prije gastroskopije možemo lokalno dati anestetik koji će u znatnoj mjeri umanjiti neugodnost samog pregleda, a prije kolonoskopije savjetujem uzimanje pola sata prije pregleda spazmolitika kako bi usporili peristaltiku crijeva i na taj način umanjili tegobe. Za one najzahtjevnije i najkompliciranije, oba pregleda možemo raditi u općoj anesteziji”, navodi prof. dr. sc. Mihaljević.

Like the last couple years, the "Brüggeljam" BMX & MTB contest in Schweinfurt, germany will take place again. The whole is organized by the guys of the Bike Unit e.V. and the municipal youth work of the city of Schweinfurt.

The date is the 23th of september at 14:00 clock. The park is open all day and the registration for the contest starts at 13:00 clock The start fee is 5€. There are two BMX groups and one MTB group. afterwards a Bunnyhop or Best Trick Contest will take place.

Adumbrated facts as emanating from the record are that the aforementioned FIR was registered on the basis of the statement recorded by respondent No. 2/complainant 2/complainant Karanveer Singh on 20.11.2013 alleging that on the same day, he along with his partner Maninder Singh was present in his office situated at Urban Estate, Phase-2, Phase 2, Jalandhar, when at about 03:30 PM, 1 of 15 Neutral Citation No:=2024:PHHC:144868 CRM-M-12293 12293-2015 (O&M) -2- two youths having muffled faces entered inside his office, whereas two persons remained outside the gate and stairs of his offic office. The youths, who had barged into his office, were armed with pistols and when the complainant complain asked them about the reason for their coming there,, they opened fire with their pistols upon him with intent to kill him. The complainant, however, managed to save ave himself by by throwing a chair towards them and the bullets so fired hit on the side of his cabin after piercing through the chair and then hit the roof. On raising alarm, alarm, all of them fled away from the spot. The complainant disclosed that he identified one one of them as Parshotam Kumar, resident of Bijnor. He also alleged that said Parshotam Kumar was having enmity with his brother Vikramjit Singh, who was residing in Norway and was going to get permanent residency. Harminder Harminder Singh, father of the complainant, complainant recorded his statement under Section 161 of the Code disclosing that he was proceeding towards the office of his son, when two car cars were noticed while going from the side of the office. One of those cars cars,, which was Indica make, was driven by accused Parshotam Parshotam Kumar and three persons were sitting therein. He also disclosed that in the second car, which was Tata 207 make, Pawan Kumar @ Pawan and Kulwinder Singh @ Kaka were sitting and he already knew them. 1. Since both the above appeals arise from a common verdict, made by the learned trial Judge concerned, hence both the appeals (supra) are amenable for a common verdict being made thereons.

Both the appeals (supra) are directed against the impugned verdict, as made on 20.09.2022, upon Sessions Case No.74 of 15.02.2018, by the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Ludhiana, wherethrough in 1 of 28 Neutral Citation No:=2024:PHHC:145851-DB CRA-D-1106-2022 AND CRA-D-62-2023 (O&M) -2- respect of charges drawn against the accused qua offences punishable under Sections 302/34 of the IPC, thus the learned trial Judge concerned, proceeded to record a finding of conviction against appellants-convicts. 2. The grievance of the Applicant is that the Applicant is the land holder of Khasra No. 614 measuring 1.113 hectare in Village Barua, Tehsil Gaurihar, Dist. Chhatarpur, MP and as a result of flooding of river Ken huge amount of sand and muram got deposited on his agriculture field. With a view to cultivate the said land, he intended to remove the aforesaid deposit of sand and muram which would amount to mining operation and as such requiring the grant of EC from SEIAA. However, it was brought to his notice on approaching the authorities of MPSEIAA that under the orders issued in Office Memorandum dated 24.12.2013 by the MoEF, Government of India, no such application could be entertained.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has inter alia submitted that the petitioner, who is a lady has been behind bars for almost 05 months. Further, a perusal of the FIR in question clearly reveals that no specific allegations have been levelled against her. It is thus very evident that she has been arrayed as an accused only because she happened to be the wife of the main accused - Navjot Singh. It has been further contended that she is confined in the Central Jail, Patiala, where one COVID-19 positive case too has been found. Hence, she be granted the concession of regular bail due to the prevailing outbreak of COVID-19 and also because the trial is unlikely to conclude in the near future.

Dr. Koroljow has found much success in his decades-spanning career

Er is een nieuwe vulkaan in Nederland ontdekt. Het gaat om een 150 miljoen jaar oude uitgedoofde vulkaan. Hij ligt 100 kilometer ten noordwesten van Texel, en is bij toeval door de Geologische Dienst Nederland gevonden. De nieuwe vulkaan is Mulciber genoemd, naar de Romeinse god van vuur en vulkanen. De diep begraven Mulciber werd herkend aan afwijkingen in de structuur van de ondergrond en het aardmagnetisch veld op die plek.

De vulkaan is de tweede van Nederland. Vijftig jaar geleden werd de eerste gevonden, in de Waddenzee. Daarnaast zijn er nog twee actieve vulkanen op Nederlands grondgebied, op de eilanden Saba en St. Eustatius. De Geologische Dienst, onderdeel van TNO, sluit niet uit dat er in de Noordzee nog meer uitgedoofde vulkanen zijn.

Mulciber werd ontdekt toen geologische gegevens van de Noordzee opnieuw werden geanalyseerd. TNO deed dit in opdracht van olie- en gasbedrijven, die op dit moment nog speuren naar aardgas in de bodem van de Noordzee.

Er zijn drie redenen waarom geconcludeerd is dat het om een vulkaan gaat, vertelt Michiel van der Meulen van de Geologische Dienst Nederland. Het eerste vermoeden ontstond door seismische gegevens.

"Door geluidsgolven de bodem in te sturen, maakt de weerkaatsing op grondlagen het mogelijk om de ondergrond in kaart te brengen. Door een nabijgelegen boring, die in de jaren 80 werd gedaan om te zoeken naar olie en gas, zijn vulkanische gesteenten gevonden. Omdat er ook nog een afwijking in het aardmagnetisch veld was, is geconcludeerd dat het hier om een vulkaan moet gaan."

Van der Meulen noemt het een spannende ontdekking. "Hoe vaak maak je nou mee in je carrière dat je een naam mag bedenken voor een vulkaan? De Noordzee en de geologische afzettingen erin lijken voor mij op het lezen van een spannend boek. Het grote verhaal denken we nu wel te kennen. Maar als je het herleest, worden personages en verhaallijnen steeds duidelijker. Deze ontdekking draagt dus bij aan de algemene kennis die er is over onze leefomgeving."

Noordzee vulkanisch gebied

De onderzoekers sluiten overigens uit dat de Mulciber opnieuw actief kan worden. "De omstandigheden die toen tot de vorming van de vulkaan leidden, zijn er eenvoudigweg niet meer."

Dat er in de Noordzee vulkanische activiteit is geweest, was al langer bekend. De vulkaan Mulciber was actief tijdens het opbreken van het supercontinent Pangea, waardoor uiteindelijk het noordelijk deel van de Atlantische Oceaan werd gevormd tussen Europa en Amerika.

Volgens Van der Meulen is het niet uniek dat er oud materiaal van een boring uit de jaren 80 bewaard is gebleven. Het Kernhuis in Zeist bevat nog gesteentemonsters van zesduizend van dit soort oude boringen in de diepe ondergrond. Een ware schat aan gegevens, zegt hij.

Grote waarde voor verduurzaming

"Als een bedrijf zo'n boring uitvoert, waarvoor een vergunning nodig is, leveren ze gegevens en monsters aan ons. Die zijn eerst geheim, maar na een paar jaar maken we de informatie openbaar. Als je al deze boringen opnieuw zou moeten doen, zou het tientallen miljarden euro's kosten."

De oude gegevens zijn van enorme waarde voor de verduurzaming van onze energievoorziening, zegt Van der Meulen, "We kunnen de gegevens die in het verleden zijn verzameld voor de olie- en gaswinning opnieuw gebruiken voor studies naar geothermie, energieopslag of CO2-opslag." Ook kan er mee worden gezocht naar aardgas in nieuwe kleinere gasvelden.

"Het energieonderzoek van TNO richt zich tegenwoordig op duurzame energiebronnen. Maar voor we hiermee in Nederland aan de behoefte kunnen voorzien, hebben we nog gas nodig. Nu de aardgaswinning in Groningen wordt afgebouwd, wordt er met name nog gas gewonnen op de Noordzee. In dat kader zijn we daar af en toe nog bij betrokken, om informatie te leveren."
