The three-month program aligns with Pastor Doug Batchelor’s upcoming Prophecy Odyssey evangelistic series in New York City in September. Our instructors and guest speakers have excelled in their ministry fields and will give you a wider breadth of outreach and Bible knowledge.

Students will also go beyond the classroom to win souls for Jesus, working directly with Amazing Facts and churches to gain valuable outreach experience that will make an eternal difference. Says Pastor Doug, “AFCOE is about learning while doing. Students do real work in real communities and with real people, bringing real results for the Master.”

OutKast In Class: Using Hip-Hop To Teach Social Justice

The Georgia Institute of Technology is known for graduating its students from nationally-ranked programs in science, technology, engineering and math. A new class taught by visiting professor Dr. Joyce Wilson is using hip-hop to take those students down a more creative pathway than their STEM studies to learn about issues such as race, poverty and cultural identity. The class is titled “Exploring the Lyrics of OutKast and Trap Music to Explore Politics of Social Justice.” Dr. Wilson joined me in the studio to explain why she’s teaching trap at Tech. INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHTS On using hip-hop to teach social issues at Georgia Tech I think teaching this at an institute of technology is important. It's an opportunity for them to get technological training but also engage in humanistic perspectives around art and social justice. These are the next generation of leaders doing things with science, technology, engineering and math. I feel at home because I'm kind of a math nerd myself. But I also

JENNIFER ZETLAN: A day without breathing. I long to see your face, the twinkle of your eyes. LUNDEN: The email is from my beloved. She says she's written some lyrics to songs she wants to sing to me and adds a postscript. ZETLAN: I've taken up learning a new language in quarantine, so all the songs will be in German. The Customer Is Always Right. Except When They Won't Wear A Mask

They fume and rage and demand their rights. Sometimes they even get violent. In the age of COVID-19, most people practice social distancing guidelines when they go into stores and restaurants, putting on masks and standing 6 feet behind other customers. Still, there are the nightmare customers — those who refuse to comply. "I've had a lot of conflict. I've had a lot of pushback from people," says Brenda Leek, owner of Curbside Eatery in La Mesa, Calif. One woman entered Leek's restaurant without a mask, pulling her T-shirt over her face. Leek told her to mask up or leave. "So then she's like, 'This is ridiculous! You're discriminating against me!' Told me I would be hearing from her attorney. And I said, 'That's fine,' " Leek says. Encounters like that are anything but unusual. The Internet is filled with videotaped confrontations involving customers who flout social distancing rules. Sometimes they insist on entering without face coverings. Other times one customer stands too close to

Copyright 2019 NPR. To see more, visit MARY LOUISE KELLY, HOST: This month in All Tech Considered, why everyone wants to break up big tech. From federal regulators to Congress to state attorneys general, everyone seems to be trying to figure out whether major tech companies have gotten too big, too powerful and maybe broken antitrust laws. For clues about what Google and Facebook and Amazon and Apple might face, we're going to take a look back at one of the biggest antitrust cases of the past few decades. (SOUNDBITE OF ARCHIVED NPR BROADCAST) UNIDENTIFIED PERSON: After weeks of mounting tension, today the Justice Department and a coalition of 20 states filed a pair of broad antitrust lawsuits against the world's leading software company Microsoft. KELLY: Now, that is from our show on May 18, 1998. The case had actually started to take shape almost a decade earlier, and the end of it wouldn't come until years later. Well, here to explain the lessons that today's big tech giants can take

Houston Rockets Face Backlash After Manager Tweets Support For Hong Kong Protests

ARI SHAPIRO, HOST: A bipartisan delegation of Congresspeople is just back from Ukraine. It was a trip designed to strengthen the U.S.-Ukraine alliance, and it was planned before news broke of the whistleblower complaint against President Trump involving that same country. Congressman John Garamendi led the delegation as a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee. And the Democrat from California joins us now. Welcome, Congressman. JOHN GARAMENDI: Good to be with you. SHAPIRO: One central question in the impeachment inquiry is whether President Trump demanded help investigating a political rival in exchange for U.S. aid to Ukraine. And I know that aid was a central topic on your trip, so what did you learn about Ukraine's reliance on American assistance? GARAMENDI: Well, first of all, Ukraine is an extraordinary country. These citizens of that country are determined to be independent. They have been fighting a war against Russia for the last five years. They've lost 13- to 14

Trust in Me and Fall as Well

Satan's most successful scheme in deceiving man has been to conceal his real purpose and his true character. He represents himself as man's friend - a benefactor of the race, an angel from Heaven doing a good work for humanity, (2Red, 34). He believes his own lies and convinces others of the same. Does any of this seem all that foreign and unfamiliar ? Does any of this sound all that distant and strange ? Tune in now as we study Satan's character and the war in Heaven after his rebellion. We'll discuss too another of his lies about the singular path to salvation, and we'll explain the steps to conversion. There's so much created confusion, but we must not give ground to the devil. We must believe in God's faithfulness and care, we must give our Father a chance to provide, a chance to sustain us and a chance to strengthen us. "Never could there be a better Master, for His service is freedom," (C.H.S.). Freedom in truth indeed. 1.- How could Satan and his angels fight against Michael and His angels, if Satan had been cast down to Earth ? 2.- Is the Torah relevant for Christians today ? 3.- Why do some religions believe that they are the only ones that have the truth ? 4.- What should I do if I find a job that requires me to work one Sabbath a month ? 5.- When we get to Heaven will we still have the same character that we died with ? 6.- Have the prophecies about the sun turning dark, the moon turning red and the stars falling already taken place ? or are they still ahead of us ? 7.- Is Genesis 1 verse 26 telling us that we are to be good stewards of the earth ? 8.- What did Jesus mean when He said, “The kingdom of God is within you” ? 9.- Where in the Scriptures can I find when the end of probation takes place ? is it at the death decree, or at the mark of the beast ? 10.- How can we explain that Adam and Eve were clothed with light ? 11.- In Jeremiah 3 verse 9, who is the “she” that is being referenced ? 12.- Could the second disciple on the road to Emmaus be Cleopas’ wife ? 13.- Will God put people to sleep if they can’t handle the end-time persecution ? 14.- Does the rainbow cloud in “The Days of Noah” DVD series represent the New Jerusalem ? 15.- Is it possible for people to be demon possessed ? 16.- In 1 John 2, do verses 7 and 8 contradict each other ? 17.- What is another way to witness besides sharing pamphlets ? 18.- Once you accept Jesus Christ into your heart, do you need to be baptized ? 19.- Where did Cain find his wife ? 20.- Have I lost my salvation if I’m not doing what God wants ? 21.- Why did Jesus have to be tortured in order to save mankind ? Couldn't He have just died ? 22.- Genesis 1 verse 14 says God created night and day, but Revelation 21 verse 25 says that there is no night in the New Jerusalem. Will you explain this ? 23.- In Mark 12 verse 26 Jesus said that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the God of the living, not the dead. Does this mean they were taken to Heaven ?
