Various embodiments concern a suspension assembly of a disk drive. The suspension assembly includes a load beam comprising a major planar area formed from a substrate. The load beam further comprises a window in the substrate, a dimple formed from the substrate, and a flange. The flange is a region of the major planar area that extends partially around the dimple but does not extend along an edge of the dimple. The edge of the dimple is adjacent to the window. The dimple is in contact with the flexure. A HAMR block or other element can extend through the window. The lack of a full flange can minimize the necessary clearance between the dimple and the HAMR block or other element and thereby allow the window to be enlarged to accommodate the HAMR block or other element.

An optical-information recording/reproducing apparatus of the present invention is capable of carrying out position detection of a reproduction image even if reproduction image data with incomplete alignment marks (markers) is obtained. A relative correlation value is calculated from a first correlation value retained by a first correlation-value retaining unit and a second correlation value retained by a second correlation-value retaining unit, and pass/fail of a position detection result of the marker is judged according to the relative correlation value. The pass/fail of the position detection result is judged by mutually comparing the detection positions of the markers judged as passes by the relative correlation-value judgement, the positions of the markers judged as fail by the relative correlation-value judgement or the mutual position judgement is complemented, and the position of two-dimensional data is detected based on the pass-judged markers and the complemented markers.

The present technology relates to a recording control apparatus, a recording control method, a drive controlling controller, a drive controlling method, a recording medium, and a program capable of reading information more reliably. A manager generates DMSs as management information for managing user data areas and spare areas of an optical disc. Further, the manager records the generated DMS in a DMA area of DS0 of the optical disc, and, in addition, records the generated DMS in a DMA mirror area of the DS1 surface of the optical disc. As described above, since DMSs as management information are recorded in the different areas of the optical disc, even if DMS cannot be read from one area, DMS can be read from the other area. The present technology is applicable to a recording and reproducing apparatus.

The present disclosure relates to a reproduction apparatus. The reproduction apparatus may comprise an optical filter and electric filters. The optical filter may be configured to provide electrical signals corresponding to regions of an optical beam returning from an optical medium, the optical beam being incident on the optical filter, the regions of the optical beam corresponding to different bands in a line density direction and/or a track density direction. The electric filters may be configured to provide outputs based, at least in part, on the electrical signals provided by the optical filter, wherein the reproduction apparatus is configured to obtain a reproduced signal by combining the outputs of the electric filters.

The system and corresponding process includes a system for producing a mechanical image of original audio source media and a system for encoding the mechanical image information into a digital file. A processing system recovers the mechanical image information from the digital file at a receiving end. Audio processing is used to produce the original audio source material without the standard losses associated with digital encoding of audio material

A storage device carrier includes a first frame and a second frame. The first frame includes two opposite sidewalls. Two through holes are defined in each of the sidewalls, for allowing screws to extend therethrough. The second frame is detachably mounted in the first frame. The second frame includes two opposite side plates. Each side plate defines two through slots for allowing screws and unthreaded fasteners to extend therethrough. A computer-implemented method, according to one embodiment, includes: collecting performance data corresponding to a tape drive and/or a magnetic tape head, storing the performance data in memory, and using the data to perform problem analysis. The performance data includes a resistance of the tape drive and/or magnetic tape head and a resolution of the tape drive and/or the magnetic tape head. Moreover, performing the problem analysis includes: determining a condition of the tape drive and/or the magnetic tape head, wherein the condition is selected from a group consisting of: wear, corrosion, defective leads and wire bonds. Other systems, methods, and computer program products are described in additional embodiments.

An optical information recording/reproducing apparatus and method thereof which compensate for the effect of mechanical instability on holographic data storage. A time dependent deviation profile of an optical beam during recording is determined. The time dependent deviation profile is related to a phase profile to be applied to a reference beam during recording or reproduction of a hologram, and the related phase profile is applied to the reference beam during recording or reproduction of the hologram.

A panel attachment system comprises a panel and a casing. The panel has a fixed mount bracket, and a sliding mount bracket. The casing has a first fixed mount boss, and a sliding mount boss. When the panel attachment system is in use, the fixed mount bracket is fixedly secured to the first fixed mount boss, and the sliding mount bracket is slidingly engaged with the sliding mount boss. This enables the panel to be detachably connected to the casing, such that any relative in-plane thermal expansion between the panel and the casing is accommodated by corresponding relative movement between the sliding mount bracket and the sliding mount bosses.

The invention includes an alignment device and system having a guide member, a support member and a connector which engages the guide member and the support member. The guide member may be a relatively flat piece attachable to and edge of a frame. In one aspect the guide member includes a perimeter slot. The support member may have a first portion generally perpendicular with a second portion and the first portion may be attached to an object (or integral with an object such as a window or door casing) which is to be aligned with a frame. The second portion may have a connector portion or threaded hole for receiving a connector. The connector may also engage the slot of the guide member. The device allows for desired alignment of an object within a frame by transferring rotational movement to linear movement.

In an embodiment, a side door for a vehicle can comprise: a structure comprising a plastic inner shell comprising a fiber strip, and a plastic outer shell comprising an outer shell support beam positioned across a width of the outer shell. The outer shell support beam can comprise a fiber strip with ≧50 wt. % fibers oriented at an angle of less than or equal to ±45° to a main axis. In an embodiment, a method for making the side door for a vehicle can comprise: flow molding a fiber-reinforced polymer over a fiber strip to form a plastic inner shell; flow molding a fiber-reinforced polymer over a fiber strip deposited to form a plastic outer shell, wherein the outer shell comprises an outer shell support beam positioned across a width of the outer shell; and joining the inner shell and the outer shell together to form a composite structure.

In one embodiment, a method conducted by a movable barrier gateway device is disclosed for controlling a movable barrier, comprising receiving, by a communication interface, a remote command from a remote control device to move the movable barrier, the remote command sent over a network, delaying transmission of a signal to a movable barrier controller to move the movable barrier, by a processor, for a predetermined time period after the remote command is received, detecting movement of the movable barrier within the predetermined time period by a barrier movement detector, and ignoring the remote command by the processor in response to detecting movement of the movable barrier within the predetermined time period.

The invention relates to a path-controlled adjustment device for a window pane of a motor vehicle, with a carrier assembly, with at least two guideways provided at the carrier assembly, which define an adjustment path for an adjustable window pane and which are spaced from each other transversely to the adjustment path, and with a driver which on the one hand includes means for connection of the window pane to be adjusted and which on the other hand is in engagement with the guideways so as to be longitudinally movable. The carrier assembly consists of at least two carrier elements which are connected with each other at a plurality of fixing points. On at least one carrier element fixing points, via which that carrier element is to be fixed at a further carrier element of the carrier assembly, are connected with each other by reinforcement paths.

An opening and closing apparatus includes: a drive unit provided in an opening and closing body which is openably and closeably attached to a main body, and opening and closing the opening and closing body with respect to the main body by driving the opening and closing body using electric power; a secondary energy storage device provided in the opening and closing body and electrically connected to the drive unit in such a manner that the secondary energy storage device can be inductively charged and can supply electric power to the drive unit; and an electric power receiving coil provided in the opening and closing body so as to be capable of facing an electric power transmitting coil which is provided on the main body, and is electrically connected to a primary energy storage device installed on the main body, and electrically connected to the secondary energy storage device.

A roll-up door seal that may be monolithically formed from a single material of uniform density. The seal is sized and adapted to assemble to a standard roll-up door frame without a separate or dedicated frame structure. The seal provides redundant sealing surfaces, positioned to cooperate with both the door and door frame, which ensure an effective and durable fluid tight seal between the cargo space enclosed by the roll-up door and the ambient environment. The seal may be produced by extrusion from a flexible, weather resistant material such as EPDM, thereby providing a low cost solution for sealing roll-up doors having industry standard door frame constructions. The seal is firmly engageable with the door frame, such that the seal may be installed with little or no secondary fixation.

An adjusting apparatus is provided in a sash to turn slats automatically while the sash is being opened. The adjusting apparatus includes a plurality of first engaging members, a driven unit, and a driving unit. The first engaging members are connected to the slats respectively. The driven unit is connected to the frame of the sash for reciprocation, and has a second engaging member, wherein all the first engaging members are engaged with the second engaging member. The driving unit is connected to the carrier and the driven unit respectively to drive the driven unit to move while the sash is being opened. The first engaging members are turned by the second engaging member when the driven unit is moved by the driving unit to turn the slats from the first position to the second position.

A mechanism is provided for balancing and positioning a sash of a self-balancing double-hung window assembly. The mechanism may include a fixed length cable, a pulley, first and second brackets and an adjustment member. The fixed length cable may include first and second ends. The pulley may support the cable. The first bracket may include one or more attachment points relative to the first end of the cable and may include an upper end and a lower end. The second bracket may be movable relative to the first bracket and may be configured to support the sash. The adjustment member may engage and extend through the lower end of the first bracket and may be movable relative to the first bracket to cause corresponding movement of the second bracket relative to the first end of the cable.

An automatic patio sliding door for residential (home) use is created using an existing motorized automatic system which is now in use in commercial, industrial, and public building entrances. A method incorporating a bracket system is used to apply the commercial (hanging track type) automatic door system to existing residential patio sliding doors or to new patio sliding doors. The purpose is to provide hands free opening and closing of patio glass or screen doors (single or double panels). This allows for ease of use of sliding doors when hands are full, guarantees the closing of screen doors or glass doors behind the person to prevent insects getting into the house or loss of air conditioning in the house, and provides an easy access door system in the home for the physically handicapped.

An image forming apparatus includes a cover and a supporting member. The cover includes a connecting portion, the supporting member has a first path which guides the connecting portion and a second path which is bifurcated from the first path. When the connecting portion is located at an end of the first path, the cover is supported at a first opening angle, and when the connecting portion is located at an end of the second path, the cover is supported at a second opening angle which is larger than the first opening angle. When the supporting member upwardly rotates in a state where the cover is supported at the first opening angle, the cover rotates so as to interwork with the rotation of the supporting member, the connecting portion moves from the first path to the second path by its own weight of the cover.

Methods and apparatus are provided for finishing a composite floor. The apparatus includes a grouting pan configured to be affixed to the rotating head of a finishing machine. The grouting pan has a planar bottom surface and a curved sidewall. Grouting pans are rotated over a prepped surface such that the curved sidewalls trowel the mortar onto the rough composite surface and the bottom surface which is in contact with the prepped floor forces the mortar into the surface voids such that a grouted surface.

Compositions having a high metal content comprising a metal salt solution, a stabilizer and one or more optional additives, wherein the metal salt solution comprises a metal ion, a counter ion and a solvent. The compositions are useful for forming films on substrates in the manufacture of solid state and integrated circuit devices.

An ion beam generator includes a plurality of arc chambers, wherein each arc chamber of the plurality of arc chamber is integral with every arc chamber of the plurality of arc chambers. The ion beam generator further includes a plurality of extraction slits, wherein each extraction slit of the plurality of extraction slits is configured to extract ions from a corresponding arc chamber of the plurality of arc chambers. The ion beam generator further includes a plurality of arc slits, wherein each arc slit of the plurality of arc slits is configured to provide an ion path between a corresponding extraction slit of the plurality of extraction slits and the corresponding arc chamber of the plurality of arc chambers.

A plasma processing apparatus may include: a plasma chamber; a power source to generate a plasma in the plasma chamber; an extraction voltage supply coupled to the plasma chamber to apply a pulsed extraction voltage between the plasma chamber and a substrate; an extraction assembly disposed along a side of the plasma chamber between the plasma chamber and the substrate, the extraction assembly having at least one aperture, the at least one aperture defining a first ion beam when the plasma is present in the plasma chamber and the pulsed extraction voltage is applied; a deflection electrode adjacent the extraction assembly; and a controller to synchronize application of the pulsed extraction voltage with application of a pulsed deflection voltage to the deflection electrode.

In one embodiment, a substrate processing apparatus includes a substrate retainer and a substrate rotator to retain and rotate a substrate, liquid feeders to supply a cleaning liquid, a rinse liquid and a first coating liquid to a first face of the substrate, a heater to heat the substrate from a second face of the substrate, and a controller to control processing of the substrate. The controller supplies the first coating liquid to the first face while rotating the substrate at a first number of revolution. The controller heats the substrate from the second face while rotating the substrate at a second number of revolution that is different from the first number of revolution after the first coating liquid is supplied, to evaporate a solvent from the first coating liquid to form a coating film containing a solute of the first coating liquid on the first face.

A method for producing a functional film is provided. In the method, a film is sequentially transferred through processing devices including a film inspection device. At least one expander roll is used for film transfer from a processing device to the film inspection device next to the processing device.

A method for making a composite polyamide membrane comprising a porous support and a polyamide layer, including the steps of: i) applying a polar solution comprising of polyiunctional amine monomer and a non-polar solution comprising a polyiunctional acyl halide monomer to a surface of a porous support and interfacially polymerizing the monomers to form a polyamide layer; and ii) exposing the thin film polyamide layer to nitrous acid; wherein the method is characterized by at least one of: conducting the interfacial polymerization of step i) in the presence of a subject amine-reactive compound, or applying a subject amine-reactive compound to the interfacially polymerized polyamide layer prior to step ii), wherein the subject amine-reactive compound is different from the polyiunctional acyl halide and polyiunctional amine monomers and is represented by the following formula:

Viscous liquid rubber compositions are applied to articles by brushing, rolling, pouring, or dipping to repair leaks or to modify the appearance and/or physical properties of the article, such as water-permeability, thermal insulation, shock resistance, vibration resistance, electrical insulation, and the like.

Apparatuses and methods for applying a transfer material onto the surface of an article are disclosed, including apparatuses and methods of transfer printing on and/or decorating three-dimensional articles, as well as the articles printed and/or decorated thereby. In some cases, the apparatuses and methods involve providing a deposition device, such as a printing device; providing a transfer component; depositing a material onto a portion of the transfer component with the deposition device; modifying the portion of the transfer component with the transfer material thereon to conform the transfer component to at least a portion of the surface of the three-dimensional article; and transferring the transfer material onto the surface of the article.

A low surface tension liquid is supplied from a low surface tension liquid supplying unit to a heated substrate to replace a processing liquid by the low surface tension liquid. The heating of the substrate is weakened and the low surface tension liquid is supplied from the low surface tension liquid supplying unit to the substrate, so that a liquid film of the low surface tension liquid is formed. The liquid film on the substrate is removed by strengthening the heating of the substrate without supplying the low surface tension liquid from the low surface tension liquid supplying unit to a central region of the substrate.

Fanfold and/or perforated media comprising a substrate including one or more friable coatings and an overcoat covering at least a portion of the one or more friable coatings proximate to one or more associated fanfolds and/or perforations is provided, wherein the overcoat mitigates spallation of the one or more friable coatings. Methods and apparatus for making the same are also disclosed.

Methods for controlled microstructure creation utilize seeding of amorphous layers prior to annealing. Seed crystals are formed on an amorphous layer or layers. The material, size, and spacing of the seed crystals may be varied, and multiple seed layers and/or amorphous layers may be utilized. Thereafter, the resulting assembly is annealed to generate a crystalline microstructure. Via use of these methods, devices having desirable microstructural properties are enabled.

A mask plate for laser irradiation and a method of laser encapsulation using the same are disclosed to improve the display effect of the encapsulated display panel and also the utilization of substrate thereof, so as to reduce the cost. The mask plate includes a laser blocking region and a laser transmitting region surrounding the laser blocking region, wherein the laser blocking region is configured to block laser having a predetermined wavelength; and the laser transmitting region is configured to allow the laser having the predetermined wavelength to transmit there-through; along a direction perpendicular to a surface of the mask plate, a width of a cross-section of the laser transmitting region is smaller than a diameter of a light spot of the laser having the predetermined wavelength.

There is provided a substrate processing apparatus including a first exhaust system which is connected to a first pump and a second pump of a type different from the first pump and is configured to exhaust the interior of a process chamber, a second exhaust system which is connected to the second pump and is configured to exhaust the interior of the process chamber and a control part configured to control the first exhaust system and the second exhaust system such that, when the processing gas is exhausted from the interior of the process chamber, the interior of the process chamber is first exhausted by the second exhaust system, and then an exhaust path is switched from the second exhaust system to the first exhaust system after an internal pressure of the process chamber reaches a predetermined pressure, to exhaust the process chamber by the first exhaust system.

A film formation apparatus and a film formation method that can homogenize the distribution of gas in each zone in a chamber and improve film formation precision are provided. A film formation apparatus according to one embodiment includes: a chamber which includes a plurality of zones into which gas is introduced, and a plurality of discharge ports that discharge the gas located in at least any of the zones and that can individually adjust an opening state; and a transportation unit that transports a substrate so as to pass through the plurality of the zones in the chamber.

The disclosure relates to microwave cavity plasma reactor (MCPR) apparatus and associated tuning and process control methods that enable the microwave plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition (MPACVD) of a component such as diamond. Related methods enable the control of the microwave discharge position, size and shape, and enable efficient matching of the incident microwave power into the reactor prior to and during component deposition. Pre-deposition tuning processes provide a well matched reactor exhibiting a high plasma reactor coupling efficiency over a wide range of operating conditions, thus allowing operational input parameters to be modified during deposition while simultaneously maintaining the reactor in a well-matched state. Additional processes are directed to realtime process control during deposition, in particular based on identified independent process variables which can effectively control desired dependent process variables during deposition while still maintaining a well-matched power coupling reactor state.

An adjusting method for adjusting an imprint apparatus includes a preparation step of preparing a sample for evaluating a state in which a contact region of a test mold is in contact with an imprint material supplied on a substrate; an evaluation step of evaluating the sample; and an adjustment step of adjusting the imprint apparatus based on a result of evaluation obtained in the evaluation step. The contact region includes a flat region which does not include a pattern, the evaluation in the evaluation step includes a first evaluation, which is an evaluation of a state of the imprint material in the flat region, and the imprint apparatus is adjusted based on a result of the first evaluation in the adjustment step.

A method for producing a porous polyimide film comprises: forming a first un-burned composite film wherein the first film is formed on a substrate using a first varnish that contains (A1) a polyamide acid or a polyimide and (B1) fine particles at a volume ratio (A1):(B1) of from 19:81 to 45:65; forming a second un-burned composite film wherein the second film is formed on the first film using a second varnish that contains (A2) a polyamide acid or a polyimide and (B2) fine particles at a volume ratio (A2):(B2) of from 20:80 to 50:50 and has a lower fine particle content ratio than the first varnish; burning wherein an un-burned composite film composed of the first film and the second film is burned, thereby obtaining a polyimide-fine particle composite film; and a fine particle removal step wherein the fine particles are removed from the polyimide-fine particle composite film.

A method of preparing an electrochemical electrode which is partially or totally covered with a film that is obtained by spreading an aqueous solution comprising a water-soluble binder over the electrode and subsequently drying same. The production cost of the electrodes thus obtained is reduced and the surface porosity thereof is associated with desirable resistance values.

A lighting apparatus includes: a projection lens; a light source behind the projection lens; a reflector that reflects light from the light source toward the projection lens; and a shield that blocks a portion of the light reflected by the reflector to form a cutoff line in a distribution pattern of the light. The present invention is a reflector with a cylindrical shape which diffuses the finite point light sources in a linear array to present a substantially smooth bar of light to the viewer of the reflector.

Disclosed are an LED illumination apparatus and its manufacturing method. A metal sheet is stamped to form a conductive plate with 3D space, and the conductive plate includes an illumination circuit, and a support frame for supporting the conductive plate to form different types of illumination apparatuses. The support frame is provided for supporting and fixing the conductive plate to facilitate the conductive plate to form a 3D curved surface, and an LED chip soldering point protection mechanism is provided for protecting each LED chip soldering point, so that the illumination apparatus is applicable for mass production to improve the yield rate and meet the high heat dissipation efficiency, large-range illumination, material saving, lightweight and/or environmental protection requirements.

An IC-rated airtight luminaire including a housing divided on a vertical plane to form two housing portions releasably coupled to one another to form an open cylindrical lower portion, a heat sink upper housing portion, and a heat conducting lamp assembly adjustment track enclosed within the housing. Disposed within the housing are heat sink walls slidably capturing a slide portion of a lamp assembly. A lamp holder integral with the slide bar includes a lens that directs a beam of light through an opening in a ceiling substrate in which the housing is installed, and an expansion ring rotatingly disposed around the open cylindrical lower portion of the housing engages and secures the housing in a ceiling substrate while also permitting the housing to freely turn within the expansion ring so as to allow adjustment of a beam of light directed from the lamp assembly.

A dust prevention and heat dissipation module for a color wheel and a light source system employing the same. The color wheel is sealed in a color wheel housing which has an air inlet and an air outlet. The dust prevention and heat dissipation module has a leading-in air channel in communication with the air inlet of the housing, a leading-out air channel in communication with the air outlet of the housing, a filtering device at an inlet of the leading-in air channel and an outlet of the leading-out air channel, and a fan which circulate the air via the leading-in air channel and the leading-out air channel. The air flow caused by the fan realizes heat dissipation of the color wheel, and the filtering device filters the air flowing through the color wheel housing, thereby reducing the amount of dust adhered to the surface of the color wheel.

A device includes an optical delivery fiber having a core having a first inside diameter joined to a capillary having an outer surface and a capillary tube having an inner surface. The capillary tube has a second inside diameter in the region of the joining to the optical delivery fiber. The second inside diameter is less than the first inside diameter of the delivery fiber.

A backlight module and a liquid crystal display device using the backlight module are provided. The backlight module comprises a backlight source, which includes a plate body provided with a light source lamp, and a reflector arranged on at least one longitudinal edge of the plate body. An inner wall of the reflector forms a reflective surface, which is arranged as extending obliquely away from the light source lamp. The backlight module enables light emitted from the light source lamp to enter the light guide plate to the largest extent, thereby removing the problems of light leakage and low light efficiency. Hence, in a liquid crystal display device using the backlight module, electric current can be reduced while brightness is maintained, thereby achieving the purpose of energy conservation.

A white reflective film for an edge light backlight improves the luminance and unevenness therein, voids uneven close contact with, and scraping of, the light guide plate, and minimizes the crushing of convexes formed on at least one side, even in cases where the reflective film is laid directly over a corrugated chassis designed to house circuitry or the reflective film is used in combination with LEDs. The film satisfies (i) to (iii): (i) a stiffness of 2 to 10 mN·m; (ii) convexes have been formed on at least one face (A), and their maximum height is 5 to 60 μm; (iii) the convexes contain an aromatic polyester.

A planar illumination apparatus according to an embodiment includes a light source and a light guide plate. The light source includes a light emitting diode and a wavelength conversion material that is excited by light emitted from the light emitting diode so as to emit light, and emits white light. The light guide plate includes an incident end surface on which the light source is disposed, and an emission surface that emits light incident from the incident end surface. The light guide plate is provided with a light scattering unit on at least one of the emission surface and a rear surface opposed to the emission surface. The light scattering unit mainly scatters light emitted from the light emitting diode than light emitted from the wavelength conversion material.
