ref CME ClearPort API Entity Reference Data Changes for Brokers By feedproxy.google.com Published On :: 2019-04-06T01:11:36Z Please be advised that effective Sunday, August 25, 2013 (for the August 26th business date) there will be changes to CME ClearPort API Entity Reference Data that will impact Party Detail List Reports and Party Entitlement Reports for CME ClearPort API Brokers and CME ClearPort API Platforms who request Entity Reference Data on behalf of Brokers. These changes will be available for testing in the New Release environment on August 14th. Changes to Existing Reponses When a Broker (or Platform on behalf of Broker) submits a request for all related accounts using the Party Details List Request message or a request for all related accounts which trade a particular product using the Party Entitlement Request message, the following information is provided for each account in Related Party Detail blocks: The Clearing ID of the Account’s Clearing Firm (Party Role 1), the Trading Firm / Account Owner’s firm identifier (Party Role 7), and the Broker Firm’s firm identifier (Party Role 30). Going forward, when the same requests are submitted, an additional Related Party Detail block will appear on the response if there is an Asset Manager Firm assigned to the account: the Asset Manager Firm’s identifier (Party Role 49). In the following examples, ACCT1 has been assigned an Asset Manager by the Clearing Firm, while ACCT2 has not. <FIXML v="5.0 SP2" xv="109" s="20090815" cv="CME.0001"> <PtyDetlListRpt ReqID="123437" RptID="1376864472358" ReqRslt="0" Txt="Valid request"> <Hdr SID="CME" SSub="CPAPI" TID="PLTFM" TSub="username"/> <PtyDetl ID="ACCT1" Src="C" R="24"> <AltPty ID="A-12345" Src="H"/> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="123" Src="C" R="1"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="2"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="trading_firm1" Src="C" R="7"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="36"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="broker_firm1" Src="C" R="30"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="22"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="asset_mgr_firm1" Src="C" R="49"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="32"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> </PtyDetl> <PtyDetl ID="ACCT2" Src="C" R="24"> <AltPty ID="A-67890" Src="H"/> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="456" Src="C" R="1"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="2"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="trading_firm2" Src="C" R="7"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="36"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="broker_firm1" Src="C" R="30"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="22"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> </PtyDetl> </PtyDetlListRpt> </FIXML> <FIXML v="5.0 SP2" xv="109" s="20090815" cv="CME.0001"> <PtyEntlmntRpt ReqID="123412" RptID="1376865078371" ReqRslt="0" Txt="Valid request"> <Hdr SID="CME" SSub="CPAPI" TID="PLTFM" TSub="username"/> <PtyEntlmnt> <PtyDetl ID="ACCT1" Src="C" R="24"> <AltPty ID="A-12345" Src="H"/> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="broker_firm1" Src="C" R="30"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="22"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="trading_firm1" Src="C" R="7"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="36"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="asset_mgr_firm1" Src="C" R="49"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="32"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="123" Src="C" R="1"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="2"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> </PtyDetl> <PtyDetl ID="ACCT2" Src="C" R="24"> <AltPty ID="A-67890" Src="H"/> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="broker_firm1" Src="C" R="30"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="22"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="trading_firm2" Src="C" R="7"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="36"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> <ReltdPtyDetl ID="456" Src="C" R="1"> <Rltnshp Rltnshp="2"/> </ReltdPtyDetl> </PtyDetl> <Entlmnt Typ="0" Ind="Y"> <InstrmtScope Oper="1" ID="NN" Src="H" SecTyp="FUT" Exch="NYMEX"/> </Entlmnt> </PtyEntlmnt> </PtyEntlmntRpt> </FIXML> NEW- Broker Requests Asset Manager Users at an Asset Manager Firm In a previous CME ClearPort API release a change was made to allow Brokers (or Platforms on behalf of Brokers) to specify asset manager users in party role 36 (instead of a trader at the account owner firm) to satisfy the trader individual requirements for applicable market types like energy and metals. ref Can a Parent Refuse the Brain Death Examination? By pediatrics.aappublications.org Published On :: 2020-04-01T01:00:57-07:00 The American Academy of Neurology believes that doctors have the right to do tests to evaluate whether a patient is brain dead even if the family does not consent. They argue that physicians have "both the moral authority and professional responsibility" to do such evaluations, just as they have the authority and responsibility to declare someone dead by circulatory criteria. Not everyone agrees. Truog and Tasker argue that apnea testing to confirm brain death has risks and that, for some families, those risks may outweigh the benefits. So, what should doctors do when caring for a patient whom they believe to be brain dead but whose parents refuse to allow testing to confirm that the patient meets neurologic criteria for death? In this article, we analyze the issues that arise when parents refuse such testing. Full Article

ref Current Referral Patterns and Means to Improve Accuracy in Diagnosis of Undescended Testis By pediatrics.aappublications.org Published On :: 2011-01-24T04:01:05-08:00 Primary care providers (PCPs) identify patients with undescended testis (UDT) and refer them to surgical specialists. Referral beyond the recommended times for orchiopexy has been reported, and PCPs' accuracy in identifying and distinguishing UDTs from retractile testes has been questioned. We describe 3 observations that are strongly correlated with UDT, that is, birth history of UDT, prematurity, and visible scrotal asymmetry. UDT diagnoses are best made by 8 months of age, to reduce confusion with testicular retraction and to facilitate timely orchiopexy. (Read the full article) Full Article

ref Wide Variation in Reference Values for Aluminum Levels in Children By pediatrics.aappublications.org Published On :: 2011-12-05T00:07:35-08:00 Aluminum is ubiquitous and exposure is unavoidable. Adverse health effects have been associated with large exposures in workers or those with chronic kidney disease. There are no established age-specific reference ranges or toxicity data for populations of healthy children. We demonstrate the wide variability of aluminum reference ranges in biological samples and that the ranges are not based on studies including healthy children. Further research is necessary to establish clinically relevant reference ranges for healthy children. (Read the full article) Full Article

ref Urinary Proteome Analysis to Exclude Severe Vesicoureteral Reflux By pediatrics.aappublications.org Published On :: 2012-01-23T00:06:45-08:00 High-grade vesicoureteral reflux is a risk factor for impaired renal function. Diagnosis by voiding cystourethrography is invasive and highly uncomfortable. As only a minority of children show high-grade vesicoureteral reflux, this exposes the majority to unnecessary distress. This case-control study proved that high-grade vesicoureteral reflux is identifiable with high sensitivity using urinary proteome analysis, based on capillary electrophoresis coupled to mass spectrometry in a cohort suspected of having vesicoureteral reflux, thus sparing the majority of children from invasive diagnostics. ref Self-Referral and Serious Illness in Children With Fever By pediatrics.aappublications.org Published On :: 2012-02-27T00:08:31-08:00 General measures discourage all self-referrals to the emergency department. For adults, self-referral to the emergency department has been associated with nonsevere disease, whereas severity of illness of self-referred children is still unknown. One in four parents properly judged and acted on their febrile child’s illness by presentation to the emergency department on their own initiative. Measures to discourage parents from self-referral may potentially result in delayed or missed diagnoses. (Read the full article) Full Article
ref Reference Ranges for Lymphocyte Counts of Neonates: Associations Between Abnormal Counts and Outcomes By pediatrics.aappublications.org Published On :: 2012-04-16T00:07:49-07:00 High or low lymphocyte counts at birth have been reported as a marker for subsequent intraventricular hemorrhage, retinopathy of prematurity, and periventricular leukomalacia. However, this conclusion is questionable because reference ranges for lymphocyte counts have not been constructed by using large numbers of neonates. This study provides reference ranges for lymphocytes of neonates. A high count at birth is associated with early onset sepsis and IVH and a low count with early onset sepsis, IVH, and retinopathy of prematurity. Among neonates with birth asphyxia, a low count identifies a high risk for death. (Read the full article) Full Article
ref Missed Opportunities in the Referral of High-Risk Infants to Early Intervention By pediatrics.aappublications.org Published On :: 2012-05-21T00:07:42-07:00 Neonatal follow-up programs are designed in part to identify developmental delays among high-risk infants after NICU hospitalization and make referrals to state-funded early intervention. Early intervention has been shown to benefit children with developmental delays. Many high-risk infants demonstrating developmental delays at neonatal follow-up programs are not referred to early intervention. Subspecialty clinics share responsibility with the medical home in referring children from birth through three years with developmental problems to early intervention services. ref Health Care Provider and Caregiver Preferences Regarding Nasogastric and Intravenous Rehydration By pediatrics.aappublications.org Published On :: 2012-11-19T00:07:57-08:00 Some children with gastroenteritis fail to respond to oral rehydration. Subsequent interventions are dictated by regional preference. In North America, nasogastric rehydration is rarely administered. Caregiver and health care providers’ perspectives regarding its use have not been described previously. Both caregivers and health care providers would select intravenous rehydration instead of nasogastric rehydration when oral rehydration fails. Greater knowledge mobilization efforts will be required for nasogastric rehydration to be adopted into clinical practice. (Read the full article) Full Article

Consistent use of controller medication could improve outcomes for these students, but a predictive model of appropriate use of controller medication is needed. This study adds risk tolerance and time preference to previously studied factors of nonadherence with control medication. These preferences have substantial impacts on use of controller medication and the potential success of asthma education programs. (Read the full article) Full Article
ref New Reference Curves for Head Circumference at Birth, by Gestational Age By pediatrics.aappublications.org Published On :: 2013-03-18T00:07:03-07:00 Head circumference (HC) at birth reflects brain development in utero. However, HC charts used in Canada are either dated, mixed-gender, nonrepresentative of lower gestational ages, or reflective of other populations in the world. We developed recent and gender-specific reference curves for HC at birth for singletons of 23 to 41 completed weeks’ gestational age, which included a large number of very prematurely born infants, reflecting the current geotemporal Canadian population and advances in obstetric care. ref Age at Referral and Mortality From Critical Congenital Heart Disease By pediatrics.aappublications.org Published On :: 2014-06-30T00:06:30-07:00 Early referral of infants with critical congenital heart disease (CCHD) is recommended to reduce mortality. However, few population-based data have been published showing the relationship between CCHD neonatal mortality and timing of cardiac evaluation at a specialty center. In neonates with CCHD, 35% were not evaluated at a cardiac center by 4 days of age. These cases accounted for a significant number of CCHD deaths. This information enhances the rationale for pulse oximetry screening of neonates for CCHD. (Read the full article) Full Article
