A method for operating a window cover utilizes an extendible window cover having a first rail, a second rail and a pair of lift cords. The first and second rails of the window cover are movable relative to each other. According to the method, at least one of the first rail and the second rail is moved in a first direction to cause the lift cords to unwind from the lift cord pulleys, thereby rotating a lift cord pulley shaft and a set of gears. Further, at least one of the first rail and the second rail is moved in a second direction to cause the lift cords to wind on the lift cord pulleys, with the lift cord pulley shaft rotating in an opposite direction.

The listen-before-talk procedure includes sensing for each backoff channel whether a clear channel exists during a backoff period drawn from a contention window (CW). The LBT procedure also includes deferring transmitting on a CC for which the sensing does not indicate that a clear channel exists. The LBT procedure also includes transmitting on a CC for which the sensing indicates a clear channel exists. The method also includes determining a size of the CW based on at least one transmission feedback value.

A shutter-blind system for windows is provided. The system includes a frame and a plurality of rotatable parallel louvers coupled within the frame. A power actuator for a window in a building includes a drive unit, a cable system, and a controller. The drive unit is positioned within a sill of the window. The cable system is engagable with the drive unit for moving a pane of the window relative to a window frame between an opened position and a closed position. A sorbent for CO2 reduction from indoor air from an enclosed space. In some embodiments, the sorbent comprises a solid support and an amine-based compound being supported by the support. The sorbent captures at least a portion of the CO2 within the indoor air. The sorbent may be regenerated by streaming outdoor air through the sorbent to release at least a portion of the captured CO2. The sorbent is structured to allow indoor air to flow therein with relatively low flow resistance and relatively rapid reaction kinetics. Regeneration may be performed at relatively low outdoor air temperatures, thereby minimizing the thermal energy required for regenerating the sorbent.

The MTJ element includes an anti-ferromagnetic material layer. A ferromagnetic pinned layer is over the anti-ferromagnetic material layer. A tunneling layer is over the ferromagnetic pinned layer. Disclosed is an operating-fixed-operating window with a common frame. The window frame includes a sill with a sill lock and sill tower upwardly extending from the sill. The window frame also includes a head disposed atop the window frame, at least one jamb and at least one operating window frame. The window also includes at least one fixed window frame with a sill cover disposed atop the sill, the sill cover engaged with the sill lock and the sill tower.

The window assembly uses a releasable press fit frame connection. The window assembly includes a window pane sandwiched between a pair of frame halves that are press fit together by the engagement of a plurality of corresponding male and female connectors integrally formed into the frame halves. The corresponding male and female connectors are spaced apart around the perimeter of frame halves and hold the window assembly within the window openings cut in the wall or door panels. The window assembly of this invention also includes a release key that allows the frame halves to be taken apart. The release key is manually inserted through thin slots formed in the frame halves to disengage the connection between corresponding male connectors and female connectors.

The present disclosure provides a device that can be used to secure an endotracheal tube. In one embodiment, the device is a one-time use device that has a flexible construction with an adhesive side. The device is configured to be adhered to the endotracheal tube and subsequently secure unto the patient's face. The device is quick and easy to deploy, it reliably secure the endotracheal tube, is comfortable for the patient, and that minimized the chances of infection.

A method and apparatus for controlling a dose of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) radiation generated by a laser produced plasma (LPP) EUV light source. In one embodiment, a running total of the EUV energy generated over a predetermined number of laser pulses is measured; once that number of pulses is exceeded, the energy from the pulse immediately preceding the most recent predetermined number of pulses is dropped from the running total, so that the running total is from the most recent predetermined number of pulses. If the running total of the EUV energy exceeds a target dose, the next pulse is caused to not hit a droplet. This avoids the unwanted side effects of various prior art solutions, such as needing to miss many droplets in a row, or requiring the laser pulses to be shortened or reduced in power as in other prior art solutions.

During the WCBE spring fund drive the staff was so inspired by your responses that we promised to each do five random acts of kindness in your honor. Coming up with ideas wasn’t hard, and putting them into action was even easier. In fact, I realized there were different categories of RAK. Some of the things I did in your name were not-so-random; every week when I do my grocery shopping now, I spend $5-10 on food for the free Little Pantry in my neighborhood, to provide a snack or an extra meal for someone who needs it. Some were practical, like taking cat litter and a dozen cans of prescription food to the folks at Cat Welfare. Some were more… whimsical. I used scraps of old sweaters to make a dozen or so little monsters – then scattered them around the children’s sections of two different libraries. A few of us had the opportunity to visit with a lovely woman who may be WCBE's longest-living listener. Anne Smith has lived in Columbus since 1957, a year after 90.5 began broadcasting. Anne loves to listen to 90.5 with her son Roger and especially enjoys the music. Caitlin Farkas, Maggie Brennan, and Mike Foley visited with Anne during her special birthday celebration this past weekend. We arrived just in time to join her family and friends in singing " Happy Birthday." Can you believe this beautiful woman is 102 years old? Anne's smile and kindness truly inspired us.
