A footwear hanger includes a suspension portion for suspending a pair of shoes having toe separators in as side-by-side relation in an upright position, and a pair of support portions connected to, and in mirror symmetrical relationship with, the suspension portion. A method for successive printing of a first print job and a second print job on the same web using at least one printing group of the rotary press to print the first print job and the second print job is provided. The printing group includes at least a plate cylinder, a plate, a blanket cylinder and a blanket. Between the first print job and the second print job, a plate-changing stage occurs in which the blanket is held away from the web and the plates of the plate cylinder are changed. According to one aspect of the invention, between the first print job and the second print job, the web is kept traveling through the rotary press.

A system for digitally printing directly on a plurality of containers is provided. In an embodiment, the system includes a device configured to determine an initial position or orientation of an individual container; a plurality of print heads configured to print directly on said containers; and a plurality of container holders configured hold or retain an individual container, to rotate the individual container, and to maintain a rotational position of the individual container relative to at least one print head while printing occurs; and one or more curing devices. The system may be configured such that the plurality of container holders are configured to move along a linear or curved path, and the plurality of container holders may be configured to controllably rotate about a container axis.

The invention pertains to a method and apparatus for preparing a printing form from a precursor, particularly a method and apparatus for preparing the printing form by thermally treating a photosensitive precursor having a photopolymerizable layer. The method and apparatus includes heating the photosensitive precursor to a temperature sufficient to cause a portion of the layer to liquefy, contacting the precursor with a development medium to remove the liquefied material, and supporting a development medium with a core member adjacent an exterior surface of the photosensitive precursor, wherein a compressible collar of a closed-cell foam having a Poisson's ratio of less than 0.4 is disposed between the core member and the development medium.

A method for derivation of a temporal motion data (TMD) candidate for a prediction unit (PU) in video encoding or video decoding is provided. The derived TMD candidate is for inclusion in an inter-prediction candidate list for the PU. The method includes determining a primary TMD position relative to a co-located PU in a co-located largest coding unit (LCU), wherein the co-located PU is a block in a reference picture having a same size, shape, and coordinates as the PU, and selecting at least some motion data of a secondary TMD position as the TMD candidate when the primary TMD position is in a bottom neighboring LCU or in a bottom right neighboring LCU of the co-located LCU, wherein the secondary TMD position is determined relative to the co-located PU.

Computer processor hardware receives settings information for a first image. The first image includes a set of multiple display elements. The computer processor hardware receives motion compensation information for a given display element in a second image to be created based at least in part on the first image. The motion compensation information indicates a coordinate location within a particular display element in the first image to which the given display element pertains. The computer processor hardware utilizes the coordinate location as a basis from which to select a grouping of multiple display elements in the first image. The computer processor hardware then generates a setting for the given display element in the second image based on settings of the multiple display elements in the grouping.

An apparatus for motion compensated noise reduction for input images is provided. The motion estimation and motion compensation circuit performs a motion estimation operation and a motion compensation operation on a current image and a previous image to obtain a first patch. The block matching operation circuit performs a block matching operation on the current image and the previous image to obtain a second patch. The motion detection circuit performs a motion detection operation on a target patch according to the first patch and the second patch to output a set of third patches. The current image includes the target patch. The noise reduction circuit performs a noise reduction operation on the set of third patches according to a threshold curve, so as to generate the target patch that the noise is reduced. A method for motion compensated noise reduction for input images is also provided.

The present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for encoding/decoding a motion vector and a method and apparatus for encoding/decoding video using same. The motion vector encoding method includes selecting a predicted motion vector candidate set including one or more predicted motion vector candidates for a block; determining one or more search ranges for predicted motion vector candidate set; selecting one predicted motion vector candidate among one or more predicted motion vector candidates as predicted motion vector for each search point with respect to each search point within search range by first determination criterion prearranged with video decoding apparatus; selecting one predicted motion vector among the predicted motion vectors for each search point by a second determination criterion not prearranged with the video decoding apparatus, and determining predicted motion vector, differential motion vector, and current motion vector; and generating and encoding the differential motion vector as motion information.

A video decoding method using an inter prediction, includes: reconstructing a first differential motion vector and a second differential motion vector of a current block by decoding encoded data; deriving a first predicted motion vector and a second predicted motion vector of the current block from one or more neighboring blocks of the current block; generating a first motion vector of the current block by adding the first candidate motion vector to the first differential motion vector, and a second motion vector of the current block by adding the second candidate motion vector to the second differential motion vector; generating a predicted block of the current block by using the first and second motion vectors; reconstructing a residual block by decoding residual signals included in the encoded data; and adding each pixel value of the predicted block to a corresponding pixel value of the residual block.

A video decoding method using an inter prediction, includes: reconstructing a first differential motion vector and a second differential motion vector of a current block by decoding encoded data; deriving a first predicted motion vector and a second predicted motion vector of the current block from one or more neighboring blocks of the current block; generating a first motion vector of the current block by adding the first candidate motion vector to the first differential motion vector, and a second motion vector of the current block by adding the second candidate motion vector to the second differential motion vector; generating a predicted block of the current block by using the first and second motion vectors; reconstructing a residual block by decoding residual signals included in the encoded data; and adding each pixel value of the predicted block to a corresponding pixel value of the residual block.

A multistage turbomachine is disclosed, comprising a casing with a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet and a plurality of stages arranged in the casing. A flow path extends from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet through the sequentially arranged stages. Each stage is comprised of a rotating impeller and an electric motor embedded in the casing and arranged for rotating the impeller at a controlled rotary speed. Each electric motor comprises a motor rotor, arranged on the impeller and integrally rotating therewith, and a motor stator stationarily arranged in the casing. Pairs of sequentially arranged impellers are configured for rotation in opposite directions.

One aspect provides an air conditioning system that includes a compressor housing, a motor having fan blades rotatably coupled thereto and located within the compressor housing. The motor has a rotation sensor associated with it that is configured to sense a rotation of the fan blades. This embodiment further comprises a controller coupled to the motor and is configured to increase a torque of the motor when the rotation sensor indicates that the fan blades are not rotating after an on command signal is received by the motor.

A piezoelectric driving device includes: a substrate including a fixed portion, and a vibrating body portion which is provided with a piezoelectric element and is supported by the fixed portion; and a contact portion which comes into contact with a driven body, and transmits movement of the vibrating body portion to the driven body, the contact portion is provided at an end portion in the longitudinal direction of the vibrating body portion, and a difference between a distance between the end portion when the contact portion is not pressed against the driven body and a tip end of the contact portion, and a distance between the end portion when the contact portion is pressed against the driven body and the tip end, is smaller than a total amplitude in the longitudinal direction in a case where the vibrating body portion is driven.

A handheld device comprising a motor for generating an airflow through the device, the motor including: a frame for supporting a rotor assembly and a stator assembly, the frame including an inner wall and an outer wall and a plurality of diffuser vanes extending between the inner wall and outer wall; a rotor assembly including a shaft, a magnet, a bearing assembly and an impeller; and a stator assembly including a bobbin, a stator core and a winding wound around the bobbin; the frame being formed of zinc and the impeller being formed of aluminium.

A liquid pump has a housing with a suction connection, a pressure connection and a electric motor for rotationally driving a conveying device that has a suction inlet and pressure outlet which communicate with the suction connection and the pressure connection respectively. An electronic power unit for the electric motor is adjacent to the motor and extends transversely to the axis of rotation and is on the rear side of the partition wall of the housing. The suction inlet is arranged at a height smaller than an inner radius of an annular gap between the stator and rotor, whereas a rotor passage extends at a constant height, so that a liquid inducted by way of the suction connection is guided in part via the annular gap and undergoes a deflection at the partition wall, cooling the latter before it passes through the rotor passage to the suction inlet.

Provided is an electric-assist supercharger configured such that a motor (30) is attached to the end portion of a rotor shaft (15) close to a silencer (26), the rotor shaft (15) being connected to a compressor portion. Such a supercharger includes a suction air introduction path (24) formed in the silencer 26 such that a main suction air flow flows in the radial direction of the silencer (26) toward a connection portion between the silencer (26) and the compressor portion, and a cooling air intake path (40) formed in the silencer (26) in which at least an outlet thereof is on the center axis of the rotor shaft (15).

Systems and methods are used to control operation of a rotary compressor of a refrigeration system to limit or prevent movement of rotors due to axial thrust loading resulting from rapid changes in speed of the rotors of the compressor. The operational profile of the motor is controlled to maintain acceleration torque and deceleration torque within predefined limits. The acceleration torque and deceleration torque are maintained within the predefined limits by controlling the speed of the motor, or by controlling the torque applied by the motor to the rotors during acceleration or deceleration.

A method for controlling a U-shape single phase synchronous permanent magnetic motor having a rotor and a stator and coupled to a single phase alternating current (AC) power source through a switch includes estimating back-electromotive force and the position of the rotor based on a voltage feedback signal, a current feedback signal, and a phase feedback signal indicative of a zero-crossing of the single phase AC power source. Once the speed and position of the rotor are determined, a controller can trigger a switch to supply power to the motor.

A sump pump system having a primary pump, a fluid level sensor, and a primary controller electrically connected to the primary pump for activating the pump when the fluid level sensor indicates a predetermine fluid level has been reached, the primary controller having a primary interface for communicating with a secondary pump. In some forms, the system includes a secondary pump having a secondary controller electrically connected to the secondary pump and having a secondary interface, the primary and secondary interfaces allowing the primary and secondary pump controllers to communicate with one another and allowing at least one of the primary and secondary pump controllers to assume control of both the primary and secondary pump. Related methods are further described herein.

A cabin air compressor assembly includes a cabin air compressor, and a cabin air compressor motor operably connected to the cabin air compressor. The cabin air compressor motor includes a rotor and a stator having a plurality of end windings. A cabin air compressor housing includes at least one cooling airflow hole formed therein. A motor cooling flow is movable across a portion of the cabin air compressor motor to cool the stator and the end windings. A duct extends from the cabin air compressor housing to an adjacent end winding such that a cooling outlet flow provided via the at least one cooling air flow hole is arranged in fluid communication with the end winding.

A submersible pumping system includes an electric motor and a pump driven by the electric motor. The pump includes a rotatable shaft driven by the motor, one or more piston assemblies configured for linear reciprocating motion and a mechanism for converting the rotational movement of the shaft to linear reciprocating movement in the piston assemblies. In one aspect, the mechanism for converting the rotational movement of the shaft includes a tilt disc assembly. In another aspect, the mechanism for converting the rotational movement of the shaft includes a camshaft assembly.

Metering systems and methods are disclosed. A metering system is part of a larger fluidics sub-system that includes a flexible reservoir for storing insulin and a cannula assembly for delivering the insulin into sub-cutaneous tissue. The metering system draws a small dose of fluid from the reservoir and then pushes it down the cannula line and into the patient. The fluid dose is small relative to the reservoir volume, such that many pump strokes are required to completely empty the reservoir.

Rotary cutting apparatus has a frame, a first rotary device and a second rotary device. Each of the first and second rotary devices has a shaft concentrically arranged about a rotational axis and a drum and are arranged in the frame in such a way that said first and second axes are substantially horizontal and substantially in the same vertical plane. A pair of bearing housings is arranged on either side of each of the drums. A first pair of bearing housings is movable relative to the frame in a transverse direction to the first rotational axis by means of a force means. Means is provided for passive vibration attenuation of at least the first shaft that includes a mass damper having a housing and a damping body movably arranged inside the housing, wherein the mass damper is associated with the first pair of bearing housings.

A rotary cutter device includes a rotating body, a plurality of rotary blades, a fixed blade, a feeding portion, and a control portion. The rotating body is configured to be rotatable around a central axis. The plurality of rotary blades are provided on the rotating body. The fixed blade is provided facing a trajectory that cutting edges of the plurality of rotary blades describe when the plurality of rotary blades rotate. The feeding portion is configured to feed a sheet-shaped object along a linear feed path that passes close to the fixed blade. The control portion is configured to rotate the plurality of rotary blades around the central axis toward the fixed blade from the opposite side of the feed path from the fixed blade.

A simple and compact rotary cutter unit capable of detecting a home position of a rotary cutter, and a printer device having the rotary cutter unit. A radially outwardly extending fin-shaped detected member is arranged on an end portion of the rotating blade opposed to a second gear of the rotating blade. A photosensor is arranged within a main frame of the printer device so that the photosensor may detect the fin-shaped member when the rotating blade is positioned at the home position. The fin-shaped member and the photosensor are not positioned outside relative to both ends of the rotating blade in relation to the direction of the rotational axis of the rotating blade. Therefore, it is not necessary to increase the width of the printer device due to the presence of the fin-shaped member or the photosensor, whereby the printer device may be compactly constituted.

An apparatus having a sample sectioning device including a cutting mechanism that is operable to cut sections from a sample and a sample holder that is operable to hold the sample. The apparatus further includes a drive system coupled with the sample holder to drive movement of the sample holder and a reciprocating member coupled to the drive system to drive vertical movement of the drive system. The reciprocating member to move in a reciprocating manner within an angle of rotation of less than 180 degrees. A surface orientation sensor may further be provided that is operable to sense an orientation of a surface of the sample held by the sample holder.

The main oblique grooves on each side of the tire equator extend beyond the tire equator to have axially inner ends located on the other side of the tire equator. Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for placing a device in a bootloader state. One of the methods includes determining, during a boot process of the apparatus, whether a device of a particular type is connected to the apparatus, in response to determining that a device of the particular type is connected to the apparatus, determining a device identifier for the device, comparing the device identifier for the device with a predetermined identifier that indicates a device to which the apparatus should provide control of the boot process to determine whether the device identifier is the same as the predetermined identifier, and in response to determining that the device identifier is the same as the predetermined identifier, maintaining the apparatus in a bootloader state to provide control of the boot process of the apparatus to the device.

The disclosed computer-implemented method may include (1) providing a framework that includes (A) a user-space component that runs at a client site and (B) a kernel-space component that runs at a remote site, (2) identifying attributes of objects that reside at the remote site and whose addresses are unknown at the client site, (3) generating a script to test a function of a kernel running on the remote site based at least in part on the attributes, and (4) performing a remote unit testing of the function of the kernel by executing the script such that the user-space component (A) generates a message that identifies the attributes and (B) sends the message to the kernel-space component to facilitate (I) obtaining references to the objects by way of the attributes and (II) invoking the function by way of the references. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

A user (e.g., an author of a document) uploads a document into a real-time annotation system, which may then generate a composite presentation based on the uploaded document. The composite presentation includes all the content of the document presented in a specially configured graphical user interface to receive and manage annotations from a plurality of user devices.

In a computing environment having a multiple input detection system including a detector that detects and transmits multiple simultaneous user inputs from different users at a same time, a method for processing inputs from different users across multiple application windows of one or more applications displayed on a single display of a user interface, resulting in a multi-user graphical user interface (GUI), the computing environment running an operating system (OS) designed to run with a single user GUI, the method including determining, in a primary application, separate from the OS, that a first user input corresponds to a first window and a second user input corresponds to a second window, the primary application sending the first and second user inputs to first and second secondary applications that run in parallel with the primary application, the first and second secondary applications being designed to run with the OS.

A protective riser guide for scissors is provided in the present disclosure. In certain embodiments, the protective riser guide is integrally formed with an arm of a pair of scissors. In other embodiments, the protective riser guide is removably attached to the exterior surface of a scissor arm. Preferably, the protective riser guide is in the shape of an arc extending away from the interior surface of the arm if the guide is integrally formed with the arm, or from the exterior surface if the guide is removably attached to the exterior surface. Due to the shape and position of the protective riser guide on the arm of a pair of scissors in certain embodiments, the protective riser guide is ergonomic and increases the safety of the operator of the scissors without interfering with the operator's cutting techniques.

A rotary electric shaver generally includes a handle assembly including a housing, a motor disposed in the housing, a plurality of drive shafts operatively connected to the motor and extending at least in part exterior of the housing, and a head assembly mount separate from the plurality of drive shafts, wherein the head assembly mount has a longitudinal axis. A shaver head assembly is positionable on the handle assembly, and the shaver head assembly has a circumference and includes a plurality of inner cutters each operatively connectable to a respective one of the drive shafts for conjoint rotation therewith, and a plurality of outer cutters each corresponding to a respective one of the inner cutters. A tooth for a blade of a hair cutting apparatus includes a root secured to a base of the blade, a tip opposite the root, and a longitudinal axis of the tooth defined between the root and the tip. A lower, planar cutting surface is provided on the tooth, as is an upper surface opposite the lower surface, and sidewalls separating the upper surface from the lower surface. At least a portion of the upper surface and the sidewalls is elliptical in the direction of the longitudinal axis, beginning at the tip.

A razor comprises a first component comprising a first indicia on a surface of the first component. The razor also comprises a second component configured to rotate relative to the first component about a first axis of rotation, the second component comprising at least one blade and a second indicia on a surface of the second component, the second component configured to rotate relative to the first component about a second axis of rotation, wherein the second axis of rotation and the first axis of rotation are non-coplanar. A hair clipper has a base structural housing with a blade set operably secured thereto. The blade set has a stationary blade and a reciprocating blade. The base has at least one support for a rotary motor. A flexible motor vibration and noise damper fits over half of the motor, and a motor cover is secured to the base structural housing over the vibration damper. A secondary housing cover is secured to the base structural housing over the motor cover.

One embodiment (100) collects air pressure created from forward motion of a motorcycle (300) in a reservoir assembly (1001) which stores a liquid lubricant, is attached to motorcycle frame (302), and comprises a containment chamber (102), cap (106), cap seal (104), air inlet port (107), lubricant outlet port (109), and an air inlet connector (108) and a lubricant outlet connector (110) to facilitate the external attachment of conduit. The air pressure is collected by and delivered to reservoir assembly (100-1) via an air collection conduit (118) attached to motorcycle front portion (306) by a mount (130) and urges liquid lubricant through a suction conduit (124), flow restrictor (112) and delivers lubricant via discharge conduit (114) to a chain applicator (116) attached to a motorcycle swing arm assembly (304) and to the inner circumference of drive chain (310). Lubricant flow ceases after motorcycle is stopped. Other embodiments are described and shown.

A turbocharger for an internal combustion engine includes a bearing housing with a bearing bore and a thrust wall. The bearing housing includes a journal bearing disposed within the bore. The turbocharger also includes a shaft supported by the journal bearing for rotation about an axis within the bore. The turbocharger also includes a turbine wheel fixed to the shaft and configured to be rotated about the axis by the engine's post-combustion gasses. The turbocharger additionally includes a compressor wheel fixed to the shaft and configured to pressurize an ambient airflow. Furthermore, the turbocharger includes a thrust bearing assembly pressed onto the shaft and configured to transmit thrust forces developed by the turbine wheel to the thrust wall. Pressing the thrust bearing assembly onto the shaft minimizes radial motion between the thrust bearing assembly and the shaft. An internal combustion engine employing such a turbocharger is also disclosed.

A compressor lubrication system including a positive displacement pump, a pressure relief valve assembly, and a divider block. The pressure relief valve assembly includes a housing that has an opening to the fluid distribution system and a relief passage. A conduit is connected from the relief passage to a fluid reservoir. The assembly also includes a pressure relief valve that has an open position in which fluid from the fluid distribution system can enter the relief passage, and a closed position in which fluid is prevented from entering the relief passage. A biasing element maintains a biasing force on the pressure relief valve. The pressure relief valve is maintained in the closed position when the biasing force exceeds the fluid force on the pressure relief valve and the pressure relief valve moves into the open position when the fluid force exceeds the biasing force.

The device is configured for moving a fluid within a gearbox. In one illustrative embodiment, the device includes a base portion coupled to a rotatable member within the gearbox. An inlet portion of the device is configured to draw the fluid from a reservoir portion of the gearbox. The device is configured to utilize a centrifugal force for moving the fluid from the inlet portion toward the base portion along an interior surface of a conical portion. In another illustrative embodiment, the device includes a conical portion having an external threaded portion configured to capture a fluid during a rotation of the device. In such an embodiment, the threaded portion is configured to utilize a centrifugal force for moving the fluid captured by the threaded portion along an exterior surface of the conical portion.
