"After liaising with the relevant stakeholders and receiving feedback from them, we have no doubt that the decision taken will provide the best possible conditions for all participants at the championships," said FINA president Julio Maglione. "At a time of unprecedented uncertainty, FINA hopes the announcement of these dates will allow for some clarity in planning for all concerned." The world aquatics championships also feature diving, open water swimming, synchronised swimming and water polo.

महज दो महीने के भीतर ही चीन से निकलकर कोरोनावायरस पूरी दुनिया में फैल गया। 1.5 लाख लोगों की जान ले चुके कोरोनावायरस के डर से दुनिया की आधी से ज्यादा आबादी घर पर रहने को मजबूर है। अमेरिका जैसे ताकतवर देश भी इसके आगे बेबस हैं। लेकिन, बड़ा सवाल अब भी है कि ये महामारी खत्म कैसे होगी?

कुछ दिन पहले अमेरिका के कोरोनावायरस टास्क फोर्स के डॉ. एंथनी फाउची ने कहा था कि इस बात की पूरी संभावना है कि कोरोना सीजनल फ्लू या मौसमी बीमारी बन जाए। अब ऐसी ही बात साइंस मैगजीनमें छपी हार्वर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी की रिसर्च में भी सामने आई है। इस रिसर्च में कहा गया है, जब तक कोरोनावायरस का कोई असरदार इलाज या वैक्सीन नहीं मिल जाता, तब तक इस महामारी को खत्म करना नामुमकिन है। इसके मुताबिक, बिना वैक्सीन या असरदार इलाज के कोरोना सीजनल फ्लू बन सकता है और 2025 तक हर साल इसका संक्रमण फैलने की संभावना है।

कोरोना क्यों सीजनल फ्लू बन सकता है?
सबसे पहले तो ये कि इस बीमारी का नाम कोविड-19 है, जो सार्स कोव-2 नाम के कोरोनावायरस से फैलती है। कोरोनावायरस फैमिली में ही सार्स और मर्स जैसे वायरस भी होते हैं। सार्स 2002-03 और मर्स 2015 में फैल चुका है। इसी फैमिली में दो ह्यूमन वायरस भी होते हैं। पहला: HCoV-OC43 और दूसरा : HCoV-HKU1।

सार्स और मर्स जैसी महामारियों से जल्द ही छुटकारा मिल गया था। जबकि, HCoV वायरस हर साल सर्दियों के मौसम में इंसानों को संक्रमित करता है। इसी वायरस की वजह से सर्दी के मौसम में सर्दी-जुकाम होता है।

दरअसल, किसी भी बीमारी से लड़ने में इम्यून सिस्टम मददगार होता है। किसी इंसान का इम्यून सिस्टम जितना स्ट्रॉन्ग होगा, वह किसी बीमारी से उतनी ही मजबूती से लड़ सकेगा। इसलिए जब हम बीमार होते हैं, तो हमारा शरीर उस बीमारी से लड़ने की इम्युनिटी बना लेता है और हम ठीक हो जाते हैं।

अब दोबारा HCoV पर आते हैं। हर साल इंसानों को सर्दी के मौसम सर्दी-जुकाम होता है। इसका मतलब हुआ कि, इस वायरस से लड़ने के लिए इंसानों में इम्युनिटी शॉर्ट-टर्म के लिए ही डेवलप होती है। यही वजह है हर साल हमें सर्दी-जुकाम हो जाता है।

इसी तरह से अगर सार्स कोव-2 से लड़ने की इम्युनिटी भी शॉर्ट-टर्म के लिए रही तो ये वायरस हमारे जीवन का हिस्सा बन सकता है और हर साल लौट सकता है। यानी, कोरोनावायरस या कोविड-19 के सीजनल फ्लू बनने की संभावना भी है।

2025 तक भी रह सकती ये बीमारी
हार्वर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी की स्टडी में पाया गया है कि अगर कोविड-19 को लेकर इम्युनिटी बन भी गई, तो भी इस बीमारी को पूरी तरह से खत्म होने में 2025 तक का समय लगेगा। हालांकि, इस बात की संभावना भी कम है क्योंकि, अकेले दक्षिण कोरिया में 111 लोग जो कोरोना से ठीक हो गए थे, वे दोबारा संक्रमित हुए हैं।

कोरोना से निपटने के लिए ज्यादातर देशों में लॉकडाउन है और सोशल डिस्टेंसिंग जैसे तरीक अपना रहे हैं। लेकिन, वैज्ञानिकों का कहना है कि लॉकडाउन से भी कोरोना के संक्रमण को खत्म नहीं किया जा सकता है। उनके मुताबिक, लॉकडाउन लगाकर कोविड-19 के फैलने की रफ्तार को कुछ दिन के लिए कम कर सकते हैं या रोक सकते हैं, लेकिन जैसे ही लॉकडाउन खुलेगा, दोबारा इसका संक्रमण फैल सकता है। इसीलिए, जब तक कोविड-19 का कोई असरदार इलाज या वैक्सीन नहीं आ जाता, तब तक इससे बचने का एकमात्र तरीका है- सोशल डिस्टेंसिंग।

हार्वर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी में डिपार्टमेंट ऑफ इम्यूनोलॉजी एंड इन्फेक्शियस के रिसर्चर और इस स्टडी के लीड ऑथर स्टीफन किसलेर का मानना है कि कोविड-19 से बचने के लिए हमें कम से कम 2022 तक सोशल डिस्टेंसिंग बनानी होगी।

टोटल लॉकडाउन नहीं, लेकिन डेढ़ साल तक कुछ प्रतिबंध जारी रखने होंगे
अमेरिका की स्टैनफोर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी की शोधकर्ता एरिन मोर्डेकाई कहती हैं कि, 1918 में जब स्पैनिश फ्लू फैला था, तब अमेरिका के कुछ शहरों ने 3 से 8 सप्ताह तक लगी पाबंदी को अचानक हटा दिया था। इसका नतीजा ये हुआ था कि ये फ्लू कम समय में ही ज्यादा जगहों में फैल गया। स्पैनिश फ्लू से 50 करोड़ से ज्यादा लोग संक्रमित हुए थे, जबकि 5 करोड़ लोगों की मौत हुई थी।

एरिन आगे कहती हैं किकोरोना के डर से हमें साल-डेढ़ साल के लिए पूरी तरह से लॉकडाउन रखने की जरूरत नहीं है,लेकिन12 से 18 महीनों तक हमें कुछ प्रतिबंध जारी रखने होंगे।
