ef Low-power dual-edge-triggered storage cell with scan test support and clock gating circuit therefore By www.freepatentsonline.com Published On :: Tue, 26 May 2015 08:00:00 EDT A storage cell having a pulse generator and a storage element is proposed. The storage element input is connected to receive a data input signal. The storage element output is connected to provide a data output signal. The storage element is operable in one of a data retention state and a data transfer state in response to a storage control signal received from the pulse generator. The pulse generator is connected to receive a clock signal with rising and falling clock signal edges and is adapted to provide control pulses in the storage control signal. Each control pulse has a leading edge and a trailing edge. The control pulses have a polarity suited to invoke the data transfer state on their leading edges. ef Spring whip defensive mechanism having means to permit disassembly thereof By www.freepatentsonline.com Published On :: Tue, 18 Aug 1987 08:00:00 EDT A knock down spring whip assembly including a hollow housing which serves as a handgrip, and also stores a spring subassembly formed of lengths of helically wound springs of sequentially increasingly larger diameter size to move between a telescoped position within the housing and an extended whipping position projecting from one end of the housing with the springs wedgingly engaging each other in an end to end arrangement. A removable closure unit is provided for plugging the other end of the housing to define a storage compartment. The closure unit includes an integral magnet for retaining the spring subassembly in the telescoped position, where the closure unit can be replaced with other types of closure units. The housing includes a tapered end and an annular constriction for providing both a wedging engagement of the projecting springs as well as a positive locking action. Weighted ball bearings can be included within one of the springs for spiral rotation therethrough to provide an additional striking force. The striking spring can be replaced by a solid rod for an increased striking force. Preferably, the tip portion at the striking end is also removable to permit the spring whip assembly to be disassembled into its component parts. Full Article

ef Self-defense whip By www.freepatentsonline.com Published On :: Tue, 18 Jul 2000 08:00:00 EDT A self-defense whip having an elongated hollow tube within which is telescopically received a flexible lash, preferably formed of flexible control cable. The tube has a constriction proximate one end and the lash has an anchor at one end which is axially movable in the tube but which will not pass through the constriction. The lash has a weighted tip at its other end which pulls the lash into extended whipping position and accelerates the tip into an arc leading the lash. When the lash is formed of flexible control cable, the whip makes an intimidating, whistling noise as it cuts through the air. Full Article
ef Personal defense device By www.freepatentsonline.com Published On :: Tue, 04 Nov 2003 08:00:00 EST A personal defense device includes an electrical stun circuit and electrodes with a structure adapted for use as an impact weapon as well, and further includes a radially disposed flashlight or signal light therewith. The electrical circuitry for the stun apparatus is formed of flexible circuit material with dual circuit paths between each component, for reliability and resistance to damage due to impact forces incurred when the device is used as an impact weapon. A second, normally closed interrupter switch is provided for the stun circuit, with the user of the present device being required to hold the interrupter switch in order to keep the stun circuitry from operating when the master switch is turned on. The end opposite the handle includes a series of impact ribs with cutting blades removably installable thereon, to produce shallow (non-life threatening) cuts in an assailant during an attack.
