idea Vidyut Jammwal on lockdown: Now is a great time to listen to our own ideas By www.mid-day.com Published On :: 21 Apr 2020 03:48:26 GMT Action hero and fitness enthusiast Vidyut Jammwal feels that the time in lockdown should be taken as an "inner pilgrimage" and one should utilise this period to listen to the ideas from within. "I always time spend with my near and dear ones. I spend enough time with them and I am happy spending time now also. I've never had shortage of time because time can be managed. But it's a great time because the whole world is in lockdown it's an inner pilgrimage we can go into. We have only been talking to people and listening to them, but now is the time to listen to our ideas," Vidyut told IANS. Vidyut is currently inspiring fans and followers with his live online fitness sessions. He says he wants everyone to understand the basics. "Me blowing the candles with my hands or feet or doing the bottle cap challenge or break a brick with an egg with my hand -- that needs a lot of training. You need to get your basics right... That's the whole idea behind this programme and age is not a criteria... Every part of your body needs to be worked out, said the actor, who has been doing martial art form Kalaripayattu since the age of three. He added: "In Kalaripayattu there are six systems a person needs to master cardiovascular system, respiratory systems, digestive system, visceral system, skeletal system and the neuromuscular system. If you know all of them then you are a master and to know all of them you need to study them." The actor has a great fan following on social media. Fans follow his workout very diligently. Vidyut enjoys a following of 3.6 million on Instagram and 184.1K on Twitter. What prompted him to start his live online fitness sessions? "Every time I was working or something I would get a message from them saying that 'please share your workout or diet tips' I have to genuinely spend time doing that so the way I workout, which is different from other people like go to the gym for two hours... So, I started doing one part of my workout for these guys and it just caught fire and I am happy I did. Whatever I do I share one part of my training with them," he said. idea Rakul Preet Singh: Mom and Dad were more comfortable with the idea of me wearing a bikini than I was By www.mid-day.com Published On :: 8 May 2020 02:06:00 GMT It has been a long yet fulfilling journey for Rakul Preet Singh, who has dabbled with both the South and the Hindi film industry successfully. After the success of De De Pyaar De and Marjaavaan in 2019, she now has a film with Arjun Kapoor coming up that's supposedly a cross-border rom-com, produced by John Abraham and Nikkhil Advani. Now let's talk about her Instagram posts, which are also very gorgeous. She has often channelled her bold avatar on social media and now, recently in an interview with Pinkvilla, spoke about her journey as an actor, and also the beautiful days of Miss India. When asked about wearing a bikini and her parents' reaction to it, she answered very candidly and her reply will truly win your heart. She said, "My mom and my dad were more comfortable than I was with the idea of wearing a bikini. In fact, when we were going to shop for the bikinis, my dad kept telling us to buy vibrant coloured bikinis and not the dull ones." And did you know Rakul's mother was the one who asked her to wear a bikini when she was preparing for her Miss India contest? Rini Singh, her mother, who was also a part of the interview, spilled the beans and said, "I kept telling her that you need to wear a bikini for Miss India. She said she was not prepared for that. But I was confident. I said, 'You'll prepare for it, isme kya hai?' Well, this is truly a candid confession from the mother-daughter duo! idea Ravi Shastri and other BCCI coaches exchange ideas online By www.mid-day.com Published On :: 1 May 2020 01:36:11 GMT India head coach Ravi Shastri and his counterparts with the A and junior teams discussed future plans for their respective sides in an online interaction, making use of their time at home amid a national lockdown. National Cricket Academy (NCA) head Rahul Dravid was the man behind the initiative and senior team support staff comprising Shastri, bowling Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar were a part of this interaction last week. "It wasn't an online coaching class. You can say it was an interaction where you give ideas and listen to the mindset and plans of other coaches. There has only been one such session but it is likely to be a regular affair," an NCA official told PTI. The online session was also attended by junior and NCA coaches including Paras Mhambrey, Narendra Hirwani, Abhay Sharma and Sitanshu Kotak. "If senior coaches like Shastri, Arun and Sridhar are also part of the interaction, you are bound to learn something from their rich international experience," the official said. "At the moment, it is a lockdown so it was easier to organise this. It remains to be seen how often it can be done when things are normal and the Indian team is on duty," the official added. The aim was to bring in more synergy in the work of national teams (senior, India A and under-19). All global sporting activity has come to a standstill due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There is no clarity when the Indian team will take the field next, having played last in New Zealand in the first week of March. Catch up on all the latest sports news and updates here.
