A new study shows that graphene sheets can block the signals mosquitoes use to identify a blood meal, potentially enabling a new chemical-free approach to mosquito bite prevention. Researchers showed that multilayer graphene can provide a twofold defense against mosquito bites. The ultra-thin yet strong material acts as a barrier that mosquitoes are unable to bite through. At the same time, experiments showed that graphene also blocks chemical signals mosquitoes use to sense that a blood meal is near, blunting their urge to bite in the first place. The findings suggest that clothing with a graphene lining could be an effective mosquito barrier.

The invention refers to an ironing aid and a device for safekeeping of ironing aids for smoothing closed tubular items of clothing. The object was to propose a solution in the application of which a wire frame shaped ironing aid is an integral part of the aid for thermal smoothing of items of clothing and better handling is ensured. The invention relates to a saw-tooth clothing for rollers of a carding machine or a carder. The saw-tooth clothing has a multiplicity of successively arranged teeth, wherein each tooth has a tooth front and a tooth back and a tooth tip. The tooth backs of the teeth have in each case a certain distance from the tooth front of the in each case following tooth and form a tooth space which extends from a tooth root to the tooth tips. A device attaches a flexible clothing in the form of a clothing strip to a card flat bar of a revolving card flat. The transverse direction (6) corresponds to a working direction (A) of the clothing (2). The clothing carrier (3) exhibits a maximum tensile force (FL) in the longitudinal direction (6) which is greater than a maximum tensile force (FQ) in the transverse direction (7).
