President Obama officially began his second term of office on January 20th. In his inaugural address to the nation the following day, his focus was on the strengths and promises of America. As 2013 begins the national debate on gun control is in high gear. Advocates from all sides have descended on Washington, DC to sway a divided Congress to their side. But the action isn't limited to the halls of Congress; the persistent issue of gun control is also being debated in local communities across the country. And for communities historically battered by gun violence, the conversation takes on an increased intensity.

A sunny Saturday is on tap for our first November weekend. The sunshine will eventually give way to clouds, and the forecast shows several chances for rain ahead.

Temperatures will trend upwards for Sunday evening into early Monday morning. A cold front moving eastward from the Dakotas will bring a chance of rain showers on Monday. Look for above-average temperatures this week with highs in the lower to mid-50s.

A welcome soaking for parts of Minnesota.

A low-pressure system brings another soaking to much of Minnesota on Election Day.

A milder and direr weather pattern sets up by Thursday across Minnesota.

A sunnier weather pattern returns Thursday and Friday.

Rain chances will increase Saturday night into Sunday morning, on the backside of a low pressure system as it moves towards the Great Lakes region. Precipitation amounts of between a tenth and a quarter of an inch are possible.

Chilly high pressure has settled in behind the weekend system. High temperatures will be cooler Monday and Tuesday, but near normal. The next chance of rain develops Wednesday.
