In a method of making a tubular body, material is pressed through a die of a forming tool into a first mold cavity disposed in downstream relationship to the die to produce a first end piece. A mandrel is then moved in a direction of the die to thereby displace the mold cavity in the same direction and to extrude a tubular center piece to adjoin the first end piece. The mandrel is then replaced by a mold having a second mold cavity to mold a second end piece to adjoin the center piece.

In some embodiments, an interior-flow substrate includes a porous surface and one or more interior passages that provide reactant gas to an interior portion of a densely packed nanotube forest as it is growing. In some embodiments, a continuous-growth furnace is provided that includes an access port for removing nanotube forests without cooling the furnace substantially. In other embodiments, a nanotube film can be pulled from the nanotube forest without removing the forest from the furnace. A nanotube film loom is described. An apparatus for building layers of nanotube films on a continuous web is described.

The invention relates to a method and a device for removing and drawing a synthetic thread to form a fully drawn yarn. The thread is formed by joining a plurality of extruded filaments and is guided by contact on the circumference of heated guide jackets of several driven galette pairs. In order to obtain a gentle and highly homogenized treatment of the filaments, the thread is guided in an S-shaped or Z-shaped thread course by a first galette pair having two guide jackets driven in opposite directions during the removal from a spinning zone and before the drawing. Thus, both sides of the thread can be brought directly into circumferential contact with the guide jackets for in order to heat the thread.

The invention relates to a method of operation for an air jet spinning machine, which is characterized in that the spinning process is interrupted when a yarn fault is detected, and subsequent to the interruption of the spinning process, a piecing process is initiated which is at least partly carried out by the spinning station and in which a number of yarn process and handling devices directly assigned to the spinning station are applied. A method of thermally processing a tobacco material is provided, the method including the steps of (i) mixing a tobacco material, water, and an additive selected from the group consisting of lysine, glycine, histidine, alanine, methionine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, proline, phenylalanine, valine, arginine, di- and trivalent cations, asparaginase, saccharides, phenolic compounds, reducing agents, compounds having a free thiol group, oxidizing agents, oxidation catalysts, plant extracts, and combinations thereof, to form a moist tobacco mixture; (ii) heating the moist tobacco mixture at a temperature of at least about 60° C. to form a heat-treated tobacco mixture; and (iii) incorporating the heat-treated tobacco mixture into a tobacco product. Heat-treated tobacco composition prepared according to the method are also provided, such as heat-treated smokeless tobacco composition comprising a tobacco material, water, flavorant, binder, and filler, the heat-treated smokeless tobacco composition having an acrylamide content of less than about 2000 ppb.

The invention relates to a biodegradable plastic having increased biodegradation speed. Said plastic comprises a) finely distributed particle of a biodegradable, water-soluble, organic component, and b) finely distributed particles of a water-soluble, inorganic component promoting the growth of microorganisms and comprising N, P, and/or S. Said plastic is particularly based on cellulose esters such as cellulose acetate. Preferable components A are water-soluble saccharides and/or water-soluble organic acids. Said particularly advantageous biodegradable plastic is particularly available in the form of fibers, films, injection molded items, granulate beads, and containers. Controlled-release biocides and/or fertilizers can also be included in the molded part, wherein the molded part is degraded faster in the environment as said ingredients are released. The accelerated biodegradation is based on a synergistic interaction of the components indicated.

A tip charging electronic cigarette includes a cigarette body including a shell and a mouthpiece, the shell having a forward portion terminating in a tip. A display device and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The display device includes a first driver integrated circuit configured to drive a first pixel array, a second driver integrated circuit configured to drive a second pixel array, a power module integrated circuit configured to receive an enable signal and output a driving voltage, and an AND gate configured to receive an output of the first driver integrated circuit and an output of the second driver integrated circuit and output the enable signal. The driving voltage output from the power module integrated circuit is commonly supplied to the first and second driver integrated circuits.

A luminance controller according to example embodiments includes a gamma set selector to select a reference gamma set from among first through N-th gamma sets respectively corresponding to first through N-th reference luminances, based on a target luminance of a display panel; an initialization voltage selector to select an initialization voltage corresponding to the reference gamma set, from among first through N-th initialization voltage offsets respectively corresponding to the first through N-th gamma sets; a common voltage selector to select a common voltage corresponding to the reference gamma set from among first through N-th common voltage offsets respectively corresponding to the first through N-th gamma sets; and a determiner to determine a target initialization voltage based on the target luminance and the initialization voltage, and to determine a target common voltage based on the target luminance and the common voltage.

A gate driver includes clock signal lines respectively transferring clock signals, at least two of the clock signals being mutually the same; and gate driving units electrically connected to the clock signal lines, respectively and configured to sequentially generate gate signals having a multi-clock pulse based on the clock signals.

A scan driver includes a plurality of scan driving blocks. The present invention discloses an organic light-emitting diode display device and a driving method thereof. The device includes: a plurality of pixels, including a plurality of organic light-emitting diodes and a plurality of drive transistors for supplying drive currents to the organic light-emitting diodes; a data driver, configured to transmit corresponding data signals to the plurality of pixels via a plurality of data lines; and a pre-charge circuit, configured to pre-charge voltage signals reserved in a previous time sequence to an initial voltage, the initial voltage being less than or equal to a minimum voltage of the data signals, wherein before the data driver transmits the corresponding data signals to the plurality of pixels, the pre-charge circuit acts to pre-charge the voltage signals reserved in the previous time sequence by the plurality of pixels to be less than or equal to the minimum voltage of the data signals.

A liquid crystal panel and the driving method thereof are disclosed. The liquid crystal panel includes at least one storage electrode, a plurality of scanning lines, a plurality of data lines, and a plurality of pixel areas. Each of the pixel areas includes a pixel electrode, a first TFT and a second TFT. The first TFT drives the corresponding pixel electrode. The gate of the second TFT connects with the previous scanning line, and one of the source and the drain of the second TFT connects to the corresponding pixel electrode within the pixel area, and the other one connects with the storage electrode. In this way, the optimal common voltage is applied to the liquid crystal panel when the liquid crystal panel is in a displaying process, and thus the display performance is guaranteed.

According to one embodiment, each pixel of a liquid crystal display device includes: a switch configured to sample subframe data; a storage unit configured to hold the subframe data sampled by the switch, the storage unit and the switch constituting an SRAM cell; and a conductive switch disposed between a liquid crystal display element and an adjacent pixel. A range of a source voltage of NMOS and PMOS transistors constituting each inverter constituting the storage unit of one pixel is configured to be able to be set separately from a range of a source voltage of NMOS and PMOS transistors constituting each inverter constituting the storage unit of another pixel.

“CONVEYOR SYSTEM WITH DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS AND ISOLATION OF THE CONVEYED PRODUCT IN RELATION TO THE DRIVE SYSTEM”, is a conveyor for grains, seeds, fruit, granulated and ground products and similar products. The conveyor has different applications and isolates the product conveyed from the drive system. There are two or more tubes, and in each set of tubes there is a swivel with a drive system using roller chain, chain, cable, belt, et cetera. The invention relates to a unit for simulating the pressure and temperature conditions of an air flow drawn in by a reciprocating internal combustion engine (1) at a height above sea level, corresponding to the operating height of said reciprocating internal combustion engine (1). According to the invention, the unit comprises at least: (a) a radial inward-flow turbine (2) for expanding an air flow towards the pressure and temperature of the air drawn in by the reciprocating internal combustion engine; (b) a first container (4) and (c) a second container (5) connected to the first container (4) by means of at least a connection pipe (7) in order to balance the pressure between the two containers; (d) a centrifugal compressor (3); and (e) a vacuum pump (6) for maintaining a pressure equal to the pressure of the air flow drawn in by the reciprocating internal combustion engine (1). The invention also relates to the use of said unit for simulating the pressure and temperature conditions of the air drawn in by a reciprocating internal combustion engine.

An air intake manifold for an engine includes an air inlet to receive a flow of compressed charge air, and multiple runners to deliver cooled compressed charge air to corresponding combustion cylinders of the engine. A charge air cooler is arranged within the intake manifold between the air inlet and the runners, and includes a first core section and a second core section. The first and second core sections are arranged fluidly in parallel with respect to the flow of compressed charge air, so that the charge air is divided into a first portion that is substantially directed through the first core section to a first subset of the runners, and a second portion that is substantially directed through the second core section to a second subset of the runners.

A charge air cooler includes a housing and a heat exchanger core positioned within the housing. The heat exchanger core includes a first core section, a second core section, and a centrally located section positioned between the first core section and the second core section. The charge air cooler also includes a plurality of coolant circuits. Each coolant circuit extends through at least one of the first and second core sections. The charge air cooler further includes a coolant inlet extending from the centrally located section to deliver coolant to the plurality of coolant circuits, and a coolant outlet extending from the centrally located section to receive coolant from the plurality of coolant circuits.
