Legendary actor Suchitra Sen is in a serious condition after she was admitted to a private hospital here following a respiratory tract infection, doctors said Sunday.

The condition of 82-year-old Suchitra Sen, who was admitted to a super specialty hospital here after complaining of respiratory tract infection, is stable now, doctors attending on the veteran actress said.

Ailing actress Suchitra Sen, who has remained a recluse for the past three decades and is currently undergoing treatment at a Kolkata hospital, made an exception for West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday and met her.
