Jaeden Martell & Rachel Zegler in Y2K Bug Comedy 'Y2K' Trailer #2

"Think they'll still do graduation?" A24 has revealed a second trailer for Y2K, a 1999 party comedy marking the feature directorial debut of comedian Kyle Mooney. Set to debug theaters starting in early December just before New Years coming up. It first premiered at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival to good reviews along with some negative ones, too. Two high school nobodies make the decision to crash the last major celebration before the new millennium on New Year's Eve 1999. The night gets even crazier than they could have ever dreamed when the clock strikes midnight. The hilarious NYE horror comedy stars Rachel Zegler, Jaeden Martell, Julian Dennison, and Alicia Silverstone, also featuring The Kid Laroi, Tim Heidecker, and Fred Durst. Still reminds me a bit of Bodies Bodies Bodies, though it also seems like it's inspired by the antics of This is The End. This looks totally wild and crazy and exactly my kind of ridiculous 90s humor! Tons of fun especially with all tech turning into literal monsters coming after them. Can't wait to watch this. Here's the second official trailer for Kyle Mooney's film Y2K, direct from A24's YouTube: You can rewatch the first trailer for Kyle […]

Dear Isaac Newton, you're ruining my life / Rachel Hruza.

As if seventh grade isn't hard enough, Truth Trendon learns she has to wear a back brace to help her worsening scoliosis. She decides gravity is to blame for curving her spine and ruining her life. Thanks for nothing, Isaac Newton! Truth's brace is hard plastic, tight, and uncomfortable. She has to wear a t-shirt under it and bulky clothes over it, making her feel both sweaty and unfashionable. She's terrified that her classmates are going to find out about it. But it's hard keeping it a secret (especially when gym class is involved), and secrets quickly turn into lies. When Truth's crush entrusts her with a big secret of his own, it leads to even more lying. Add to that a fight with her best friend, a looming school-wide presentation, and mean rumors, and it's a recipe for disaster. As Truth navigates the ups and downs of middle school, can she learn to accept her true self, curvy spine and all?

Real Leaders: Rachel Carson Seeds the Environmental Movement

In 1958, writer Rachel Carson began her exhaustive research on the effects of widespread pesticide use for her next book, Silent Spring. Over the next four years, she built up an airtight case showing how the world’s most powerful chemical companies were harming animals, plants, and people. Her effort was also a race against time, as she struggled against an aggressive form of breast cancer. In the second episode of a four-part special series on leadership, HBR Editor in Chief Adi Ignatius and Harvard Business School professor and historian Nancy Koehn trace the modern environmental movement back to Carson’s pioneering reporting and powerful prose. They discover lessons in how to strengthen your resilience, gather your energy and skills for a coming challenge, and why caretaking is an act of leadership.
