DStv and Showmax operator MultiChoice reported it shed over a tenth of its pay-TV subscriber base in its six months to end September, when its loss also doubled after it was battered by currency headwinds as well as its spend on streaming.

DStv has come under fire from subscribers demanding a decrease in their monthly instalments due to the lack of live sport for broadcast.
