Interns research, write, and develop draft motions, briefs, and discovery; attend depositions, moot court and oral arguments; perform legal research; and assist attorneys in all phases of trial preparation and at trial.

Internship Locations:  Washington, D.C., New York City, and San Francisco. The vast majority of internships are located in Washington, D.C.

The Civil Division is seeking one experienced attorney to service as an Assistant United States Attorney. This AUSA will be responsible for defending and prosecuting a variety of federal civil cases, with particular emphasis on defensive actions, including but not limited to cases brought under the Federal Tort Claims Act, actions which allege employment discrimination or retaliation, and immigration matters. Tony West, Assistant Attorney General (AAG) for the Justice Department’s Civil Division, today announced four new members of the Division’s leadership team.

"In addition to the arrests and criminal charges that Assistant Attorney General Breuer announced, we are also announcing that we have obtained a Temporary Restraining Order freezing the assets of four corporate entities," said Assistant Attorney General West.

"I appreciate the opportunity to discuss the work of the Civil Division of the Department of Justice regarding combating fraud and securing the recovery of monies on behalf of American taxpayers."

"Central to our mission is the recovery of taxpayer dollars that are lost to fraud, waste and abuse," said Assistant Attorney General West
