 Article Title :: What Will I Learn Today?

This is a simple question with far-reaching implications.Psychologists tell us that we learn more in our first five years thanin any other time of life. I’m sure that’s true, but that doesn’t mean we can’t continue to make a respectable showing.We can learn something new every day despite the fact that we are hampered by a great learning impediment:We are adults.Just ask yourself, “What will I learn today?”Make the powerful assumptions that you have something to learn, you are able to learn it, and you will come across it today.With these 3 key points settled, you can go about your day with a confident expectation that some insi  (read full article)

 Article Title :: Debtor's Ethic

Faith Fellowship Church…PO Box 1586…Broken Arrow, OK 74013…Pastor Terry Dashner…918-451-0270“Beware of the Debtor’s Ethic”“Good deeds do not pay back grace; they borrow more grace.” John PiperCan a bad motive spoil a good deed? Should we, the Body of Christ, be concerned regarding the motives in which we conduct ministry? Let me give you something to think about. I’ll refrain from offering my opinion so you won’t be influenced by my thoughts. How do we reconcile the ostensible contradiction of Paul’s words in Philippians 1:14-19 and his words in first Corinthians 13:3?Listen to Paul’s words written in a Roman prison, addressed to the   (read full article)

 Article Title :: Decision making techniques using spiritual tools

Here are some steps I take to make decisions I have found a lot of ways to make decisions and look at things but this one works for me. First I must recognise the precise question. If you can formaulate a clear question like what is the issue here?But you must be clearer than that. Clarify and understand the issues envolved. Ask yourself why you have to make this decision. Separate the issues into first things to be worked on and the lesser issues. Check all your assumptions. What are the givens here. Remember that under each given has an assumption behind it. It is important to look at assumptions for they will get in your way later. Whatever we assume determines the data you will look   (read full article)

 Article Title :: Defending Christ

Christian values are under attack daily. In fact, Christians have their rights violated regularly and worse still they allow it to continue unabated. Let me give you some background here.I tried to place an advertizement in the local paper. Unfortunately, the word ‘Christian’ was used. This word caused offense (I was advertising a baby sitting service), and was politely informed that I could not discriminate by using the word Christian. Allegedly this was in violation of some or other law (Federal law). My first reaction was - total aghast. I was horrified. As I was doing this as a favor for a congregation member, I decided to leave it as is. Later on, I realized the dang  (read full article)

 Article Title :: DEMONS ARE REAL

I know, because I have battled some demons in my time....Did you know, too, that animals can be demon possessed? Remember in Mark Chapter Five when Jesus cast a LEGION of demons into a herd of swine? I once went to a man's house with my brother-in-law. We drove into his yard, and were immediately surrounded by four vicious attack dogs (rottweilers)...We couldn't get out, so my brother-in-law decided to leave. The next day, I went there by myself. The same dogs were there and come running up to my vehicle...I felt an evil presence (the hair of my flesh stood up..Job 4 verse 15), the power of the Holy Spirit came upon me, and I said "Shut up and back off in the name of Jesus!".  (read full article)

 Article Title :: DESTINY

Destiny..the future to which any person or thing is destined.Jonah 1 verse 1 "Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, verse 2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me."Jonah was picked by God to go preach to Nineveh. He tried not to heed the call, and instead headed in the other direction. While on the sea the Lord sent a great storm and everyone on the ship were afraid for their lives, except Jonah, who was fast asleep. The shipmaster came to him and asked him to call upon his God (he recognized that Jonah was a man of God). They cast lots to find out why the storm was so great, and the   (read full article)

 Article Title :: Devas are related to angels

Devas are related to angels there are two distinct meanings of DevasIn Hinduism and Buddhism are a lot more complex then those of the Western world. In Sanskrit Deva means shining one. Madame Helena P. Blavatsky, co-founder of the Theosophical Society, introduced to the West her own conception of devas. She saw them asa type of angel. She thought they came from from previous planetary periods. They came to earth before the elementals. They would stay dormant until earth's people evolved to a certain spiritual stage and then they would help man evolve. Certain people seemed to evolved to that point now. They have partnered   (read full article)

 Article Title :: Dharma Times - Women in Buddhism

With the fragrance of carnation still lingering in the air, we look into the role of women in Buddhism.Women have long enjoyed a special place and played an important role in Buddhism. Buddhism does not consider women as being inferior to men, while accepting the biological and physical differences between the two sexes, does consider men and women to be equally useful to society. The Buddha emphasizes the fruitful role women can play and should play as in being a wife and a good mother in making the family life a success. In a family, both the husband and the wife are expected to share equal responsibilities and to discharge their duties with equal dedication. The hu  (read full article)

 Article Title :: What Did Jesus Really Say?

Most people, even if they’re not Christians, acknowledge that an exceptional spiritual master named Jesus lived and died 2,000 years ago. The story of his life and teachings are chronicled in the four gospels of the New Testament and they have captivated the Western world ever since. But how do we know what Jesus actually said? There was no stenographer or tape recorder present and the first gospel to be recorded, Mark, wasn’t written until 30 years after Jesus’ death. How much do you remember of any conversation you witnessed 30 years ago? From the time Jesus spoke until the time his words and actions were eventually recorded on paper there were many opportunities for mista  (read full article)
